I would advise a friend to do a thorough walk around their property when the work is completed to make sure there isn't an abundance of debris left.

I found everyone I had contact with to knowledgeable and thinking of my project.

Everything was done right, on time, as promised. Tyler was our sales rep, did a thorough inspection, documentation and recommendation for our roof. Friendly and knowledgeable. He even repaired a minor leak on his sales call. We adjusted the initial quote by adding in replacement of some punky clapboards on our dormers. Their price was competitive with other bids, though slightly higher. But I believe you get what you pay for. The entire job was done in one day, including a thorough clean up of the property. Brandon, the project manager did a great job also, as did the entire installation crew.

Quality work, timely fashion

My first roof repair ...so did a lot of research beforehand. This company really came through in an exceptional way from beginning to end.

We are extremely happy that we found James & Whitney to re-shingle our roof and replace the old shake shingle siding. The company responded faster than other companies we contacted and estimate was lower. Someone came out immediately to give us a quote and show us selections. We were very happy with the quality of the materials and the knowledge of the staff. They were able to schedule the work quickly and finished the job in short time. The work looks excellent.

It was the worse experience with a contractor I have ever had. They made a lot of promises that were never met. The biggest issue was they said a project manager would be on site every day to supervise. Talk to Jeremey Whitney of all the things that went wrong. I will say Jeremey did his best to try to make an awful situation right.

I am an elder in a fixed income so this big a project was stressful. The estimate was mid range within the estimates I received, but their customer service totally sold me on this company. They were patient, understanding, professional and just overall great to work with and I am happy how everything looks. There was a supervisor here each day and the crew members were hard working, polite and efficient. The entire house and garage was completed in a day and a half. They did an excellent job cleaning the yard and driveway before they left. I highly recommend them.

Well organized and did an excellent job. Cleaned up very well. Somewhat expensive, but the results justify it. They always respond promptly to emails and texts, which is a rare behavior with many contractors and their teams.

Sorry for the delay in responding. The issue of one skylight leaking was taken care of and has now been confirmed good by several storms. The main reason for my delay responding. The overall experience was very good, with great focus on doing the best job possible. While I would like to have seen locals doing the work, I must say the workmanship demonstrated good cooperation and understanding of the core values of your company with everyone involved.

He provided us with many addresses in southern Maine for us to actually see the final project. Scott MacDonald's crew did an excellent job! Your crew, both the roofing and the gutter crew, gave me a great quality job. BUT the communication skills of the roofing crew need to be addressed so that no one get the unprfessional behavior that I observed and endured. Thus I'm giving you a 3 star recommendation with reservations.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Job went smoothly. Old roof removed, new roof installed. Roof was done in a day. Yard was cleaned well. No issues. Roof looks great.

From start to finish, everything that was explained to me was done professionally and on schedule, even though we had an 8" snowstorm 2 days before the install, which did not phase anyone at James & Whitney. I was kept fully informed throughout the project and any questions I had were answered quickly through email or text. Now, I do not fear the wind, rain, or snow, and having peace of mind - priceless!

I have nothing but terrific things to say about the responsiveness of the initial inquiry, the quote process nor the work. The workers were incredibly efficient, the work was quality, and the site was totally cleaned. My only concern was that the bid was for more work than actually needed to be done or was done, and I had a hard time than I should have negotiating a reduction in cost for work bid but not accomplished. They need to work on this part, but it was resolved to my satisfaction. All in all a really good experience and very nice workers. Would definitely use again.
