I have a large property, while there are trees that cover my house (and roof) I was wondering if solar panels made sense? Even if they weren't directly on roof?

Built in dehumidifier: Any suggestions for a small space? I have a 400sf workshop in Atlanta. It's not air conditioned and I'm interested in installing a built-in dehumidifier. Any suggestions for what type I should use?

wondering if there's a product out there that one can spray on the inside of an exterior wall on a wood basement to waterproof? I had some minor leakage on an exterior basement wall. The basement is made of treated plywood and there isn't any signs of rot but there is some mildew as well as a recently deceased colony of ants. Is there a product that will seal or help seal any further leakage that is antibacterial?

We have a floating home with a separate shed on an adjacent float. What is required to run wire from the main house (separate circuit) to the shed? The conduit must be able to flex somewhat because the two floats will move independently (up to 4 inches). The conduit won't ever be in the water, but will go under both decks and sit 1' above water.

Are trees and shrubs from home centers generally a good investment or should you go to a nursery?
May 16, 2014

I would recommend a nursery that sells locally grow products. You have a much better chance of it surviving if it's grown in local conditions & soil. Who knows where that big boxes got that last train load of plants from!

What are some inexpensive and non-permanent backsplash ideas for a kitchen in a rental apartment? I am currently renting an apartment and am looking for a cheap idea for a backsplash that can be removed when I move out. We currently have just a white wall that looks dirty and unexciting.
