I am disappointed with the several misleading statements. During the sales pitch, Gary S., salesperson, clearly stated profusely that it is very rare we would need new plywood, thus Newhaus offered only 10% replacement coverage in the bid. I negotiated 15%--the existing roof was over 25 years old! After the roof was removed, Leo, a manager, came out and quoted what appeared to be made up pricing ranging from $8,000 to 11,000+ for plywood work. Using his varying price/square foot, we settled on $2,500 since 15% was already part of the original proposal. The next misleading statement was the time to do the roof (1 week remove and install). I was under pressure to meet a solar panel installation deadline and Newhaus knew this. It took over 1 month to
Install and city sign-off. The 1 week quote was quite erroneous (I'm not including the rain which was a 1 week delay). The next misleading statement from Gary was a referral fee of $500 to $1,000. I referred a big job (the Boyds) and received $250. Now no one responds. BE HONEST and quote correctly or take accountability.
They were very professional people and I am very pleased with the job they did for me.
Quality of work , professionalism, respect and cleanliness
Initial meeting was fine and I felt confident in hiring Newhaus but soon lost trust and confidence in the company’s transparency
Boris explained project in depth and walked us through step by step before, during, and after the roof was put on .
They deceived me and led me to believe that I needed more than the original contract, meaning the price almost doubled. I know that this was done because I am an elderly widow. I do not believe anything they say anymore.
They were here when needed. They were on it. They got the job done quickly. They did everything we needed and then some.
Ultimately, I ended up with a nice new roof. However, getting responses from the person running the job was difficult. I was not kept informed on the progress, and responses to my inquiries were delayed . Keys to house were never returned, even asking several times to have them mailed to the residence.
They were really expensive. 21,000. For a roof and replace the rotten wood also.
The way financing was obtained. The man gave incorrect income for our household. In order to the project financed!
Very friendly people and they cared. The process was explained and nothing was done without my knowledge.
The visit to the site of our home and the thorough conversation with us in person was the deciding factor in our decision to choose NewHaus Construction. The discussion helped us understand the process for the installation of a new roof, the roofing materials we would need, and the time it would take to accomplish the project.
Responsible, efficient, supportive
The salesman was very convencing. I did not have time to get approval from the Community Board.
you more than doubled the price you gave us for our new roof.
NA
They work fast and do a great job, they are friendly and very professional, also they help you through all process for any financial issue that you could have with.
I would recommend them to a friend because I thought their work was professional and good quality. They were also friendly and gave good service.
Beginning with the initial inspection by Yuri, the project has been performed in a professional manner by staff members who seem very capable and efficient.
They, replaced rotten wood as needed.
Most of the neighbors were asking why it took so long to finish. (???)
Understand finding all soft , bad boards under old roof added more $$$$ , lots more $$$$ ~~time to remove and replace them and additional inspections.
The work was completed and we are very happy with the job done.
Quick and thorough.
Attitude and communication from supervisor who was condescending and refused to fix holes left in ceiling from his crew
Sam and Vic were very professional
The addendum additional cost to fix a small number of panels that were originally covered in the contract was unexpected and almost doubled the original negotiated contract price for the project. Not happy about this at all.
While you never know beforehand how a company is going to live up to its promises of quality and service, I quickly learned that Newhaus always delivered what they promised in terms of schedules, follow-ups, and follow through, which made the whole process pretty smooth.
I would recommend NewHaus Construction. They explained everything to me and let me know what they were doing step by step. I'm going to say that it was a little pricey, but the work was well done with a 50 year warranty.
Once the crew showed up to do the actual installation of our new roof, all went relatively smoothly. The main concern I ran into was that the home office personnel didn't seem to be talking to the folks in the field.
I would not recommend this company. They quoted me an initial price and then after inspection when the shingles were removed increased the price by 8k for replacing the boards under the shingles on one small portion of the entire roof. It was not made clear to me before hand. I payed the difference and the roof was done well. I did not like how I was dealt with and the extra cost was justified by " materials and labor cost". They had sold me a lower price to begin with and then made up the difference by coming back and adding the additional 8K. I had talked with my contractor and was told they didn't think it should have cost that much more to replace those materials.
Newhaus did a great job on the roof, met all our deadlines, and Gary was exceptionally responsible.
The only part I really disliked is that they were going to put my solar panels up on the roof without cleaning them, so I cleaned them myself. They should have cleaned them themselves, but I cleaned them.
