For the most part of the project, we have been pretty disappointed with Patio Enclosures. From the beginning, our intent was to keep the existing patio roof and just have a new slab poured and enclose the area, which our design consultant said that that would not be a problem. After a couple months, we were notified that the existing roof could not be used and would have to be removed. From there, we decided to continue with the project but it did take several months to get the permit approved from the county. I had some issues with getting ahold of my design consultant for updates with the permit early on. After a couple emails, he replied back with telling me management would be reaching out to me instead of him.
During the design of the project, I asked for a 20 amp dedicated circuit during the drawing process, I was told the contract has a dedicated 110 circuit. I understood that I would have a dedicated 110 VOLT circuit but the circuit CURRENT was not specified. No one ever confirmed that I would have a dedicated 20 AMP circuit during the drawing process. I had to discuss that with the electrical crew when they were onsite and they kept telling me that they only did a 15-amp circuit but I told him I don't see anywhere on the drawings where it specifies the amperage of the circuit. I had to then supply him with 12/2 MC cable for him to run a dedicated 20-amp circuit to the panel.
When the work started, we were very unhappy with the demo crew. When demoing the existing roof, the crew threw the debris around the backyard instead of piling it into a consolidated location and left a pile of debris on my front lawn for a week. I had to reach out to the office to remind them to haul off the remaining debris. I also had to clean the backyard after the demo crew because the crew could have done a better job cleaning up and left a lot of small pieces of debris throughout the backyard. I also ran a magnet through the backyard and found almost a cup full of nails/screws from the demo which is a huge deal to us because we have a dog that we let out in the backyard to run around. It would have been nice if a tarp was used to confine the debris.
When the demo crew cut back the existing patio roof, they nailed ice/water shield to the existing wall head plate but the ice/water shield fell after a day, which I had to go out and re-secure the ice/water shield. Also when the existing patio roof was demoed, the attic was left wide open under the ice/water shield and we had an issue with inspects/wasps coming up into the attic and then into the house. We had to get a pest control service to come to spray around the house because we had over a dozen wasps come into the house while we were waiting for the install to start.
The concrete crew (All About Construction) was great. They came out and were very neat and organized with their work. They would check in with us when they arrived and would check in when they were done for the day and they would make sure the area was cleaned and would tell us what their plan was for the following day. We were very happy with the concrete crew.
Once the sunroom install crew came to the site, we saw some similar issues to what we saw before. The crew would show up when they pleased (anywhere between 8:30am to 10AM) and would work only 4 to 6 hours of the day in the beginning. The crew would just leave when they wanted and would not let us know when they would show up the next day or what the plan was. There was a couple days the crew did not show up and we did not receive a reason as to why they did not work that day from the office.
We were also very unhappy with how the crew stored the material. The window frames were stored up against a tree or the brick wall, sitting directly on the ground. It would have been nice to see some dunnage or protection of the frames. The install crew also stored their ladders against the window frames without protection. We were spending a lot of money on this sunroom and it felt disrespectful how the crew stored the material. We saw multiple scratches/scuffs in the framing of the sunroom. When I asked for a crew to come out and touchup all the scuffs and scratches, a guy came out and sprayed they areas but there some some spots where you still see their sharpie marks for their cuts, scuffs under a thin layer of paint, and some areas where the touchup paint had dripped.
The quality of the whole process was excellent and worry free (except for the money part - on our end). . We just love & enjoy our new room immensely. Thank you❤️
After the fact, found it to be pricey. Felt pressured to buy that day of the quote, discounts if I do it now so the rep does not have to come back.
I am very disappointed with this service. No one was clear in communication, I had to do most of their planning of my deck, measuring, for the plans I paid for, had to keep sending them pictures of different areas because they did not do their due diligence, had to schedule all my own inspections. The electrician did the wiring, then closed everything without inspection's so we failed, then he argued with the inspectors over the phone and insulted them because he did not follow the code requirement's. He had to come back out to redo the work and get a new inspection, then left and asked me if I called his final inspection. I had to spend 3 days at home and lose time at work waiting for his inspection because as he stated “he lives 3 hours away” I guess thats my fault? We still do not have a final electrical inspection, he never called it in and I guess I need to lose another day of work waiting on his final electrical inspection.
The gentlemen building the sunroom was very pleasant and professional. He did great work.
All in all a very bad experience with the management and the electrician.
Our new sunroom turned out great. Samuel and his assistant was very meticulous in every detail. Very professionally done and they cleaned up after every day of work.
I would have preferred to have a less high-pressured sales pitch. To get the discounts, you did have time to think on it or get other estimates.
I felt pushed into the sale after the fact. Price was still steep when all was said and done.
the quality of the materials and the professionalism of the installers was superior and exceeded our expectations.
Every person involved with our project was very professional and explain everything thing and our install crew was top notch. They finish our project in two days and treated like it was their home. My wife and I where very impressed.
On budget. Quality build
Timeliness
The Guys were reliability, productive and responsibility
Although a little more expensive than we planned, the personal attention and prompt service makes the old saying ‘you get what you pay for’ hold true.
Very good job and wonderful sunroom completed for a reasonable price.
