They were very prompt and courteous from the time I contacted them to the time the renovation was complete and it was completed in less than a week and a half.

Overall I think we paid too much. I’ll probably choose another contractor to complete future projects and do my homework. Lesson learned. I’m disappointed I was unable to view the completed roof. The inspector didn’t even walk the roof to view the completed work. His response which was basically, I work with this crew all the time, felt insufficient. Home Genius’ poor choice to not replace previously wet wood due to a leak. Although, I was told the company ordered and had on sight extra wood for repairs. Less than forthright communication between the sales person and inspector.

Initially, when they came to the house, I spoke to the person through the doorbell, because I wasn't home. He introduced himself from Home Genius Exteriors, stating he was going around the neighborhood speaking to residents that might need a roof within a few years. I just recently bought the house, so I thought it would be a good idea to get the roof checked. Someone came the next day. He went on the roof and reported all the issues that he claimed were wrong with the roof. I don't have a big roof. The first estimate he gave me was $30,000. I told him no. He called his manager. They went from $30,000 to $19,000. That was a big difference. He locked him into $19,000 on the contract, but there was a statement that I could cancel within three days. Upon doing research, people with bigger houses than mine, were paying way less. I called Home Genius Exteriors and told them I was going to cancel. Then they went to $14,000. I think I ended up agreeing to $12,000. Why would they want to rob someone of money like that by giving the original estimate 3 times higher than what they truthfully can get a roof done for. What kind of heart do they have. I personally wouldn't recommend them. I don't want anyone I know to be ripped off by Home Genius Exteriors. I have more work to be done on my house, but because of the experience I had with the salesperson, I won't be using them again or recommend people to them. As far as the roof goes, they did it in one day. That was good.

They were pretty quick, efficient and got it all done really quick.
