Can we fix the interior of a "bow-shaped" window or do we have to hire someone to remove and replace it? The lovely "bow" or "arched" window which is above and separate from the two windows below it...needs to be replaced for COSMETIC reasons. The bow-shaped window has 4 pieces of (?) that created a pattern inside the window, but over the years, those 4 pieces have fallen down and it's ruined the appearance of the window. Other than that...the window is perfect but we know it will cost a lot of money to have it removed and replaced and the co. who installed it in 2004, went out of business. Nothing pressing, but we would really like to remove it, put the 4 pieces back where they belong but with apoxy and and put it back or remove it and replace it ourselves. Any ideas out there would be highly appreciated! Sorry, but I can't find the photos I took of it. Thanks! :)

Can a raised entry foyer be lowered? Just purchased a home, the front door entrance foyer is raised approx between 2"-3" and is about 9 1/2' in length, it is a tile covered concrete slab. The 2"-3" is a step down into the living room, the den and the hallway to the bedrooms. We are sure to fall or break a toe on the darn thing...missing the step up. Any suggestions?

Are trees and shrubs from home centers generally a good investment or should you go to a nursery?

I would recommend a nursery that sells locally grow products. You have a much better chance of it surviving if it's grown in local conditions & soil. Who knows where that big boxes got that last train load of plants from!

What are the best energy efficient blinds or window treatments for very large windows? I have a very large window and need a large blind or some type of window treatment. I'd like some privacy, but would like the option of being able to change it (i.e. I don't want to just cover it up). I've attached a photo of the window.

I live in a hurricane prone area. Is there a product that can make placing plywood over the windows easier? I'm looking for maybe a channel to slide the plywood into it versus having to screw it in.

Is it true that you can have a quality custom closet installed without breaking the bank? I've seen a few of these online and thought about having one built in our home.
