Cindy: Sorry I was gone so long...something came up, but I'm back and this time with photos of the arch window! In looking at the arch window, I'm also wondering if the vacuum seal in between the two panes of glass has been compromised as well. What can we do ourselves to remedy this or can someone just give me an estimate as to how much it would cost to remove and replace this arch window in one day as we need to maintain our security. Thanks so much for any and all suggestions or information! We leave on Va-Ca this weekend so I'll be out of pocket till Monday, 3/30! Linda V Creedmoor, NC 3-17-15

How do i fix my sliding window. So when my sprinklers go off what comes with is a god awful sulfur smell. It’s a city wide thing when sprinklers are run. The thing I shouldn’t smell it in my house. I walked by that window on the way to feed the cat, and I was smacked in the face with that smell. That window also seemed to let all the noise in, the wind. The window on other side is the exact same kind, no awful smell and no noise. The windows are on either side of the front door. Not familiar with sliding windows. But how I keep the smell out and the noise down. I did notice that piece that slides up and down I could get the tips of my fingers in there and they got cold. It’s cold front season. Wasn’t sure if that was normal for a sound glass window. How do I fix and make it as nice and quite and smell free as it’s counter part on the other side of the front enterance.

Cost to upgrade New construction windows? I am exploring options to build a new home and have seen many builders using low quality builder grade vinyl windows. With the Minnesota winters I dont know if I trust these windows to hold up. What price range should I expect for new construction windows if I went with Andersen 100, 400 or Marvin windows? Expecting to have about 27-30 windows. Thanks for the guidance.

Do contractors need to ask screening questions before entering a home during the COVID shutdown? There is a small business, Reborn Cabinets, acting negligently during this time and is endangering individuals in the Sacramento area as well as LA County, Orange County, the Inland Empire, San Diego County, and Las Vegas, Nevada. Window replacement - how to maximize glass area I'm replacing the 9 windows in our townhouse. They are 32"x62". The views are great, with lot of sunshine coming through. It makes the living room, kitchen, and guest room attractive. Replacement windows will result on loosing 1.25" of glass on each side, total of 2.5" lost glass on each window. A slim replacement window might cut that down to 2". One contractor and Lowes recommended new construction windows, only because of the way these windows are installed. Will using new construction windows, which cost $100. more each because of the extra labor involved, result in more glass area than using replacement windows?
