The whole process was easy.
The scheduling was atrocious. Workers showed up without warning, left my gates open, and the job unexpectedly turned into a three day affair. Between the two days of roofing they left my backyard in such a state that I couldn’t let my dogs out. They started ripping before the tarps were down too so I’m worried my yard is full of nails
After waiting two weeks for a call from the first contractor I had contacted (the call never came), I was very happy that M&M was so efficient. My original call was followed by a visit from Brad Hoffman within two days. All other communications were quickly responded to.
Communication and quality of work
The process was seamless. I was kept well informed the whole time.
Professional, thorough explanation of the roofing process, materials, comparisons with competition etc.
Competitive price. Workers showed up on date scheduled and they delivered as promised within a date I had indicated.
One area of improvement is explain upfront the different schedules for work to be done as part of project but not done by roofers such as internal trim work.
The project manager nor sales rep overlooked one area where a rafter was attached to the wall and as a result it created a hole in the wall. The working crew did not even tell us until we saw ourselves and escalated. It took 2wks to address the issue. If the initial evaluation was done right from the start, we would had talked about possible outcome if removed, recommendations, options to take and scheduling, even if we had to pay a little extra. The end result: material used was not the same as existing rest of the wall even it's free and we waited 2 weeks to resolve after they were done with roofing installation.
I am really disappointed by the services provided by M&M and team. It was a big project roofing, siding and gutters etc. and they made it **** for me.
They sent the crew to do the roofing project when temps were in mid 20s. I turned them back once, because it is not suggested to do roofing in such low temps. I asked them to delay it until later in the season, but then next day the project lead or the manager pretty much told me that they will send the crew to get the project started. Being first time homeowner, I just felt they know better than me and just wanted to let them do the job.
Things went from bad to worse, sidind job was done when temps were lows 10s and snow was on the way next day. I tried reaching out to project lead but no response, office told me job will be completed in one day. It wasn’t and they left the yard dirty. As expected it snowed next day and wind chills were below freezing in days to come. Half completed job was left as is with dirty yard and snow buried nails for days. I can go on and on but suffice to say it was a nightmare.
Working with M&M was a pleasure. We worked with them for gutters and was happy to use them for our new roof.
I will not recommend M&M to anyone. Everything went smoothly until I pointed out that the original work done did not satisfy the contract. At which point, I was yelled at, talked down to, called a liar by the salesperson, gaslighted by the superintendent. The reasons provided by the salesperson, superintendent and lead superintendent were deceitful. The edge vent was to be installed at the roof's edge - as stated in the contract. The installers performed an "off edge" installation of the Lomanco DA-4 edge vent (as defined on the manufacturer's website). The contract very clearly stated that the edge vent would be installed at the roof's edge. I was also told that installing at the edge would be a risk for ice ****s. This was also debunked on the manufacturer's website. All 3 of the individuals I spoke with at this company tried to convince me that installing the edge vent ~36" back from the roof's edge was indeed the roof's edge. When I challenged this, I asked, "If you want me to give you ~36" and call that the roof's edge, then you would need to give me ~36" going up the roof. By your logic, I could then argue that you installed the edge event in the middle of my roof. Would you be willing to give that to me?" None of them would because it doesn't make any sense. After going through the same song and dance with the 3rd person I talked to at the company, the lead super intendent, I apologized. I said, "Sorry for getting emotional about this, this is the 3rd time I have had to go through this dance, I just don't know how many more times I need to do it!?". When I said this, he backed down, and said that they would come back out and move the edge vent down to the roof's edge.
In original emails with the sales person, he shared pictures of 2 types of installation methods: installation at the roof's edge & off edge installation. He shared: "With edge vent, some install right at the gutter line, we typically prefer to install a little further up on the roof like some of the photos show." My concern was how the edge vent would look. After receiving the contract that read: "Will install Edge Vent which provides continues intake airflow at the roof's edge." and looking at the pictures provided by the salesperson, I assumed that the edge vent would be installed at .... THE ROOF'S EDGE.
When I brought this up, I was gas lighted, told inaccuracies about the rationale for doing things this way, talked down to and was told that I was a liar (I have emails - please let me know if you would like to see them). A mistake was made by M&M and there has been no accountability, no real apology. After bringing it up, I waited for phone call follow ups. I had to initiate all phone call follow ups to get the work completed with respect to the contract. I was bullied by the salesperson. I was threatened with late fees.
Through this ordeal, I had to figure out for myself how edge vent can be installed. I had to look into venting. I had to look into ice damming. I called Lomanco. I called lawyers. Resources here to share with your team so that they can learn the product better:

I also learned in this process that after the work was completed upon initial installation, my roof was left with a short circuited ventilation system. The gable vents in my roof were left open after the new ridge vent and edge vent were installed. No one told me this during the entire process. When I brought this up with my salesperson, he said that I would need to pay for everything first and then open up a new ticket for the repairs.
I received change orders for flashing color, shingle color and adding a new vent. I never received a change order to change the edge vent installation from an edge installation to an off edge installation. Never. This was not approved by me.
The argument from everyone I've spoken with on this matter has been that the work was done and we have a properly ventilated roof. I am not arguing that at all. My understanding with this project was what was clearly stated in the contract - that the edge vent would be installed at the roof's edge. THAT WAS NOT DONE IN THE INITIAL INSTALLTION!! A similar situation would be me asking for my house to be painted white, signing a contract that said the house would be painted white and the painter coming in and painting it hot pink. And when the situation was brought up to the painter that the house was painted hot pink, the painter telling me, "The house was painted. We did what the contract said - we painted the house. You must pay us because we painted your house"
After about a month, the situation was finally resolved.
M&M was great to work with—professional, answered our questions, and cleaned up beautifully when work was completed.
I have already told a neighbor.
They were professional and very nice and kind. They did a great job and were fast and very efficient.
All work was professionally completed on time, as scheduled, and as quoted. Communication and follow-up before, during, and after the job was exceptional! We will be happy to recommend M&M to friends, and will certainly be asking them to bid on future projects that we have.
The installers were great to work with - and very clean - also great set up with Greensky loan program!!!!
very pleased with the service and would recommend M&M to my friends
I am still working with them. They did not resolve the issue that I hired them to resolve.
They did a very good job.
I would recommend to any neighbor that wants one.
I'd really like to recommend them. Unfortunately, my brand new roof leaks. M&M hasn't exactly been willing to resolve the problem.
Excellence started from my initial consult with Marc Godard. He was honest, transparent, knowledgeable and not overbearing or pushy for a sale. He worked with my wife and I and the quality of work was unmatched. Definitely an awesome experience all around.
They did a great job.
The Sales person (Brad Hoffman) was pleasant and professional, explaining each of the steps of process and what to expect. M&M kept me informed through-out the process and stayed on schedule. I had both my roof and gutters replaced, both crews complete the jobs each within one day. I have a large roof area and could not believe they completed it all in one day. Overall very happy and would recommend M&M.
