Victors Home Solutions did a great job. They were very nice and the workers were good.
Dear Semper Fi,
We chose Semper Fi for the promises of a “perfect job” performed by a vetted, in-house crew, done right the first time and with minimal disruption. Since we have 2 adult children with special needs as well as my blind and disabled mother living with us, we thought that this company would be worth the considerably higher price to have the job done the wonderful way your commercials describe. Between your commercials done by our neighbor, Jay Weber, and the trust connection I personally felt with Donny, we believed that Semper Fi was truly something special.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
We tried to clarify several issues prior to the start of the project. Since no one has business cards and we only had the generic e-mail, this proved frustrating from the beginning. You can follow the e-mail trail to see what some of the concerns were. Of course, not much got answered by e-mail. Most was verbal. Some was no reply at all.
The job was supposed to take 2 ½ days. It was rescheduled due to the weather and was now going to be done in 2 days, a Thursday and a Friday. Except it rained early on Thursday. So now it got done in 1 ½ days, ending after 8pm in complete darkness on a Friday night. We asked the crew to leave and come back on Saturday. They refused. Our son (who has Fragile X Syndrome and Autism) was losing his mind. It was extremely stressful for our household. They wanted us to sign off on a job that we could not see and we refused. Good thing because there are so many issues here.
We met with Evan around April 1 and showed him the problems. He offered to have the crew return but we did not feel he had a sufficient understanding of the issues. He said that Manny would get back to us. It took almost 6 weeks for Manny to contact us and come here and we again showed him the problems. Next came Pete and Jake and we spent even more time discussing what went wrong.
We have replied to Pete’s e-mail which was a proposal for the repair of our new roof. It listed some of the many issues. We tried to address each issue and will list the highlights.
The undisclosed, serious code violations they created:
1. A broken off in the attic plumbing vent pipe that was duct taped back together. We found this on our own. They made the decision not to inform us. This was done above a fiber optic star ceiling.
2. The relocated bathroom vent hoods, one of which was moved in front of an opening window as we repeatedly asked them not to move it and the other moved for no apparent reason
Also, the extension of the drip edge and shingles over the gutters has resulted in a 40% loss of gutter opening space so the roof now causes rainwater to overshoot the gutters which damages the landscape and causes moisture problems to the house foundation.
The apron flashings were supposed to be replaced but were instead just covered up. Not replacing them means the underlayment was not replaced. In addition, the siding was butchered while installing the shingle flashings and now looks like garbage.
The workmanship is poor. Much of the installed sheet metal has gaps and openings which will allow moisture and pests to infiltrate.
The clean up was also poor. This was understandable as they were doing it with headlights and flashlights. The gutters are full of debris and we have buried downspouts. Of course the big rains came before we could address this ourselves.
Now, we are being told we must pay in full before they return to fix our brand new roof.
In the end, we have devoted so much time and energy to what was supposed to be a perfect job done at a high price. It has interrupted our lives and our peace. We quite deliberately scheduled the new roof for March. We have flower gardens all around our home and they are my passion. You have taken so much of our most precious commodity, our time, and we could not regret more hiring Semper Fi.
For the warranty that I hope to never use, I would recommend. For the workmanship, I would recommend. For the cost, the lack of returning items to where they were and killing of our landscape, I would not recommend.
I have already recommended them.
They are too expensive, and it was my mistake not to get another quote. The services delivered were on par with any local vendor, and you could have the same job done for at least 20% less, if not 50%. A 20% difference seems decent.
I was surprised that they were able to complete our job in one day, with the thoroughness that they did. We have a very large house, so that was very surprising.
The work was done efficiently and very timely and all were very respectful and kind.
“Excellent roofing company—professional, reliable, and easy to work with. The crew showed up on time, did high-quality work, and left everything clean when the job was done. I’m very happy with the results and would definitely recommend them.”
The job was done in a timely manner
I gave somebody one of your papers. A friend of mine was talking to me and said they were charging him $30 for his roofing. I gave him one of Victor’s papers to help him save some money. I told him to call them to get his done.
If you want fast quality on time job done right choose Victor.
I am very impressed with the work. Victors has very nice people; they seemed to do what they had to do in an orderly fashion. They were in and out in a day, which they told me they would be.
Victors went above and beyond. They were worth the price, and we would choose them again.
They did a very good job. They were polite and thorough.
I don't know enough about roofs, but they were around for so long that I trusted them. The inspector that came was very helpful, and he showed me a video inside of the roof and also showed me what they would do, so I thought that was very good. The finance department was also very helpful, but I forgot his name.
They had excellent service, quality, and workmanship.
They were very friendly and well informed.
They did a good job.
Absolutely
They were very professional and were quick to respond to any question I had.
I would rate that I am likely to recommend Victors to a friend as a negative zero zero zero. No hard hats were ever worn, and that's part of an OSHA violation.
I will tell a friend that the hardware and workmanship are good but do not hesitate to bargain for a reasonable cost.
I would definitely recommend. We had another quote, it wasn't as thorough, and came in much higher!
The only thing that would change about this experience is that Victors could intervene with Green sky and reduce my payment or waive some part of the total debt to reduce the amount I owe.
I would recommend, a little on the pricey side. But paying for quality.
