The process of purchasing a window was quick. We put in an order on 12/10/ 25. The window along with the subsequent molding and damaged wood repair was completed on 1/30/26. The window which is 6 foot x 3 foot was beautifully installed by Ryan. Thank you, we are very pleased!
Installation was completed much sooner than expected and done. I thought it would take all day but it only took a few hours. It was extremely cold outside. The two men who did the work were very efficient, doing quite well considering the weather.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! When it comes to Universal Windows Direct, I would not recommend them even in the slightest. We have had so many problems with them, it’s just sad that they call themselves a reputable company with an A+ business rating. After ordering windows to be installed in our house, the company sent someone out to measure and sad it would take up to 12 weeks to get the windows in, for which I understood as they were custom windows. However, this is when the issues began to start. When they called in November to say that the windows were in and my husband scheduled an appointment to get them installed on December 3rd. Then about twenty minutes later, they said they needed to cancel because the permit was not ready, which you would think they would already have known before calling to schedule the appointment. On the 3rd of December, the day the window installers were scheduled for, but canceled, we both got a call that the installation people are outside and no one is home. Of course no one was home, they canceled the appointment. No one told us they were coming and my husband called the people back to ask them what was going on and told them they had cancelled due to the permit not being ready, then asked if it even was indeed ready, which they still did not know. So, he rescheduled for December 16th only for the installers not to show and then called saying they got held up on a prior job and would not be coming. Then he rescheduled again, with them finally showing up only to leave because it was windy, which my husband video taped to show it was not. Plus, the workers did not speak English, so it was difficult to communicate with them. My husband had to call the regional person, because he could not get hold of anyone else. He promised compensation and that Tyson, who oversees the installation, will keep us informed. After all that the installers finally do come and install the windows thanks to my husband getting hold of the regional person, but in the process tore a screen and left the stickers on. My husband had to call many times to get someone back in to fix the screen, since they said it would be replaced, check to make sure the windows were installed properly, and to take the stickers off. He did end up getting hold of someone who was to come January 15th, but then someone called stating the technician was sick and not able to make it. At this point, I just wanted to be done with this company, after all the hassle of everything, it was hard to believe we were having this many issues with them, and that there was only one technician that could come out. On Monday January 19th, someone did come out and fix the screen, check the installation of the windows, and took off the stickers. This was only after my husband once again called many times to get someone to come out and they told him someone would call back and never did. I highly doubt that unless we call, they will be giving us any kind of compensation for all the stress they have put us through. The only saving grace was my husband, who I am so grateful for taking all the time and effort to make sure the windows were installed, which I do not think he or anyone should ever have to do. Overall, I am glad the windows were finally installed; however, I still would NOT recommend this company to anyone. In fact, if someone asked about a company to get windows from, I would tell them to stay far away from this company. I just hope that this review helps someone out there to not go through what we did and to find anybody else to install their windows.
Scheduling to get the windows installed was very difficult. Once a date was scheduled they Installer came put two of the eight windows in and left. The Installer did not speak English well, report it to his supervisor that the apartment that the second set of windows were to go in, the tenant did not answer the door. That was not the truth, the tenant from the first apartment watched the Installer leave his apartment and go straight to his truck. After speaking to a representative on Monday, December 22 I have not heard from anyone with a new date and time to continue installing the windows
Exterior color not correct but installer made it work and it looks okay. I had the option of getting new ones ordered as if I have nothing better to do but continuously replace windows.
Although there was a line wait for installation the end product was worth it
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Universal.
I remain deeply unsatisfied with my experience with Universal. I completed a negative survey after the first portion of my windows were installed and the remainder sat on my porch for weeks, and was reassured that all would be made right, plus some. Communication on the door install has been similarly poor though, and I had to initiate scheduling install, a week after I got the notification it had been stocked. When I missed the scheduling call the following day, I called back and left a voicemail, but waited another week for my call to be returned. There are still stickers on most of my windows, the caulking is kind of sloppy, and the window locking mechanism and operation aren’t as smooth as I’d hoped, so I’m very nervous about the doors. Green Sky has also now sent me my *second* statement, because the full order was submitted for funding after the initial incomplete window install. $34k+ job, makes me want to take my chances with DIY or some uninsured Joe Schmo from marketplace moving forward.
The windows l ordered they never came they sent me a different ones
Poor follow up and no customer service. The worst experience I received from any vendor .
I still don't have all of my windows in and I'm waiting for a call from this company.
Trim work looked unprofessional. Had to have guys come back 3 times till it was acceptable.
Your office doesn't seem to take calls to resolve issues .Not a lot of communication.
Guys were polite. Cleaned up, thorough explained about not opening the door until the following day
They said that you would not see any white when looking from the outside at the windows, but the white is evident and can be seen far away and close up.
I have had an issue and reported it 3 times and have yet to hear anything back
Seems like a good product
Price high for the quality of work
I'd recommend universal windows to everyone
I liked how the process was professional from start to finish.
They were very professional. They cleaned up there mess when they were done. Very polite and courteous. I would recommend universal windows to anyone.
I called to get a quote because of an ad for a free front door or 12 months no interest and no payments. I got neither! My front door was just slightly too large for the replacement. The salesman was supposed to call me several days later to tell me if the cost of the door would be deducted from the total since that was part of the offer. He totally ghosted me. The 12mo no interest no payments apparently only applies if you pay the windows off within 1 or which makes no sense! The installers were goid and the windows are nice, so that got you back up to a 5.
Once the salesman gets you to sign the paper, that’s the last time you’ll ever hear from Universal windows. It was just one disappointment right after another.
Your company CALLED ME MULTIPLE TIMES, OFTEN ON THE SAME DAY, FOR PAYMENT. However, when your installers did not show nor call for the installation, no discount was given or offered to me. I took off work and your no show put my project a week behind schedule which is very costly. The day and the time of installation was confirmed by you. You had NO PROBLEM hounding me for payment, but you couldn't call to say you were delayed or that it needed to be rescheduled. I had to CALL you to find out what was the issue was.
I am answering this for my mother. I was present during sales pitch and installation. The individual tha installed the windows did a great job however, my mother gave salesman $100 in cash towards the purchase and the finance company said that no deposit was ever credited to the account
