In general, the new roof is acceptable. The installation was completed in just one day, whereas some of my neighbors' roof replacements required an additional day.

(a) I understand that every roofing installation has acceptable tolerances. However, I am somewhat concerned that some of the noticeable open pockets between the ridge shingles may exceed those tolerances. Paradox assured me that these pockets will flatten and disappear over time, and I hope that proves to be the case.

(b) I recommend that, on future projects, Paradox protect all windows, garage doors, and other exterior surfaces from scratches, damage, and asphalt stains as much as possible. Asphalt residue from roofing materials can be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to remove once it adheres to painted or finished surfaces.

(c) Paradox should also take greater care to avoid damaging gutters during the roofing process. Late last year, I hired a contractor to restore my entire gutter system to excellent condition by eliminating leaks and repainting the gutters, chimney, and garage door in bright white. Unfortunately, after Paradox completed the roof installation, I discovered water dripping from multiple locations throughout the gutter system, several gutter joints had partially separated, and the previously repainted white surfaces—including the gutters, chimney, and garage door—had scratches and asphalt stains. As a result, I now need to have the gutter system repaired and the damaged surfaces cleaned and touched up.
