Mark and Jeff make you feel as if your house is the only house they are building at a point in time

We had researched the various home builders in Habersham. Watermark had built the homes that we found to be the most interesting.
It was an easy choice to go with Mark and Jeff. The whole process was very easy and we were done sooner than we expected; a perfect example of under-promise and over-deliver.

The community is absolutely beautiful, and the people are warm and welcoming. The words that come to mind describing it here are tranquil, peaceful, quiet and relaxing.

The land company didn't get involved in the build. I didn't know I had the option to communicate with them until two months after the house was completed.

Quality design, quality performance, quality to last in a historic live oak setting started hundreds of years ago

Working with Watermark to build our dream home was a great experience from beginning to end. They had our full trust and we were always comfortable that they put our best interests first. Building a new home from over one thousand miles away takes a good partnership and great communication. We are so pleased with our new home, I wouldn't change a thing!

Despite the problems associated with Covid shortages the planning of our home went smoothly. Allen made sure our home was everything we wanted and more. There is no equal to a Patterson built home.

I came under budget which is huge in an expensive build. Allen Patterson builders do quality and excellent work. I’d highly recommend them over other builders in Habersham.

Gooding and the architect were very responsive and accommodating in the design of the house, incorporating our wish list of features and working with a tight building lot. The quality of construction and the outcome of the project are satisfying. We very quickly felt like our new house was home. Our primary concerns are in the areas of establishing reasonable allowances and communicating the same; being open and flexible in terms of doing things other than “the way we’ve always done it;” and feeling some sense of urgency in project schedule.

Building our dream home with WaterMark Coastal Homes was exceptional from start to finish. The design process was easy for us as we tweaked their timeless house plans of the River Place Cottage. Jeff Thomas worked with us to adapt the design for our space and decorating needs. Marc Hayward was on site every day dealing with the planning and construction of the house, garage and golf cart structure. Marc’s attention to detail and his hands-on style was truly evident in the finished product. My husband and I felt comfortable knowing WaterMark would use quality materials and reliable and professional subcontractors. I can truly say, our dream home exceeded our expectations.

The home still has not been completely finished and we're tired of the brick wall when we try to get communication from team.

I would recommend APB to friends. I would advise them on areas to stay on top of including communications, build supervision and timeline expectations.

Josh Brant was onsite every day, paid meticulous attention to detail, has great subcontractors and close working relationships with them, and just does an outstanding job. I can’t recommend him enough.

Brant Construction listens to the customer, delivers a quality product and customer experience.

Overall, we were very pleased with our experience with Artisan. However, there were a few significant issues, which I will note below.

Watermark is an exceptional home building company - Jeff and Marc are well organized, professional and a pleasure to work with. We could not be more pleased with the quality of our new home.

My experience was top notch. The home Artisan built completely met our expectations and then some!

Our experience with Brant Construction was excellent: generous, thorough, and timely. Brant Construction paid great attention to our project and showed diligence throughout. We are very satisfied with the results.

While we recognize that Artisan has been impacted like everyone else by supply chain and labor issues, we felt their performance has be less than satisfactory. Communication, both internally between team members, and with us as a client has been very disappointing. Oversight of the work performed by their subcontractors (quality control) has also been poor, resulting in eight pages of punch list items at closing. Artisan's ability to address these unfinished or poorly executed items has also been disappointing. Three months after closing we're still waiting on a long list of repairs to be made, to the point where we've had to start contracting work out ourselves to get it done.

Overall we are very pleased with our new home!

I would recommend they verify the subs and project management ahead of time.

They were a marvelous builder.

We love the Artisan-designed features of our home and we believe the home is well built. Centerpoint is a disappointment as a vendor regarding quality of cabinets, installation, and response time. It also felt throughout the process that communication among Artisan employees was not good.

staff is always ready to help but sometimes seem very very busy so small issues or questions get extended

Overall, and with the many changes, I would recommend anyone to Artisan.This building process has taken longer than anyone anticipated mainly due to vendor materials, delays and changes within the company. I know Artisan takes great pride in their homes and it is reflected in my home.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience building with Gooding Contractors. They were wonderful to work with: responsive, flexible, accommodating, knowledgeable and I trusted them completely. Every detail of the workmanship on the house is exceptional quality, as is the design. I was able to modify the original plan a bit to accommodate my needs, and the architect and Gooding did a great job of accomplishing those changes. I had only a few minor items when we did the punch list, and have found only a few minor issues since moving into the house. I would never have had the guts to build a new house at this stage in my life if I hadn’t been working with Gooding! And, I should add, I was building right in the middle of the huge supply delays and shortage of skilled crafts people caused by Covid-19 and other global problems.

Project poorly managed, mistakes made constantly

Every person that I came in contact with at Artisan was professional and easy to work with. We are so pleased with our home and would highly recommend this company to build your next home.

Clearly and upfront, Gooding Contractors are a well managed operation. Further, they never bulked at our needs and design ideas. They always seriously considered them and worked to make them happen.

We were told by many people, including former customers of Artisan Custom Homes, that the Company built high quality custom homes, that they listened to their clients, and that they delivered results.

We were told that, "you really don't need all the contracts nor paperwork, because Henry Vala and Terry Owens meet all commitments
and go the extra mile to satisfy the Customer."

From our experience, the quality of construction from Artisan Custom Homes is superior but the inability to deliver a quality Product on time and the inability to successfully follow up on commitments is not acceptable.

From our perspective Artisan Custom Homes has overextended itself.
This has seriously hurt the reputation of the Company.

You cannot blame the inability to deliver a final product on Covid and Supply Chain issues.

We signed a contract in July of 2020 with the expectation that our house would be completed in 8 months of approval by Habersham Board.
Approval was received by Habersham Board in October 2020
The house should have been completed in June of 2021
We closed and moved into the house in mid October 2021 (4 months late)

We recognized that there would be some unfinished issues, however, the reality was worse than expected.

We had been told that the closing process would be seamless.
There would be "3 to 4 different sets of eyes screening the finished product (to include Terry of Henry) to insure everything met standard".

We closed and had our walk thru on Friday October 8th.
We were missing towel racks, and toilet paper holders in both bathrooms.
There was a punch list with over 20 items to be completed.
The house had not even been cleaned.
There was construction materials and sawdust on the floors
We were told that a cleaning crew would be in on Saturday morning to clean the house.
They never showed.

My wife and I had to clean and scrub the floors on Sunday, since delivery of our furniture was Monday, October 11th.

It is now December 10th, 2 months since closing and 14 months since we got approval from the Habersham Board for our house.
We still do not have a gas range/oven nor a GE dryer and no firm future delivery date for either
We went to Lowes and bought a range/oven and dryer to use in the interim.

Kathryn's art studio (attached to the garage) is still not completed, we still have painting that needs to be redone, and a significant amount
of adhesive to be removed from Artemis flooring on the front porch, the screened in porch, and the back landing.

Given all of the items listed above, do you think you are living up to the standards that you list on your own website?

We have already recommended to friends and are always pleased to show our beautiful home.

We could not have picked a more difficult time to build a new home during COVID, escalating prices, material shortages, and long lead times for appliances, furniture, building supplies and staffing difficulties. He did the best he could while juggling these difficult circumstances.

The entire Allen Patterson team are professionals. Each is knowledgeable about their role and have customer satisfaction as a priority. The quality of the construction and attention to detail is amazing. I highly recommend them.

Brant Construction was the best. We interviewed 3 firms and selected Brant because we believed they had our best interests in mind. They proved we made the correct choice from their first days on the site until completion. We communicated with them weekly and they sent progress pictures every Friday. I would recommend them to anyone!

They were a pleasure to work with. They had challenges due to Covid, but they worked very hard, and communicated with us very well.

We are completely satisfied! And have already put the word out to some friends considering building a home in Habersham

I could not be happier living in Habersham. The commitment to the care of our community is absolutely outstanding. The people are friendly, kind and thoughtful. We are very grateful for the blessing of living here!

I know of the architects and planners of the project. I am a retired architect and met some of them during my continuing education classes. I know Seaside and I am familiar with them and their work. They do a great job.

We experienced quality builders who were attentive to our concepts and concerns. Guidance through material and fixture selections aided us when we were at times unsure of how to best proceed to get a better over-all result.

Habersham was all around the greatest building experience we had, and we have built seven homes.

We are very pleased with the Habersham community and family and professionals, and we love the serene and beautiful atmosphere here.

Additional Comments - Habersham sales personnel... in particular, Heather Sheehan... were very helpful throughout the purchase process. We were comfortable that our interests were being looked-out for and that liaison and follow-up with the builder could be counted on.
