Teachers are enthusiastic and the kids get to learn something they are excited about and meet new friends

This is the first time we have done after school enrichment through the YMCA and we are pleased that he is able to do this, it is just unfortunate that his class has been cancelled a few times. We still look forward to enrolling him in other classes though.

My kids participated in three enrichment classes so far. They have a great time and it makes my life easier when coordinating activities. There's a seamless transition between school, enrichment classes, and regular after school YCare.

The class offered, 3d printing. My kiddo loves it!

My daughter loves her dance class. She made new friends and is having so much fun.

My son is in the 3D printing class. At the beginning of the course, the teacher promised to bring the 3D printer to class to show the students but he kept giving excuses for not being able to bring it to school. Also, the teacher did not give lessons as I had expected but he let the kids play Crazy games or design on Tinkercad by themselves.

We're paying $170 for the 3D painting and coding. It's just a lie. The guy just has the kids free play some games or at the school play group. Learning nothing. Will not recommend this fancy "program " to anyone.

I paid $160 and my child colored 2 cds with markers and attached string to them, made a Mother’s Day vase and traced and colored a cat. I was disappointed when she came home with the cds the first day, what a goofy project that she has since thrown away, but I figured I’d wait and see what they do and all that’s been done is coloring. This is certainly not worth $160. The description reads “classes in painting, drawing, cartooning, clay molding, 3 D projects, and more!” None of this has been done. I expected a lot more from this class given the amount of money I paid! I’m also frustrated about the time- the school google form said the class goes until 4:15 and it really only goes until 3:45. None of this is what I thought I was signing up for and I certainly would not recommend or do again.

Dance instructor is so kind, hard working, empathetic with students. Art teacher was able to produce quality class and handle more students than most people could handle. Please do what you can to retain quality employees by providing them living wages and compensation for the quality work they provide. Our children truly are the future and as a parent and member of the community, I am grateful for your program. Thank you for caring for my children and fostering positive growth.

My boys have loved the programs at Garfield. I think advertising about scholarships in Title 1 schools would help the numbers go up, but for now my kids are enjoying small classes, fun content, and sometimes amazing teachers.

My daughter is having so much fun in the after-school enrichment art program! She has brought home so many wonderful paintings and she loves it!

We are super thankful for this addition to our kids schedule. I hope you are able to continue to provide these classes as well as financial options to those that can't afford the full cost. Thanks for providing it and my child really likes the instructor.
