Areas For Improvement - Communication - once the deposit was given we were not updated on a regular basis to identify the start date. Realizing the weather and other projects make it hard to give an exact date, more frequent check ins would have been appreciated.

We had an A+ experience with Jancon from the very beginning of the project to the very end. They showed up on the day we agreed upon, they left the outside of our home clean of debris at the end of each day, they finished the project on time, and the siding they installed three years ago still looks brand new. I've seen Jancon's signs in front of other houses in my area, and those houses look as great as mine does. I also should mention that our plow driver hit our house plowing our driveway last winter and damaged some of the siding and trim work. Jancon came back and repaired the damage and did such a great job that it is impossible to see where the damage was. I would not hesitate to recommend Jancon. They are great.

The project took longer than expected, due to weather and unreliable help. Several issues had to be addressed during the project and they were corrected promptly. I was not happy that the vapor barrier was supposed to be taped at all seams and it was thrown up in pieces all helter skelter and stapled. I was charged for wood that I wanted replaced and I know that it was not done. I blame the work crew, not the owner and he took care of every complaint that I brought to him. The things I complained about above couldn't be fixed without doing the whole job over. The crew was supposed to clean up at the end and we found tons of nails all around the house. They make a lot of promises before the contract is signed but you had to be vigilant in making them honor those promises. It is an expensive project that takes years to pay for and should not be a struggle for the home owner. No one has time for that. Give the customer what they pay for, period.

I needed a new roof on my 1975 raised ranch. I knew some of what was necessary for a proper roofing (ventilation, ice shield, flashing, etc.). I needed the roof as well as some trim work, and nobody knew what was behind the gutters. Junco was the third estimate, but the only one that proposed everything that I wanted without me asking. They were also the most expensive, however the completeness of their proposal was impressive, so I chose them. Work began close to the start date (we had some weather prior to our start date). I was introduced to the crew and the head roofer. They were all very professional - since they were installing ventilation baffles for the soffit vents they needed to come into the house and work in the attic—everything went as planned and they cleaned up all of the residual debris. The repair work they performed on some of my trim was excellent and they even put stain on the new wood (plastic). Cleanup was complete and once the dumpster left I found one of the nails used to connect my old gutters in the yard, but absolutely nothing else. None of the old tar paper that was stripped off the roof even, and certainly no shingle pieces. There was some fascia that needed to be replace and that too was done and stained prior to the new gutter installation. Finally, the crew took the time to explain the details about something new for me—the rubber roof that was installed on top of the sunroom. They were very careful to explain how much more of a hazard it was to walk on as opposed to the rolled asphalt roofing that was previously present. I was impressed that they wanted to make certain that I understood—I had never asked. One item that was unclear to me was the number of soffit vents and baffles. Some of my quotes included a continuous soffit vent, this one did not, rather every other rafter was vented. I had previously asked about this and was told every rafter would have a vent and baffle, but apparently not. I have not done the measurements and I'm no engineer, but I do have confidence that there should be no negative pressure in the attic that would draw interior air out. I have already recommended Jancon to an associate.

I had a totally positive experience with them. About everything stood out. Jeff was honest. He was very helpful in producing ideas as to what we should do. His people were always on time every day. I've had some prior bad experiences with contractors and I was wary because I didn't really know him; he was recommended by someone that I had met, and when he showed up I explained to him my past situations and he said, ‘Well, that won't happen with me,’ and it didn't. It was a very positive experience. My wife and I were absolutely thrilled by the work that they did. They did the whole interior of the house. We had water damage from the storm of 215 and we didn't get around to getting it solidified with the insurance company until 216, and Jeff was instrumental in getting the company out to reach an agreement on what they would allow. We had water damage throughout the house and he basically remodeled the whole downstairs. We took skylights out, which I guess would qualify as roofing. We took popcorn ceilings out, which was a real mess, but something that they handled really well. He did outside siding and painting. No complaints whatsoever. The quality of the work was exceptional. The pricing was exceptional. There was a never issue. Never a disagreement on anything. They just came in and we talked and anything that we questioned was always taken care of immediately. I would recommend them. I already have recommended them. I've recommended them to two other people. I would recommend Jeff to the highest extent. They're a good outfit. They're good guys.
