Wausau Homes are built like nothing else we have seen before. My wife worked for a few builders, including luxury home builders, in Maryland, VA and D.C. Quality and process are unlike any other builder. The process of floor planning and choosing siding, roofing, flooring, cabinets etc., were easy and enjoyable. Our builder was on top of everything and communicated as warranted. We never felt left out of the process or plans. We would highly recommend Wausau Homes Brainerd to friend and family. Couldn't be happier.

Larry and Gemma were fantastic to work with. They answered questions in a timely fashion. They were always professional.

We appreciated the attention to detail and how well Jed and his team got back to us when we had questions. They were always pleasent to deal with, kept our project on schedule and on budget.

Wausau Homes Duluth has the expertise and patience needed to help homebuilders get through the exciting but very grueling process of building a home. This is our second home, but our first time building one. Nick and Matt knew how to explain the process and let us know where everything was at each step of the way. They offered professional opinions on current trends and best practices that they are aware of in the ever changing industry of home building. We bought a very difficult piece of land to build on, but Nick and Matt used the best teams to make sure we got the house we wanted.

Larry and Gemma were very informative and helpful in our new home. We believe that with the amount of snow and cold we had last winter during our construction, they went above and beyond what we expected to get our home done. Larry's knowledge of the community and his recommendations for subcontractors was awesome.

First, as a client it is important to spell our names correctly. The question is a little difficult to delineate between Wausau and the general contractor. The windows were a big issue in our home.

We are so happy with our new home! We enjoyed working with the whole team and felt a part of the process and well informed throughout. The team was very responsive to our questions and concerns, and we were able to work together to solve any issues and achieve all the features we hoped to include. There are always wrinkles, but we felt so thankful that the Wausau team steered well clear of any of the horror stories about builders that are always circulating.

Mike and the whole entire team were great to work with. They were respectful and answered all the questions we had along the way. They let us pick out some of our own finishes as well, which was nice.

Mike did a good job for us even in the face of many roadblocks with the local building permit process.

Do not go with this general contractor! This build was a nightmare to say the least! From lack of communication to threatening to put a lien on our house because we wouldn't release the last $2000 because of items not being finished and items removed from the house-RUN!! I did more of the GC work because we couldn't rely on Jesse to plan anything. In 9 weeks the finishing guy worked 80 hrs total and Jesse was ok with that because he couldn't get another finisher to work for him. We never received itemized bills or warranty information that we requested from his lawyer. The list goes on and on. We have 6 pages of documentation of issues and many, many pictures of issues/poor work. RUN!!!
The plumber, HVAC and electrician were great to work with and we did enjoy that part of the build.

They are excellent builders. They do a superb job at they are there 24/7 to help.

I really appreciate the outstanding quality of the construction. Jesse and Chris were very eager to please. Building is stressful but Jesse and Chris made it fun and exciting. I like the extras that Jesse suggested—porch and flower boxes.

Nick and crew were a pleasure to work with.

Nick was flexible, accommodating and always returned our messages promptly. They were easy work with and our very customized house turned out exactly the way we wanted. We are very happy.

I am not likely to recommend Wausau Homes Waunakee to a friend or ever use them again.

Final Design - Yes! We loved seeing the 3D video of our home before it was built. It helped us to feel good about our choices. The actual home then exceeded those expectations!

Satisfaction - Yes! We love this house and we love the finishes that we were able to choose. We loved seeing our house being assembled in the factory. Knowing how they put the framing together gave us such confidence in the final quality. Having relationships with well known brands for many of the house components made us feel that we had hit the sweet spot where good quality was not compromised for the good value.

Builder Satisfaction - We feel you could not have a better relationship with a builder. Communication was always professional, friendly, clear, relevant and timely. That would be enough in the constructions world, but our Wausau Beloit builders went beyond that! They cared about us, cared about the quality, made sure things were going well, and we are so grateful that we built our house with them. We highly recommend them!

When we decided to build a home, we were curious about Wausau's process to see if it was a good fit for us. After doing research and learning about Wausau's long history of building in innovative ways, we felt we could really trust their process. The huge amounts of compliments we receive from visitors to the home, and the way we feel in the home, is all the proof we need that we made the right choice by using Wausau Homes. (And can we add that no one believed how fast our home went together, when every other home builds were stalled for materials! We know probably even Wausau experienced supply chain issues, but we believe their overall process helped eliminate a majority of those problems.)

Differentiating Factors - They have a proven product, firm pricing and a proven process. They were confident that whatever came their way, that they could face the challenge of a custom home build.

Areas of Improvement

Areas of Improvement - Not that we can think of. Our builders were thrown a lot of curve balls and handled every one. There were some structural engineering issues that may have been missed in design, that affected our build. That was surely a challenge to our builders, and also to Wausau Homes, but our builders handled it beautifully for us the clients. We know many builders who would have told us all the gory details of what really happened, but Wausau Beloit was SUPER professional. They just said, "this happened and we are going to make it right". I hope that Wausau Homes and Wausau Beloit have a long future ahead of them, together!
