When we first approached Pioneer, we didn't know exactly what we wanted, just that we had a need. We now have a wonderful addition on our house that is the perfect transition from our backyard oasis into our house, a three (or maybe four) season room that offers protection from the elements while still letting you feel connected to the outside. Right from the start, Pioneer made us feel that we were part of the design process and with their knowledge and guidance, we were able to easily evaluate options and make well informed design decisions. They managed construction within an area that was extensively landscaped and took care to reduce the risk of damage. The on-site staff were highly skilled who took obvious pride in their craft. They were a pleasure to work with, communicating with us daily and respecting that their work area was our home. We are excited about our new addition and we are extremely pleased with the process of having it built.

We were concerned about transitions and thresholds with the renovations and the old spaces, but they did a good job. We didn't have any requests for changes, so we didn't have to have any uncomfortable conversations. They did great with the finishing details.

Schedule - The week before our construction began, the Pioneer team gave us a Gantt chart showing the initial plan for when each step of our very large reno would happen. So many people said to us, upon hearing that we were renovating, that we should be prepared for it to last twice as long and cost twice as much. Pioneer kept it on time and on budget.

Remodeling Concerns - We were worried about everything! We knew this was going to be a complicated project. Pioneer stick-handled a thousand details that eased our minds, and let us go about our lives while they did so. Our project was delayed over and over (not Pioneer's fault) but Paul's good work and attention made things okay, in the end.

The work we do at Erb Streets is deeply important, and you have given our clients a beautiful space to come to for what can be very difficult work. The property dignifies the people that must go there, which makes the professionals that work there look good. Overall, we had a very positive experience with Pioneer Craftsmen throughout our large renovation project. We are very pleased with the end results and feel that things went quite smoothly along the way. We were most impressed with the organization, professionalism, reliablilty, accountabliity and high quality of craftmenship. This is the second time I have used Pioneer for a major renovation to my house. In depth consultations were conducted to design and plan all aspects of the renovation followed by a detailed project plan and cost estimate. I was updated and kept informed through out the process. Pioneer’s “craftsmen” (there was one woman!) were on site everyday, working and making progress on the renovation project.

Professional & Organized - Very professional and well organized. End of everyday I was updated on what was completed that day, any issues that arose that needed some thought and decision as well as being informed about what would be happening the next day. And everything was tidied up and cleaned up at the end of each day.

Communication - I was particularly pleased with this aspect of the renovation, my questions were taken seriously and thoughtfully responded to, my questions, requests and budget were taking into consideration and solutions were arrived at together.

Schedule

Schedule - Even with disruptions to supply chain and unexpected issues, work schedule was switched around to accommodate and stay within work plan and deadline.

Areas Of Satisfaction - The provision of a detailed project plan and the fact that EVERYDAY work was completed on site. There was flexibility within the plan and when needed additional staff were on site to complete certain tasks.

Recognized Excellence - Nathan Presley, lead carpenter. In addition to fulfilling his role as on site project lead, he created a beautiful wooden mantle for the fireplace. I described what I was looking for and he found an old barn beam locally. He worked with the natural features of the old wood and enhanced them and made the perfect piece for the mantle, it is amazing and exactly what I was hoping for!

I've had the best renovation experience ever with Pioneer Craftsmen Ltd.

We did our first project with Pioneer 20 years ago and have gone onto work with them for several more since. Why? because we found company that operates with integrity and honesty. The staff, is congenial, polite and responsive making for a successful project and a wonderful experience.

Design/Selection Process - It was exciting to see our ideas come to life and explore options by seeing plans in 3D. We came away with a far better project because of this first and most important step.

Employees & Subcontractors - I feel that Pioneer must take special note of this while hiring and contracting. I was also delighted to have our foreman to actually be a forewoman and was glad to see women contractors as well.

I had used their services many years ago so I knew I was dealing with an exceptional company. Under Jamie’s leadership, his highly skilled tradesmen, and Jennifer’s valuable assistance in designing and helping me choose the materials and products for my new kitchen renovation, I now have a truly amazing and functional kitchen.
