All the fitness class instructors are awesome. They encourage, support and inspire me to keep going, do more and make my day better because of their smiling faces and fun approach.
The group exercise classes are great, and so are the instructors.
Membership is too expensive
Only drawback is expense. $50.00/ month too much for this senior citizen
You guys are very polite and serve customers with smiles that deserve respect and I highly recommend others to join the Big Y
The Precor equipment is the nicest of any gym I’ve ever been to
Location and amenities meet my needs.
The renovations will make it a state of the art facility. The staff is always welcoming and regularly visible throughout the building, making you feel like a valued member.
I look forward to coming to YMCA twice a week. As soon as you enter into the front , I feel I belong there.
Micheal is super leading person there. He is so good how he approach members or member to be with his top manners and kind gestures. He is very committed to what he does for YMCA. He is also so trust worthy ...
I find Rocco in Gym is also so good how he treats and helps new commers with helping them how to use each machines.
He is very pleasant and willing to help us at any time when needed.
Thank you .
Need better class schedules and different classes like drumming and water and more silver sneakers
The John Geigle Y is a terrific place. Well rounded classes, good teachers, great facilities. Always helpful and friendly.
As a fan of yoga, pilates, and flow classes I find the Monday Wednesday Friday yoga classes to be my anchor for the week. They are very welcoming, challenging, great people, awesome teachers, and I look forward to those days all the time we live here!
staff is great, very knowledgeable and personable
I enjoy the fitness classes, however they are over crowded. I suggest making some changes…either allow less people to participate, use larger rooms or add more classes. Please don’t tell me that it’s because the snow birds are back. If that’s the case, you should be prepared for that to happen every year and to make the changes needed for everyone to participate and enjoy the YMCA. It’s not fair to cram as many people as possible into a room.
It's a well rounded place to get a great workout. But I've now had to quit Body Combat (my favorite class) because it's too loud. The new sound system (which is wonderful when used correctly) has been the final straw. The instructors ask during the first song if the sound is ok, then continually turn it up as the class goes along. Conveniently, the "noise meter" has been disconnected for some time so we can't tell exactly how loud it gets. One of the other ladies had to leave early Wed (Feb 11) because even after taking out her hearing aids and putting in earplugs, it was too much. I use earplugs too but it's not enough. The Y should be a place of health and wellness yet our hearing is regularly and consistently ignored. I am aware that others have complained, I've complained before myself, but there has been no change made (that isn't maintained over time).
Love my group clases, the instructors are excellent, my favorite class is Zumba with Nancy on Mondays at 11am, makes me happy.
Super clean, even with the construction!
This Y is very well managed and considers all members with very high standards. The gym associates are very helpful and friendly, and keeps the gym clean and in order. Also, the music volume is not extremely loud which makes working out more enjoyable and stress free (unlike the Palm Harbor Y which plays so loud that one can’t hear through our own earphones).
The class instructors are awesome and words cannot say enough to show gratitude.
It’s an excellent facility. Clean and well run.
I like the clean atmosphere, I will recommend it to my neighbor I want her to come with me, but I do wish the main exercise room was a little bigger, and that it would at least stay open until 10.PM
I love coming to the Y. It’s part of my daily routine.
Enjoy the atmosphere and the facility is top notch.
Classes need to have a capacity limit! They are overcrowded which make it impossible to get the appropriate equipment needed for the class
Great instructors and it looks like the facilites will be much improved once the upgrades ae complete
The St Pete branch has more offerings like a sauna
