The most important fact and consideration is, they do not know the County Codes. They installed a contraption of pipes to the outside of the house. The pipes extend approximately 30 ft long on the side of the house. One is approximately eight inches in diameter, the other is 3 inches in diameter. The pipes measure two feet from the ground at the lowest point and eight feet from the ground at the highest point. It is dark grey pipe attached to a white house. The New Service installation took over six months to complete the installation and troubleshoot the problems. However, a major problem remains. The breakers continue to trip on the two floors and in the basement. Even the outside electrical outlets trip the breakers. The most difficult issue to understand is, you do not even have to use a receptacle or a light fixture, and the breaker will be tripped when you check the Electrical Panel. Using kitchen appliances trips the breakers, the garbage disposal trips the breakers. Using lights, fans, TVs, space heaters, the vacuum cleaner all trip the breakers. General Manager, Mark Neal, came to the property on more than one occasion. He offered reasons, and excuses, regarding why the breakers were being tripped. Every "reason" was addressed by the onsite Pat Murphy Electric Technician. However, the breakers continue to trip. Computers shut down and the lights go out when you shower. The majority of the breakers are labeled, "receptacles." Nine Breakers have been identified as tripping regularly. During a phone conversation with Mark Neal in December, he offered to return my payment. Fortunately, that is saved on a voicemail. However, he changed his mind less than five days later. The above is a very kind version of the reality of the situation. There are numerous rooms, like the Master Bedroom and the Master Bathroom that you cannot use. It is not uncommon to go down the stairs and back up fifteen times a day to reset the breakers. The issue is still not resolved after 9 months. Realtors contacted for appraisals have all stated the contraption of pipes will negatively impact the value of the home. And the most important consideration is, the County Inspector will not give the home a rating of "Passed" until the electrical issues are resolved and it meets code. That means more time and more expense.
Very courteous team and very pleasant. Able to get work done quickly!
I am very satisfied. They did a great job!
I appreciate how Carlos, my electrician, takes the time to figure things out that aren't straightforward. His problem-solving skills are great and the way he communicates things back to me, the consumer that doesn't know anything. I appreciate his patience and communication.
I appreciated the level of professionalism and communication that Pat Murphy and team exhibited while working on my house. Their staff was knowledge, courteous and answered all of my questions.
The work was high quality and the customer service was great.
I tried three electrical companies to come out, and they were the only ones who did it right. I will only use them from now on.
The installers did not follow manufacturer's instructions.
They were really responsive. I got my appointment fairly quickly. Carlos was my technician, he was incredibly thorough. He has a great personality also.
I was not satisfied with the last electrician that they sent out. I wanted my outside lights to turn on with motion. He took it upon himself to go to Home Depot and purchase cheap lights that were hard to deal with. I requested to have LED lights installed. When he arrived back at my home, he was not pleasant with my wife. It ended up taking a lot of time and a lot of money for him to do the job.
They went above and beyond the call of duty with the issues they had to deal with.
Pat Murphy Electric is dependable, timely, and efficient.
The way they handled the estimate process was thorough and professional. They are customer focused and a pleasure to work with.
"Yes, I would recommend Pat Murphy Electric Inc to a friend "
The company is expensive!
I have been extremely pleased with Daniel, the electrician who has performed many jobs for me.
More than once I have had to call Pat Murphy for an electrical issue that needed immediate attention. They are always quick to respond and professional in their work.
Pat Murphy Electric performed an excellent job. They are very professional, and they were on time. The price was extremely reasonable.
Due to your professionalism and quality work, I have already recommended Pat Murphy Electric to 3 people that needed electrical services
Rates are a bit high even for the quality of the work
I'll start by saying the work that Pat Murphy electric did on the house ended up being very good. I'm happy with how it was completed, I liked the first set of technicians, and they worked hard to solve some of the challenges of our electrical work. The reason I wouldn't use them again is around their policies/procedures/communication.
The guys were a quarter of the way through my job, with holes cut into the walls and ceiling, when they tell me that they don't have the right parts (Covid sourcing issues), and they're going to have to install a second panel and will need to charge me extra. At that point, my walls and ceiling are cut open... I don't really have a lot of options. Rather than honoring their original pricing, I had to call the main office to request money back after the fact, because the technician wouldn't leave without me paying the extra. Poor customer service in my opinion. If you'd told me ahead of time that you couldn't get the parts, then I understand paying extra, but don't change the price on me part of the way through the job.
Secondly, I was twice told that "the office will call you to schedule." Never heard from the office.... I had to call them to schedule a second visit to finish up the work. When the guys left, the breakers were never mapped and labeled. Again, "the office will call you" to schedule a time for us to do it. Never heard anything, and didn't bother to call.
Finally, a couple months after the full electrical panel replacement was done, I found a circuit that wasn't working. Called the office, schedule a tech to come out. The guy arrives and first words out of his mouth after saying hello are "hopefully I don't have to charge to fix this." Turns out, Pat Murphy guys forgot to connect a wire behind the panel. Not a big deal. It was an easy fix and everything was working. Tech says "you're lucky, this is under warranty.".... no I'm not "lucky,"... you didn't finish the job. How about looking to see if you forgot to complete something before discussing charging me.
Long story short, I wouldn't use them again. The work was good, safe, etc. but the customer service could use some work.
Called Pat Murphy after a storm pulled the main electrical service out of our house. This was a major repair that required repairing extensive damage to the wiring as well as meeting new Dekalb County codes on an older home. We needed a good fast qualified contractor that could rewire a large percentage of the home and communicate with both our insurance adjuster and Dekalb County Inspectors. Will always be thankful that we hired Pat Murphy electrical and that Gerald was sent out to handle the project. We have recommended them to several people since that even based on their speed and knowledge of how to handle the situation.
We experienced a failure which required that the entire service that feeds our house be replaced. Pat Murphy coordinated with the power company to cut the power. They arrived on time and the team was neat, professional and performed the work in about 1/2 the time that we expected. We highly recommend Pat Murphy and will use them again when the need arises.
The work that Patrick Murphy Electric perfomed was done efficiently and works well.
I scheduled with PM to install (2) chandeliers in my home. When they arrived they said they would require some blocking due the weight and would get me rescheduled later in the week. I had to follow up twice to get them back and they said they never heard there was an issue. They drilled a hole in the ceiling too large for the fixture. I now have a jagged hole where the lighting hits the ceiling. They broke a shade on the chandelier and told me they would get it replaced. Didn't happen. The chandelier lights "surge" up and down when the light is on. I'm concerned about it, but I don't feel I can trust them. I would never recommend them.
Pat Murphy continues to set the standard for household electrical work in the Atlanta area. ALL of their electricians I have dealt with have been exceptionally knowledgeable and capable. My most recent experience involved tracing down an electrical cable cut (never have you brother-in-law do electrical work no matter how much they want to) in my attic and installing a bypass down behind drywall. Pat Murphy has the tools and the people to do the job right.
Communicates well about arrival times, shows up at the time they communicated, professional expertise
The service technician(s) did not finish the job. I am discovering a light does not have power and the electrical outlet repaired is inoperable.
Their electrician explained what he was doing and why. He really understood his craft. I felt more knowledgeable about the electricity in my home when he finished.
Showed up at correct time and date which is important as I work during day. Thorough assessment of work to be done. Work was promptly finished.
I thought the details of the job were lacking. There was equipment left at my home. I thought they were overpriced, relative to what I can find in an independent and qualified electrician myself.
They left items that were in the contract unfinished. They wrote them down and charged me for them without doing the work. I did not notice that they did not finish the work until after they had left. The two times they came out they told me they were going to call the power company to let them know about the flickering lights. The thought the flickering issue was on the power company's side. They never called them. I called the office directly and they called the power company. The power company came out and fixed the issue with the outside lines.
They were very professional. They came out, worked hard, got everything done, and cleaned up their mess. I was very pleased.
They are very good. I am very pleased and I highly recommend them.
I would recommend Pat Murphy Electric without any doubt.
Prompt service, knowledgeable staff and efficiency
Two electricians came to fix some lighting in my home and while they were here one of them got a good shock because they forgot to turn off the breaker. It was like having dumb and dumber in my home. They put the switch plate switches back in upside down, by this time I just wanted them out of my house and just had them leave it upside down. Over all they were very unprofessional and inexperienced.
Reliability and they know old houses.
They did an excellent job, were honest and were very thorough.
They were very prompt with their service. They came the day after I called and met with me to schedule the job; they showed up on on the scheduled date and were on time. When they came in, they thought they need a lift and supplied the lift. They knocked the job out with very little noise; they did a fantastic job!
I was not 100% satisfied as they did not meet the time requirements that they stated and had to come back several times to get the work done approved by the county.
Excellent service and great work.
Exceptional, competent, and caring service!
My electrician was very knowledgeable and we had trust in what he was doing. He did an excellent job.
Kate said she has been using Pat Murphy for years, and the work they do is perfect.
on time; fair price; professional, knowledgeable service people
I was satisfied with how everything was handled.
They were very professional and the quote they gave her from the beginning remained the same.
They did good quality for me. I tried someone else, but they couldn't get the done.
They provided good, quick service. They did quality work. However, I felt that the pricing was high.
