We are first time home owners, which means we did not know a lot of things about buying a home or home owning. But our first year of staying in the house has not been without inconvenience. We had to open a lot of work orders to take care of all the incomplete things that should have been taken care of before we moved in. Then on top of that, our kitchen was unusable for a month due a pipe burst. We have also noticed a number of cracks on our walls and foundations. They are not wide enough yet, but early signs are suggesting they can be, specially since it is only the first year. So we are worried about that as well. Also we are stuck with a basic exterior door. The door does not suit a $400,000 home.

House are built very cheap. I love my house but there’s lots of frustrations about cut corners. It’s not that I’d recommend someone else but I wouldn’t tell someone to definitely build with ashtonwoods.

Build quality for our home was great. I felt Ashton Woods stands out compared to some other builders.

The staff, the project manager, the deadlines met, the updating, the price and quality of the home.

The buying experience was terrible. We tried to close on a house where Jason Fannin did the math wrong and Ashley Quinn tired to get us to sign a contract without having financial approval. Then when we came back the house we wanted wasn’t “available” it was on hold for another family without a contract and only house we could get was more. So we were bait and switched. Since you had our money there was nothing we could do. Both people should be investigated in my opinion for shady business practices.

A lot of quality issues in first year - roof leak twice - plumbing leaks and malfunctioning toilets

We have been living in our home for 1 year and we love it. We had several warranty issues arise during the year. All have been resolved to our satisfaction. Our neighborhood is charming and we have the best neighbors here in Smyrna.

Ashton Woods Homes are good quality and they feel like home! Good layouts and beautiful spaces!

We've been in the home for 13+ months and have unresolved issues that have not been properly completed. Specifically, our jack and jill bathroom countertop/sink area has had a leak since we moved in and we have tried to work this issue with 3 project managers, with constant communication and follow-up from us, and numerous attempts to rectify it--all to no success. Today we were informed by Jose Martinez of Ashton Woods that "I have spoke with my superiors. We had offered the top repairs which was denied. We will not be swapping the faucets as they are not faulty or damaged. All holes were drilled to the standard size and faucets." (note: this is a patently false statement as we have NOT denied any service).

Through this process as a customer, we have not felt valued, nor have we felt like our voice has been heard. Many warranty items feel like a struggle with Ashton Woods, as if we have encountered a "customer last" approach. In my opinion, this is an unacceptable business practice, essentially, telling us as the customer that they are not going to fix this issue. We signed a contract that has warranties and, in this case, do not feel as if the contract is being upheld. Additionally, because we were not satisfied with his Jose's response (above), we asked to speak to his supervisor, which led to Jose informing us that "I am your point of contact" thereby stifling our ability to elevate issues to appropriate supervision. Therefore, we will be elevating this to Daniel Munoz to ensure our comments and point of view are being heard and represented in a transparent manner.

Prior to moving into our house, my family and I conducted years of meticulous research on homebuilders and decided after a career in the United States military, Ashton Woods would be our homebuilder for our forever home. If I could go back in time, I would make a different decision on our homebuilder. Since we moved in, the lack of professionalism with numerous items and the lack of integrity has eroded our trust in the Ashton Woods team. In the State of Texas and in Bexar County--Veterans deserve better than this.

After being in the house for over a month, we are still having trades come in and fix things that they can’t fix properly.

Overall I think the quality of the home is better than many other builders. There are a bunch of careless issues and cost cutting items that are annoying but on the whole things are pretty good.

Lisa was amazing, very patient and she also helped me with my paperwork.

The quality of the homes are amazing. The details are remarkable.

I hope this reaches the CEO or someone higher. For what I paid for the home I feel like I have been scammed.

This is my second Ashton Woods home. I was pleased with the first one. I am pleased with the second one.

Some time when work is being done they need to be supervise
1. Front door is hollow a pallet gun can go through it
2. My garage door has to be open by hand. There is no garage door opener.
3. My grass was like weeds and still having a hard time with it.
4. I have never seen a fence with the fence post is not filled with concrete post are just in the dirt5. One of my bedroom ceilings is not smooth out.

I am impressed in the craftsmanship and care that the builder placed into my house from the move-in to the one-year inspection. Everything was handled professionally and with care.

They are quality builders and they care about there customers.

Some things about the house and warranty requests were disappointing.

We love our home. Like all homes, it has its issues, but overall it is in good shape. They were willing to come fix stuff as well when we did have issues. They’re better than most builders I think, and I work in construction with different builders all the time.

Quality homes, great team, great warranty program

I am very likely to recommend Ashton Woods especially because Val Crewse, Sales; and Ryan Portillo, Superintendent, were friendly, responsive, and extremely knowledgeable throughout the entire process. In our home buying experience over many years, we have never encountered such effcient and effective work, and all conducted in a open and friendly manner.

We could have had a better customer experience while locking in with our agreement. Our agent was not very friendly as we were going through all the paperwork and could have done a better job marketing how the house will look when we purchase it. Some of the key factors for us were rushed and did not receive the proper time that they should have received. This was a big purchase for us, and it could have been one in a hundred for her. Every customer is new,, and it could be their first purchase or their tenth. Everyone should be friendly and needs to work through every minor detail with the customer. However, our supervisor did a good job keeping in his concentration the problems that we had and was ready to look at any issues. HE did not strike anything off as something they could not do. He addressed any issues and if it was within something they could do or not, he would let us know. Any damages that we reported, they would send a technician out right away the next day, and we appreciated that.

Getting warranty work has been nothing short of a disappointment. As a customer, the perception is Ashton Woods has my money so everything else as a customer falls by the way side. Extremely disappointed in the way it has been handled and if I could sell my house right now I would. But you have my money and it seems like that is what you as a builder cared about.

The buying process was easy and we were able to get an accurate cost and mortgage estimate fairly early in the process. I think the value for your money is really great. The homes are beautiful. Our project manager, Eric was very thorough in explaining to us what we needed to know about our house. He was also very quick to get back to us when we had a very minor issue. He was quick to get the items from our inspection fixed and gave us no pushback on that. We were not really unhappy with anything along the way.

They were very accommodating, fast, and well priced.

We love our home, the build design, and the creative touches Ashton Woods did to bring elegance and style.
