Mr. T and Johnathan are phenomenal positive influences for my children at After School care. We’ve seen great development as direct result of their positive leadership. Thank you!
My son always wants to go. He likes to come to y-care early and wants to stay late. He enjoys making friends and playing games. Staff is accommodating to his needs and interests and makes time to communicate his challenges and successes.
Kicked my son out of Y-care for sticking up for himself after being bullied.
The staff are very friendly and willing to work with kids. They don't freak out if a child is being difficult.
Great experience, my kindergartener loves to be at both before and after school Y Care and never wants to leave when I pick him up!
We like it a lot.
Very good program. My daughter likes going.
There’s a lot of fluidity in the after school program right now in that there are new people there every day so it creates a challenge in building trust and familiarity. Further, the ratio between kids and adults seems a little overwhelming.
They are very careful and watchful over the kids. They always have games and physical exercise. They also have crafts and learning activities everyday. Also many times they have homework help when they can. It is so much better then any daycare I had my daughter in before.
My daughter loves the caregivers and always looks forward to spending time with them and her friends on a daily basis. Typically, I get a grunt or a groan when ever I pick her up as she doesn’t want to leave.
It’s the staff. I would love to see people that love being around kids and truly care about their development. In my experience, staff is critical to my kids and yells at them. I would like to see staff play and engage. No two children are alike and children will never be ‘stepford’ children. More training is needed or fresh staff. If there were other afterschool care options, I would explore it.
The staff that is at Peter g. Do not try and accommodate kids with other needs. I have made it known that my child has adhd and a processing disorder and they do not work with him. I’ve given them multiple techniques and staff doesn’t use them. They never tell me anything good about my son it always something “bad”. When they call me I hear them yelling at him over the phone. I think they need more training on dealing with kids with different kinds of needs. And they should probably be a little more patient with these kids. But when he was going to summer camp with a different group of staff they had no issues at all. And worked so well with him and my son came home happy.
You can't. I think its just the disorganized nature of the Y and the childcare system its running. The people are good at our location, but I know across the board the system struggles. Good luck to you all!
This has changed me life and allowed me, a single mom, to have a full time job knowing my daughter is being cared for and having fun. Our Ycare staff at South Bay are amazing. They are creative and fun and always thoughtful in how they communicate with me as well as in the activities they plan. I was a Ycare kid growing up with my sister. Some of our friends to this day we met at Ycare during school and at various summer camps… heck some of them stood at my wedding. Be encouraged. You are making a huge difference.
Mr. Toby is great with the kids and my son loves being able to go.
My child enjoys seeing friends outside of school hours, being able to do homework and play. It's less confusing for her because it is at the school so she doesn't have to switch busses.
They interact one on one with the kids. There are many activities to choose. They have reading time. They also go outside to play. The staff is professional. They have allowed me to stay in my job from 2:20 PM to 5:15 PM on a daily basis. I do not know what I would do without you.
The ladies there are great with keeping the kids busy. Love their projects. They maintain the cleanliness and encourage the kids to wash their hands. . Really nice to talk to. Friendly environment
The games and activities they have the kids enjoy and no access to devices.
My daughter feels safe and heard there. The Ycare teachers employed at lakes elementary are superb. Thank you for your care.
Liz at Pioneer is EXCEPTIONAL! She needs to be a trainer and train all of the OSD and NTPS.
I think the staff at Lakes elementary does a great job with the children. Mr. T and Jonathen are great with the kids and they always appear entertained, happy, and most importantly, safe.
Reliable. Allows working parents an easy option for childcare. Our site has great staff.
I wish every stuff took Right Response training. It is very useful what to do when you deal with kids who have some behavior problems.
My child always has a great time at before and after school ycare
The Y Care leaders at my location offer a variety of experiences for kids - they are a positive role model to the children in their care and they speak positively to and about them whenever possible.
Me and my daughter Presley LOVE Ycare and all the staff! As a single mom I am DEPENDENT on Ycare to be my help. And they have never let me down. I am very grateful for them
The workers are very nice, friendly, and professional. My children LOVE Y-Care!
Their very helpful and understanding. This is my first time doing something like this and they guided me through the process.
I just don’t talk to people much about YCARE, but if I did I would recommend
My kid enjoys socializing with schoolmates and having opportunities to do arts and crafts and play outside. I enjoy the assurance she's not on screen time for hours and hours. :)
We love Y care. Since it is at my son's school, he doesn't have to wait for a school bus and is able to enjoy more activities at the gym. All of the teachers are so wonderful. Always smiling and nice and respectful
Glad for this service, thank you.☺️
The staff at McLane are amazing and do all kinds of events with the kids
Miss Jordan and Mr. Trevor are extremely nice. My daughter loves attending Y Care. They have really good activities for children. I just wish it opened at 6:30 instead of 7:00 and I’d be willing to pay more, if given the option to drop off earlier.
My son goes to McLane School. Sometimes teachers don't see what children are doing. There are unpleasant situations when children do or say bad things. But in general, their activities with teachers are very good
The staff at LP Brown.
Excellent care and activities.
The teachers my child has this year are way less impressive than previous teachers. i feel like communication could be better. the teachers don’t feel like they’re at ease with kids or parents which makes me feel uneasy. I miss the teachers we’ve had in the past.
It depends on who is working the camps. For years I had great experiences with Jonathon working the program with others. Now there are people working that don’t say anything about a person working that yells at the students, take passive aggressive approach to interactions with children. Working with children is a prestigious an important role and it’s very under paid. The program concept that the ycare offers is amazing. The people are the reason I wouldn’t currently recommend it.
My kiddo really enjoys it. He’s always so excited to share his projects.
Friendly staff, engaging activities, and my daughter enjoys going.
I love the staff. I love all the activities that they do in my child loves the program.
We had challenging times at Mt. View Elementary. The recent changes have been important and effective. I appreciate that there is better supervision. Tyler and Stephanie are both excellent and good nature. We also really appreciate Katy. Thanks for the program improvements.
The counselors seem very invested and interested in keeping the kids engaged and helping them become kind human beings
My daughter loves the friends she has made at Ycare. She also loves the crafts and activities they do. With a little help from Kate, she made me a choker necklace for my Christmas present. We always come home with a million coloring pages too. Also, grateful for the staff and their diligence with communication. We are so thankful and appreciative of this experience.
I don’t think the staff at S Bay is the right fit. We have been in other Y care programs and have had great staff who work with the kids to build trust and understand their needs. They meet the kid where they are at. This isn’t the case at SBay. I’ve also noticed the staff display bias towards a few of the students which is deeply concerning. They are also understaffed as well in cramped facilities without good access to a bathroom.
The staff are really friendly and have developed a fun relationship with our child. We also like the hours and convenience of having it at the school.
