Great facilities with excellent staff & leadership
Nice place. Friendly staff. Lots of programs
Always a pleasure
As stated below, I use the Y mostly for pickle ball. I do recommend it to people looking for not only a place to play, but a place to develop friendships and feel a sense of community. I give this credit to Judy Mann.
The exercise room is small and broken equipment is not repaired or replaced in a timely manner. But staff and other members especially the pickle ball coordinators are Fantastic
In addition, I’ve looked accross several local Y programs -none offer a Senior Basketball program or time slot. No we seniors do not enjoy playing with 18 year olds and they feel like wise. Thanks
Very welcoming at Ridgecrest Y
Every new member I meet always says what a great Silver Sneakers Class we have. It's fun and doesn't feel like a workout but it sure is. From all of the staff to the members, it feels like family.
Disappointed in the cycling bikes not being fixed. There are 15 bikes and at least 6 are not working properly.
People are very friendly. I like the diversity in the membership.
The pickleball there is the best!
Anyone that is at the desk at the front door is always friendly. I only go there for one class and the class is awesome. I have made friends there and I hate missing a day but sometimes that’s necessary.
Dropped my favorite class, stretch Yoga with Jennifer Fridays. Boooo
Everything
More workout machines in weight room.
No one never contacted us about the swimming lessons
Improve the # of pickleball courts by 2 giving us 6. Expand the workout rm and possibly out a window to make it leas claustrophobic
Great place
During pickleball the games are not fairly distributed. Favorites are played meaning, some are given priority over others. Some are allowed to fudge the line
I love the water exercise classes. Karen is professional, responsible, and friendly! Lifeguard Davys is a wonderful addition to the team. So helpful and friendly, a real superstar!
I love it there and the staff are helpful and friendly.
Always pleasant staff & they know us by 1st names which makes us feel like part of the YMCA community.
I never was contacted after leaving numerous messages for the director. Not even sure why a survey was sent to me for completion.
Everything, the staff, the people.
I joined from the highland Y and really liked the cycling followed by a yoga or other floor exercise group. That no longer being available, I’m disinclined to drive the 20 minutes twice weekly for just the cycling.
The class seemed very disorganized. Student only spent approx 3 mins receiving instruction and it seemed unfocused. Sick students were allowed to attend and were coughing all over classmates. Our student showed no improvement in skills. Highly disappointed.
Tiara is such a wonderful mentor to all the children. She is strict when she needs be but she has such a kind heart ❤️ She always has a positive attitude and always seems so happy to be there! Tiara has mentored my granddaughter for 6 years and it was money well spent!
Well run Pickleball program. Lots of fun. Staff are super friendly.
The M/W/F Chair class very fun and the folks that attend have become family to me. Sheri makes everyone feel important and we love to laugh with her along with getting a good workout. 👍
Bikes are not maintained well.
Having only ONE family swimming time is NOT worth the membership fee.
Staff is always friendly and ready to help. Pool is great and have fun playing pickleball.
Especially the water exercise classes. Karen is the best!
Lots of fun and very welcoming staff and members
Very friendly.
We only go for Spin Class Spin bikes are dying left, and right they have been told about the batteries in them for half a year now and not one bike has been fixed. It's clear they don't want us there.
Friendly staff, good facilities, not too crowded
The weight lifting facility could use some attention. When there are more than 2 people in there, it can be very difficult to maneuver around. More space, as well as more machine and free weight options would make getting a full workout much easier.
Convenient and the facilities I use are usually available when I want to use them
The staff creates positive comfortable atmosphere and it feels like being a part of the family there
I found THE RIDGECREST YMCA after my husband passed away. This Y and all the employees have given me a new lease on life. Every time I enter and leave after pickle ball I am greeted with smiles and encouragement. I have made many friends playing at this YMCA. I am truly grateful to have this extended family. Patricia
Offer more classes for adults (cycling, body pump, floor workouts, weight classes). The locker room needs improvement; there are no hooks or chairs for towels. Benches are in a separate room.
Swim program
We enjoyed Ridgecrest YMCA while we were in Florida early in the month. We only join for the time we are there as we live full time in Michigan. We enjoy playing pickleball and using the weight room at the Y. The staff are always helpful and friendly. We'll see you next year.
Judy, along with Gerry & other volunteers, has put together an amazing pickleball family. It's the best combination of sports & social activity ever! Her ability to match players by skill level makes it my favorite place to play indoor pickleball.
Easy to access and variety of programs.
People should not bang doors during YOGA class. Put a sign on the door class in session. YOGA class should not be squeezed into a room that has hard chairs, no ventilation, and no room. We are your paying customers but are treated poorly. I admire your service to the children of the community; perhaps there should be no adult classes those weeks since your building cannot accommodate both.
Pickleball is a great program and Judy does amazing activities for the group
Silver Sneakers
Ridgecrest has provided a great place for my daughterâs swim team.
My daughter is on the wfla swim team and it is great. I feel bad so many drippy kids and swim bags have to go through the gym. Even respectfully, it interrupts the activities in there. If they could exit a side or back gate, it would remove friction. There is no check out process they have to do to leave through the front. The staff is great!
