We were very pleased with the thoroughness and professionalism of Padgett Building and Remodeling from the very beginning and throughout the whole process. We got bids from them and one other company. Theirs was lower, and they included more features for less money. They took us to companies who supplied the materials and helped us decide which materials matched our existing kitchen color scheme. The other companies' prices were included in Padgett's bid. There were no surprises in the costs at all.

Areas Of Satisfaction - Everyone, including the sub contractors, treated our house with a lot of care and professionalism. The project ran on time, and everyone showed up to work at our house on time. Communication with Padgett Building was always very clear.

The job took longer than originally anticipated, in general, because of two items. First, after the demolition, it was found that the support system was undiscoverably different than what would have been the norm, causing structural revisions which Padgett did at no additional cost to us. Second, the sub-contractor that initially provided the plastering did a job in an unacceptable manner. Such job had to be substantially redone. In both instances, Padgett took responsibility and proceeded in such a fashion as to provide us the best outcome. During the delays caused by the above, Padgett kept us clearly informed as to the reasons for the delay and the steps they were taking to remedy the situation in the most expeditious way possible. We always felt that there was no job more important than ours. Even though it took longer than anticipated, we fully understood why and appreciated the efforts that Padgett had made to make sure the job had been done 100% correctly.

Areas Of Satisfaction - I feel the project that we had was very complicated, we were really trying to maximize the amount of space that we had in a basement remodel. It was absolutely a game of inches, and the problem-solving that they could do with their expertise was invaluable. We were on a pretty tight budget, and we enjoy do-it-yourself work, and unlike some of the other contractors we spoke to, Padgett was willing to work with us, and help us achieve what we really wanted to do. It was also amazing how behind they were to our whole family while they were here. I have several children and they were very kind to the kids, and concerned about their safety, even let the kids help out a little bit, in very safe ways of course! :-) we were also kept informed about every aspect of the schedule and progress, that really took down the stress of having so much work done on the house. I was also pregnant at the time and they were very understanding about watching my exposure to fumes or hazardous materials, etc. There was one time when the plumbers all got the flu, and had to miss a couple of days at work, and when they were ready they came in with a bunch of guys and got the job done in a matter of hours, we didn't lose any time on the overall schedule. I really can't say enough good about this company. Thank you so much!

The only problem during the entire project was with the granite company Hallmark Stone. We were disappointed in the finished project based on the amount of money we spent for the stone. Padgett did attempt to resolve the issue but the stone we picked could not be finished to our satisfaction. Had Hallmark told us it would be that way we would have selected something else. I would definitely ask Padgett to refer you to another company or at least explain what we encountered prior to you making a decision to purchase from Hallmark. I thought Hallamark could have made us aware of the possibility of the finishing issue before we made the decision to buy.

We were quite impressed with the professionalism and expertise that was displayed by all of the employees. They completed the job in a timely manner, explaining each planned step as the remodeling progressed. We had constant feedback and communication with the project manager, allowing us to be included in the process throughout.

Additional Comments - We were directed by their business to an Interior Designer, Melanie Holden, early in the remodeling process. Her assistance was invaluable throughout the project. She was readily accessible and open to incorporating our individual preferences into the project. She offered her guidance and interior decorating expertise throughout, but we never felt pressured by her when making our decisions. We felt fortunate to have access to her professional input, which has allowed us to achieve a well coordinated decor.
