What a skilled, attentive, thoughtful and thoroughly detailed team! Megan (design) and Kenny (lead carpenter) and everyone we interacted with throughout the process brought to the table expertise, skill, craft and genuine desire to understand what we wanted (even, and especially, when we weren't sure what we wanted!) and to deliver on it. Knocked out a wall in an old house to expand a small kitchen, while redoing two bathrooms at the same time. Complex project in an old house, and they made it feel immensely better while still feeling like "home." They were transparent at every step, including scheduling and the inevitable unforeseen things (old house, supply chain) that can come up -- and very good at helping us anticipate potential known unknowns. In short, they treat you how I'm sure they would want to be treated, backed by their great skills and project management.

This is one of the best experiences we have had dealing with house work/construction. We needed to add on rooms in our unfinished basement, mind you on a semi-hard timeline due to our family expanding. The whole team was very transparent, well-experienced and a pleasure to communicate with. We were not pushed to go over our budget for alternate selections. We laid out what we needed, and they executed it to perfection. Even through the minor hiccups and needed alterations, they were very lenient to make it easy on us and keep the project going. I cannot recommend them enough and can’t wait until our next project for them to complete.

Thorough, thoughtful, professional, punctual

Our kitchen remodel was extensive, and J. T. McDermott was very thorough in making sure any unknown issues, such as a repair to the roof on our bay window, were taken into account so there would be no future problems with leaking after the remodel. A repair to the subfloor to remove squeaky areas and level the floor was built into the project in advance, and a surprise plumbing issue was handled very well during construction. In addition, almost two months after completion, Josh McDermott came over to review the work and found a few small issues that need attention, and I greatly appreciate knowing that those things will be fixed. It’s very reassuring to know that we can count on them to resolve any issues that may not have been noticed earlier or may arise with usage.

Very professional and organiized with good communication

The kiechen that J.T. McDermott installed helped us sell our house for $250,000 above what we paid for the house 3 1/2 years ago. I really think it was the brand new, high quality, superbly designed kitchen that sparked a bidding war between potential buyers that pushed the sale price $100,000 above asking.

It was easy to work with everyone on the McDermott team, from the designers and planners to the installers. I can't speak more highly of this company. I appreciate the fact that McDermott is a family business rather than a chain or big box solution.

My kitchen and family room are beautiful! I am very happy with the choices I made for the complete remodeling of both rooms. Dave answered all my questions, took care of any concerns, and saw to it that the project moved along as scheduled. Brittany also was very helpful in answering questions, making suggestions, and getting me to final decisions that I was happy with. Ron was helpful when I had questions about miscellaneous work done elsewhere in the house, such as additional new doors.

We used JTM for an extensive bathroom remodel, where everything had to be updated or redone. We chose them not because they had the cheapest estimate, but because of the value of the quality services they offered. And now that the project is completed, we are very glad that we did! They handled everything for us on the project, offering extensive help throughout the design process, and overseeing the entire build. They communicated well, were responsive, and addressed any problems quickly and reasonably. The results are beautiful thanks to the quality workmanship. I would happily consider them again for any project in our house!

We are very happy with the finished basement that J.T. McDermott built for us. We enjoyed working with our designer and the process was a pleasure. The overall quality is really good. We had a few more issues along the way than we would have anticipated as can sometimes happen with projects the size of ours, but the J.T. We needed to make things more handicap accessible but wasn't sure if we wanted to move or invest the money in the home we already had.
