My project was assigned for install when the general manager was away on vacation. The on-site supervisor I was assigned had only been on the job for less than a month. The installers did not speak English, and since the supervisor did not speak Spanish, information had to be translated back and forth via a cell phone call with the home office. As a result, a number of errors occurred:

1) I specifically said I did not want an air vent (to the bathroom fan) installed on the front of the house, and yet an hour later, one was installed and then had to be removed.
2) No one asked me whether I wanted the copper trim removed from my front portico and replaced with plastic (I did not), so that was done erroneously and then had to be redone in copper at a later time.
3) The installers did not pay attention to how the gutter guard end caps were installed, and thus did not replace them properly, so I had to have the assistant GM (Jacob, who was super nice and had to try to correct all these things that were not his fault) come back out here and fix all six of the end caps to fit correctly.
4) The installers flung the old roofing down the side of our screen porch so that it sliced one of the screens (no proper coverage of the porch to protect it), and it is still sliced, but I just needed the project to be over with, so I let it go.

That being said, now that the project is over, I like the look of the roof very much, and am satisfied with the final product. One of the reasons why I gave this project to Cenvar in the first place (I got 3 different bids) is because they were the only vendor who actually took the time to climb up into my attic and take photos to show me the damage occurring with my old 20+ year roof. I assumed that level of care would occur through the whole project - I do think that if the GM had not been on vacation, a lot of these communication issues would not have occurred in the first place, but I had waited so long for this install, they were trying to get me off the schedule. So, end result was great, but the install process was super bumpy and could use improvement. Hope that helps.

The guys were very professional and worked very hard to complete their job.

First morning on job site there was no one who spoke English for over 3 hours. Started tearing old shingles off and no plywood to cover garage doors and outdoor heat pump unit. It was a total disaster until project coordinator arrived 4 hrs. later with plywood. Broke out door landscape lights. They were replaced. Wrong style roof ridge vents were installed as to what i wanted when signing bid. A punch lists was completed after 2 day job was complete. went over with management and they will make all items good. I did go on and pay job off {unlike TV commercial statement} because i don't want redone until weather is warmer. Peter has been great to work with and CENVAR has gained my trust. After the punch list is complete my rating should improve. Peter was giving the list in detail and time line to as what happened in detail.

They are almost a 10 out of 10. And are the most affordable of anywhere. Believe me, we got tons of estimates!

I had a very positive experience with Cenvar, everyone was very easy to work with, they were knowledgeable and extremely helpful with any and all questions that I may have had. I would definitely recommend their company, their salesman is not pushy in anyway and definitely wants to make sure you fully understand their products and time frame that your project will have. Also everyone I spoke to within the company was very professional, knowledgeable and personable. They made sure the job was completed and done properly.

Thought the 5 dollar a foot was a little strong but all in all a nice job.

I was very disappointed with the initial shingles installed on the overhang on my bi-level home. The overhang has always been covered with shingles and previous installers never reported an issue with installing the shingles because of the angle. The job was completed near dusk so thorough evaluation wasn’t possible at that time.

When I returned from an errand the next morning, I was shocked to see the shingles were not in alignment. There were three crew members working on that section the day before. The first section appeared straight while the second section sloped downward to the right and the third section slanted downward even more. OBVIOUS EYESORE when approaching my home. Totally embarrassing when my tree guy dropped by on business and our conversation lead to when I was having my roof replaced. I said it has been. He said “really, wouldn’t pay a dime until the contractor corrects all of that”. Then he handed me a piece of paper with the name and phone number of another Roofing Company.

It's very hard to recommend a roofer in this area since there are no required inspections! I was not able to inspect the roof sheathing replacement or the dry in before it was quickly covered up. Without pictures or being able to watch the entire process how do I really know if the sheathing is staggered, the nailing is to standards and all the proper underlayments were used. That said, I am hard to please and a former Florida General Contractor and these guys are the better of what I have seen in this region of Virginia. 5 stars should not be given based on how the finished product looks but the entire process!
