Damaged HVAC equipment by dangling lines when installing siding. Staff used our external outlets and blew the circuits but never advised us. One window and possibly more do not appear to have been sealed and allow a huge degree of air to enter the house when the wind blows. Initially three windows would not open after the windows had the HVAC lines run over the window closures, had to convince the installers that this was a “no go” if they left it that way. They shared they did not know anything about the HVAC lines and had to have a trained person come and fix it, not sure why untrained staff were allowed to work on it in the first place. Failed to install backing electrical boxes for three removed exterior lights. When replacing exterior outlets, they were wired with hot and neutral reversed and I was told they were ok, I disagreed and showed why they were wired incorrectly and were unsafe. One outlet and connection by the sliding door has never had power after the work was “completed” and it appears to have either been disconnected from the wiring or it is incorrectly wired causing some concern over the potential for a fire. Removal of exterior screen door and storm window do not fit the “as left”siding changes to the extent that the worked did not mount either the screen door nor the storm window. Staff on site observed and allowed a neighbor to measure the removed windows we had asked to be saved, those windows later disappeared and were believed to be and were reported as stolen. On installing my security system (to address the thievery issue) it appears that there is zero paint over the nails above a specific height on the siding. It is my understanding this is needed to prevent rust from developing on the nails and causing issues at a later date, it also looks unprofessional.
We confirmed prior to any work that the team would be able to do the above work, and were told that qualified workers would do the work.
Lastly, we have never had the final walkthrough, yet one of the workers advised us we had to hand them the final check for payment that the work was complete.
