We have used Neil Kelly on multiple remodeling projects. Their work is always of the very highest quality.

I'm extremely satisfied with the experience of working with Neil Kelly. From design to execution, the entire process went smoother than I expected, we got what we wanted, and the price was very fair. We will be reaching out again when we are ready to do more work on our home!

Craftmanship was high, the construction process was painful.

Very likely. The management of this project has been excellent. Strongly agree -

I would recommend Neil Kelly-Eugene/Springfield but with caveats. We ultimately love our new space but there were some issues with communication and quality control.

Staff are all pleasant and helpful while being consecrate of my space and time. Customer service over all is superior and I'm very picky about that.

This is our second project with Neil Kelly, the first one being significantly larger. We have recommended NK to numerous people, and have been very happy with all aspects of the work.

Exceptional craftsmanship.

Neil Kelly manages the entire project; everything is clearly laid out and the project manager keeps you updated on what's happening. All done with professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness.

We have done several projects with Neil Kelly, from major remodels (kitchen, master bedroom) to this one (overdue maintenance) and we feel we get excellent results at a fair price. They also stand behind their work if issues surface after the project is complete. What more could one ask for?

Excellent work and great company standards.

I got good help repairing a shower head section of bath tub because it leaked from a loose shower head. Wrapped in white tape stopped the leak. Then, a fellow from your organization replaced the 10 inch by 18 inch piece of plaster board, set in new plaster. I was given good instruction as to how to finish the plaster fill. Then, when it was dry, I was able to paint it to match the nearby wall, following tips by your painting fellow. So, based on this good service I'd be comfortable referring similar minor repairs to friends. You did this job for no cash payment, as it was in lieu of a gift of a no pay first step of a remodel job that I won in a drawing at the Eugene Executives Association, which Neil Kelly recently joined.

The overall experience left us extremely satisfied with the quality of work, the materials used, and the professionalism of all involved NK staff. The project turned out better than we anticipated and they turned a dated and useless ADU into a functional, attractive space. I would recommend them to friends and family without reservation.

The project is exactly what I expected from Neil Kelley.

Very pleased with the experience

It was an excellent experience. They treated us brilliantly. They were professional throughout the project.

Overall, my experience was pretty good!

Several neighbors have inquired about my level of satisfaction with Neil Kelly and I've highly recommend them in each discussion

Quality is exceptional

They were willing to work with my special needs in logistics and my limited ability to commute back to Eugene.

We have used Neil Kelly for many major remodeling projects during the last 2 decades, and we have also used their Handyman Services frequently. We are never disappointed in the professionalism of their contractors, the quality of the product and design choices, and their commitment to their warranties. Calls, texts, or emails are responded to in a timely manner, including on the week-ends, and we are always kept abreast of any changes, either in product or schedule, that occur. While it is always possible to get things done in a less expensive way, we have always chosen, and will continue to choose, to have it done properly with the services of Neil Kelly.

Friendly, knowledgeable, & very efficient.

great service for 10 years

Our team was very organized, thorough and kept us informed throughout this project.

Our project manager, Ashley Jackson, went above and beyond to ensure that our project met our expectations!

Recommendation is on #14… sorry

Areas Of Satisfaction

Areas Of Satisfaction - This is a very efficient, knowledgeable company with wonderful communication skills. The price we paid was less than we expected. The work was done in a short period of time. They helped us to research our options for the style of appliance we wanted. I would definitely recommend them again.

The job was to reinstall the Sun-Tuff canopy so the seams don't show, and cut Sun-Tuff sheeting and exposed end of rafters. At the time I told Parks, the handyman manager, there were leaks from canopy onto the hot tub, and I also wanted those fixed, but the leaks were not mentioned in the contract. The bid was for $1850-2150, and a cost provision for fasteners and replacement closures was included. They did move and hide the Sun-Tuff seams, and they did cut the sheeting and ends of the rafters and re-stained the ends. They did not fix the leaks, but they spent time trying to do so with cedar closures, fascia, fasteners, and finally silicone. The best they could do is move the leaks around, and reduce the number of leaks by siliconing the Sun-Tuf sheets together After much trial and error (at my expense) the leaks remained, and they decided the southwest post needed to be cut about 2" so the water would flow down the Sun-Tuf and into the gutter. I was frustrated with all these "trial and error" expenses and at that point agreed to end the project with a total job overrun of $675.08 above the maximum bid estimate of $2150 and the leaks not fixed and dripping on my head when I'm in the hot tub. I also don't understand why I was charged for fasteners and closures when they were included in the estimate.

The cost is really a barrier for most people and although I stress the importance of the 5 year warranty, people are still very shocked at the cost for the project.

The representative knowledge & honesty,
The contractor that did the work he did a great job & was very knowledgeable.
The estimate for the work done was right.

I appreciate having one company to deal with everything, from design to the finished kitchen. Everyone was great to work with.

Everyone is very easy to work with and the quality is outstanding

It was so convenient to have the whole project, from design to code compliance to construction, all with one company.

Too expensive for the work we had done.

Employees & Subcontractors

Employees & Subcontractors - Ryan Moore was great. Friendly and excellent workmanship. Very pleased with his work.

From begining to end, our experiece with Neil Kelly staff was excellent. We have already recomended them to friends. We will not hesitate to use Neil Kelly again.

Neil Kelly-Eugene has accomplished 3 big projects for me on 2 houses and were incredibly good at design, communication, and excellent results on all 3 projects. All personnel were delightful to deal with personally.

efficient, made good use of time. and did great job

There were several issues:
1) The term ‘handyman’ services a bit of a bait and switch, as once we got past the ‘planning’ stage, it seemed to become an official Neil Kelly project, where we had Aaron Land, Ashley Jackson, and a rotating crew of workers all involved. There was no handyman involved as advertised or marketed. We didn’t need a weekly ‘progress report’.

2) There were a lot of inefficiencies, for example, the person who does measurements should be the person doing the work. There were numerous times where Aaron came over to take measurements and pictures, but then the carpenter or whoever would not really know what he was thinking and would have to redo measurements. This led to some challenges with the door installations in particular. It also meant using up more of my time waiting at the house, etc.

3) I think we went through 3 ‘carpenters’ during our project, which meant no consistency, as well as more of a chance for something to go wrong or a miscommunication. I’m not sure if that’s normal for a Neil Kelly job, but it seemed like a lot of turnover to me.

4) Aaron was particularly bad at communicating. There were several instances where his email "didn’t work" or where he sent apologies for being delayed or not showing up. For example, he didn’t show to the final walk through, even though Ashley did (though she didn’t do the walk through as she was never really involved other than putting out the key box and retrieving it). I’ve outlined the times below where Aaron’s communication was not optimal.

Jan 30, emails didn’t ‘go’ out
Feb 7, again apology for delay in email
Feb 17, said he sent contract but never got it;
Feb 19, still no contract, apologized for delay
Apr 17, another email apparently lost to ‘ghost world’ he says
Apr 28, didn’t show to final walk through, no text or email, Ashley told me

In the end, we won’t recommend Neil Kelly to any of our friends and won’t be using your services again. The work done is fine, but it was poorly managed and extreme overkill for the project we needed. Given how much we paid, we expected better management and a smoother process. There seems to be a premium put on email/phone surveys at the end of the project, but we needed less of that and more actual work/consistency.

The quality and workmanship was impeccable! And the overall experience was actually fun!

The communication was OK, the implementation was plagued by too many mistakes (that were mostly caught by the homeowners, not the project manager) and redos. The end result as not as good as we had hoped.

Communication

Communication - The flow of communication was constant and professional. This was among the better elements of the project.

The carpenters made good recommendations and did a good job.

Aaron was very perfessi

Neil Kelly Construction is very professional, efficient, and has very skilled craftsmen working for them.

Lead Source

Lead Source - A neighbor referred me.

They do amazing work. They are great people.

We have contracted with Neil Kelly for several projects and would always recommend!

Excellent communication and workmanship, and pleasure to work with!

Parks McCants assisted me with a modest kitchen upgrade project that included the installation of a new range hood, new lighting, and the finish work (drywall and painting) associated with a skylight that a roofer installed. Parks was communicative, prompt, and polite. He was quickly able to put together an estimate, assist me in making some design decisions, assemble a team of contractors, and execute on the work. The contractors were also very polite, courteous, and professional. My wife and I are very happy with the final product. We would definitely work with Parks and Neil Kelly again on another remodel project.

Our project took longer than forecasted. This happened largely due to the main carpenter's absence. Further delays occurred because many flaws had to be pointed out by the client. We had the feeling that quality control rested with us. Some basic details were overlooked by Neil Kelly (building code requirements) appliance placement, and cabinet crown molding and trim that required repeated cosmetic adjustments were some of the challenges. The reputation exceeds the experience.

We weren't sure what to expect initially but Magda, with her vision and concept designs, soon convinced us to move forward with a major remodel we hadn't originally envisioned. We couldn't be happier with the end result.

The company did amazing work!
