Since our founding in Clearwater, the YMCA of the Suncoast has grown from its first facility in 1965 to its newest in Citrus County in May 2016. At the time it opened, the Clearwater YMCA was one of the largest YMCAs in the country. In more than 60 years, our footprint has not just grown, but flourished and made an impact on the communities we serve, especially in youth development. I used to live in Lansbrook - I have been 25 minutes away for 5 years, but I still choose to come to this Y - the staff is terrific: friendly, knowledgeable and the facility is terrific. I had not used the equipment room for a long time, but I have rediscovered it and it is amazing. Would recommend it to anyone.

Pay more attention to the tennis program, especially the maintenance of the clay courts. Redo the hard courts, 5 and 6!

The fitness room is missing several key pieces of equipment. A kickback machine and a standing calf raise machine are standard equipment at almost every gym. please bring back that equipment. Thank you.

There has been a significant and noticeable improvement in all areas since Kari became the Executive Director, except one. My reason for the 7 is that I cannot recommend that a tennis player play at the Y. Between the physical conditions of the courts, which includes the total lack of consideration for tennis players regarding court 3, and what appears to be, for lack of a better term, a lack of caring when we mention issues, the tennis experience is a 3 at best. (That is a lot of use of the word "lack" :-) ). Or, to give the benefit of the doubt, maybe the staff reacts the way they do out of frustration that they don't know how to help or their hands are tied to help.
