Hello-Attached are two COS documents. One is for the plumbing. The other is for water mitigation.I can not sign the General Contractor COS at this time. Signing would indicate that the work has been completed to my satisfaction. It is not completed to my satisfaction at this time. I plan on waiting for some undefined period of time to see if the replacement carpet padding contracts or compacts or shrinks to match the padding that was not replaced. I hope that will happen at some point in time. At the moment, when I walk through my house, I find it irritating (daily) that the carpeting which is over the replaced padding has a noticeably different feel than over the padding that was not replaced. I think I might even see the elevation difference by a shadow that is created as the sun sets. Not sure about that though. It seems to me this carpet problem didn't have to happen. You see, as I recall, very early on when water mitigation was taking place, those searching for the leak (in the plumbing) really couldn't convincingly find a leak. They tried on (I think) three different occasions. The last person searching for the leak said that there wasn't a leak at all at that particular time. He said that if there was a leak in the past, minerals in the water may have sealed it. Also, very early on, one of the contractors (I think it was Craig) said that the dishwasher had been leaking and possibly caused the problem. I replaced the dishwasher within a few days after that. I'm pretty sure (but not 100%) that I even let the insurance company know about this in an email I sent to them just to let them know how things were evolving. Please know that I admired and was impressed with all that had worked on this problem. I did however make it clear to all of them that the decisions as to what they had to do was on their shoulders because I'm not an expert in this area. Although it was said that the dishwasher had leaked, much time was given to sensibly dry the concrete, which never really did dry in the significant amount of time given. Because of this (I think) they decided to jack-hammer a hole in my slab to find a leak. When they reached the plumbing under the slab, they found that it was not leaking at all, which is what the last mitigator said. I realize that this scenario is one that's very difficult to solve but the fact is, if they would have listened to the mitigation team, the carpet would not have been partially pulled up and the slab would not have been jack-hammered. I guess that costs to the insurance company would have been lower too. If the mitigating team was listened to, my carpeting would not be in the condition it is in at the moment.Once again, I'm planning on giving the padding a reasonable amount of time to "settle down". I hope it will. If it does, and when it does, I will be satisfied and therefore able to sign the COS. Thanks very much for your help and thanks to all that have worked on this problem up to this point. Kim
We were disappointed that the floor was not as shiny as we thought it would be. The work quality was excellent.
They came and cleaned everything within days. It was great. Everything was well laid out and explained thoroughly. You can call at any time with any concerns.
They were very efficient, did a great job, kept me informed as to the progress, and completed the job in a reasonable amount of time.
As a Vietnam Veteran I am old enough to appreciate good customer service, however after paying the required deductible to this company they proceeded to complete unauthorized work above the limits of the insurance poiicy and then placed a lien on my property when i protested the unauthorize actions. They also refused to complete the project which left me with an unfinished bathroom and thousands in debt.
Workmahip was very good. John Beard and his project manager were wonderful to work with and kept everything in order.
All employees were very knowledgeble about their crafts. All work was completed in a timely manner. Also very helpful in giving information concerning what was to be accomblished.
I was very pleased with them.
Awesome
It is because of the long time for us to get the flooring. Four months is a long time to wait for someone to repair my floor. They were good about getting the estimate and showing me the wood flooring, but it was months before they got to it. They were very efficient and capable when they did get here and did a great job. They have had to come back for a scratch in the flooring. There is an area that feels like the floor is going up when you walk on it. The people who did the flooring did a great job. They came right out and tried to fix the situation. I think there might be dips in the flooring where it should have been sanded down.
They did an excellent job.
