Founder Mario Espindola started on roofs in 1985 as a 16-year-old apprentice and founded Econo Roofing with his brother in 1996 with one truck and a three-person crew. Today we're a 20-person team, still under the same family ownership, and Mario is still on roofs. He or one of his foremen personally walks every roof we quote, reviews every project scope before work begins, and inspects the finished job before the crew leaves. We're not a national chain or a private-equity rollup, and we don't hand your roof to subcontractors.
Econo Roofing is the only contractor based in Stanislaus or Merced County to hold all four top manufacturer certifications: Owens Corning Platinum Preferred, held since 2008, GAF Master Elite, GAF Gold Elite, and CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster. These aren't marketing badges. Each manufacturer audits our installs and tracks customer satisfaction, and the certification only stays active if our quality holds above their thresholds. It also lets us register the strongest warranties the manufacturers offer, including lifetime manufacturer and workmanship coverage on qualifying installations.
We're licensed under CSLB #749551, verifiable at cslb.ca.gov, bonded, insured with general liability and full workers compensation coverage, and rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau. Our services run past 20 in total: roof repair and leak diagnosis, full tear-off and replacement, residential and commercial systems including flat roofs, TPO, EPDM and metal, solar roofing with roof-ready prep from one contractor, storm damage documentation and insurance claim support, free written inspections with photos, roof coatings, roof cleaning, and gutter installation, repair, and flashing work.
Our process is straightforward. We inspect the whole roof and tell you exactly what we find, put a flat-rate price and full scope of work in writing, do the work with your landscaping and property protected and a magnetic nail sweep at the end, then hand over warranty paperwork, photos of the completed work, and a written workmanship warranty before we go. Good for quick fixes but not someone you want putting on a roof or doing more advanced work. Definitely avoid the Dehart guys. They’re prideful, unhelpful and only want to do what they want to do. They take no input or direction from the homeowner.

I called Econo Roofing. The very next day, they showed up. Before Mario left, I had quotes for everything with regard to roofing, gutters, and insulation in the attic. He gave me a brochure of the products so I could choose colors and left his business card. I think they had a cancellation, so within four days of that, they were here to do the work. The crew and Edgar, the foreman, were amazing. They showed up on time, were respectful, and cleaned up. It was a great experience. We have never had an experience like that with any contractors we have had. We had a wonderful experience from the time I called them to the completion of the project. They let us know when the city inspector was coming to give us the information, and it was a very, very good experience.
