Since our founding in Clearwater, the YMCA of the Suncoast has grown from its first facility in 1965 to its newest in Citrus County in May 2016. At the time it opened, the Clearwater YMCA was one of the largest YMCAs in the country. In more than 60 years, our footprint has not just grown, but flourished and made an impact on the communities we serve, especially in youth development. In the ‘80s, we introduced before- and after-school child care to our service areas. Today, we guide more than 60 school-age programs in your elementary and middle schools. Hide

Ridgecrest YMCA is a friendly, open, non-judgemental place to exercise and work toward my fitness goals. The staff is friendly, the mood is laid-back and the equipment is just what I need. The cost is very reasonable, too.

We go there for Spin class. We were all so excited. We got new bikes. It was like the Ymca finally cared about us. Unfortunately they got all new bikes that don't work eight out of 10 of them die in the middle of a class we keep being told they'll be fixed. It's been pushing a year and nobody's ever done anything about it to date. I believe there's two bikes that actually work even the Spin instructor's bike die sometimes.

My primary use of the membership is Pickleball. I cannot say enough about the woman that coordinates the play and the tournaments. She creates a "family" atmosphere and it is a joy to play there. Everyone I've come in contact with...the people checking me in, maintenance folks..everyone is exceptional.
