The process was very complicated for me and my family. There was very poor communication and overall management of the project. Some of the contractors were extremely rude and disrespectful to my family and my property.
Awesome job from start to finish
See below
Multiple issues including nails left in driveway and yard, soffit under porch roof damaged, brickwork on porch damaged, concrete cracked. Soffit issue resolved but it should never have happened in the first place. Unresolved issues include, but not limited to shingles not laying flat, gaps in shingles where the nailing strip is visible, and shingles not adhering to one another.
Very friendly and knowable
Some red flags from the get-go. I called for a quote. After the sales rep had been sitting in my living room for well over an hour, I assumed he was generating the quote. Next thing I know, he’s asking me to sign the contract. To this day, I still don’t know who my project manager was. Communication seemed lacking between the office, project managers, and subs. Several times, I got a text or call from the office notifying me of what the subs or pm’s were intending to do after having had just talked to them. There were multiple no-call/no-shows. Two of which I had taken the day off for so I could communicate with the contractors. They failed to hang my heating cables on several visits, then finally installed them, but in a way that would not only void the warranty, but was a fire hazard. They ruined both old and new trim coil. I’m still finding nails in the driveway and yard. My dog literally picked one up in his mouth. They had the nerve to ask for a 5 star review before ANY work had been done. Now for the good-the glass block guy (to save you time, use Glass Block Headquarters, not these guys) was awesome. Left the basement cleaner than when he got there, and the work was impeccable. After several calls, texts, and refusing to sign the certificate of completion, they finally fixed most of the repairs to an adequate level.
The sales interaction was wonderful, very attentive and genuine. The installation and subsequent gollow-up definitely leave something to be desired.
They did an excellent job, they were thorough, cleaned up nicely, very pleasant workers, and I'm very glad my son who is also a high-end general contractor found them.
Some crews cannot speak English. Cause damage and just leave including hitting my vehicle on street, $4500 in damage. Broke antenna too.
We are still pending some repair work that needs to be done. It has been going since I had the roof instaled. The work is supposed to be done next week, but it has been going on for a while now. I am not satisfied with the work that was done at this time.
My experience with 3rd Estimate would cause me to not recommend them to anyone
Mike did everything regarding the insurance company. Easy and painless.
I was supposed to be reimbursed for my gutter guards in the amount of about $150 that were damaged by the installer. I also am due a referral for Todd Thompson's roofing job in the about of $250.00 neither of which I have received.
The initial visit to evaluate and quote my project went well, The installation went about as I expected. I was told about 3-4 weeks would be the start date after placing the deposit. There was some kind of disconnect from the time I was contacted to review the contract to the actual start date. I was a bit disappointed about no communication at all, related to the start date, or potential start date.
Good communication. Expertise, courtesy, good cleanup.
From our initial contact with our estimator Josh Leonard to the install overseen by job site manager Jeff Coughlin and carried out by an incredibly hard working crew of men women and all details before & after coordinated by project manager Kirsten, we were left with the roof we hoped carefully shopped for for over two years, having met with many contractors before placing our trust in The Third Estimate.
Everything was done according to what Mike had said.
The only issue I had with my roof was that we were still picking up nails. I know they can't get them all, but we're still picking them up.
No
This one-star rating has nothing to do with the quality of the installation or the roof itself, but the extremely poor communication from the company, starting the moment after we signed the contract. We were continuously left in the dark with regards to what was to come next, were constantly misinformed or entirely uninformed, and ultimately were only contacted to finish up the job after numerous complains.
The salesperson was not completely honest. I was told The Third estimate do not use subcontractor, but they did. I only saw one person from the company and the workers were Hispanic, and did not speak English, so I could not communicate with anybody, and that was a little frustrating, but we figured it out though.
Communication was great. The work was done quickly and professionally and they cleaned everything up afterwards!
Never give 5 stars
Truthfullness, ontegrity,quality of work
Greg Stahre came out to assess my roof; he was honest and knowledgeable. I did not need have to replace my roof at that time but with the experience I had with him, the price, quality I decided to move forward with them. From beginning to end they were a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely recommend this company to others.
