We will recommend and we have had many compliments on the color choice and look of it.

Cory has the detailed email about the concerns. I can't maintain continuous communication with him about solving these.

1. Gutter Covers (LeafFilter) Damaged by the crew - new gutter cover was offered by the owner, agreed to inspect existing filter by the original installer and get a quote for restoration because it fits our needs more and perhaps it's cheaper to restore than install new system. Rail Roofing Group owner agreed to pay the $95 inspection fee. It's not clarified how will it be paid.

2. Missing Rain Guard - Crew removed, never put it back. This will be addressed along with point 1.

3. Missing Flashing - solution is already in place, work halted by Rail Group, not able to get a plan when will it be continued

4. Uneven Roof Edge - need to be fixed, no plan yet other than the entire new roof replacement offered by the owner of Rail Roofing Group but it can only take place in September or October as per Cory when the weather is cooler and the issues mentioned in point number 6 can be avoided.

5. Tar Marks and Shingle Damage - Rail Roofing Group owner offered entire roof replacement to address this, but it must take place in September or October as per Cory.

9. Ruined Tree - crew damaged/tilted a Japanese Pine Tree at the entrance. No solution offered, a 3rd party gardener vendor hired by us will assess the tree. It would be great if an offer comes from the company too (other than silence).

My wife and I are very happy with the job Rail company did replacing our roof and installing new gutters, we were amazed how they can remove and install a whole roof in one day, while protecting our landscaping etc. and no mess when they were done.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. They used subcontractors to do the work. 1 rep from the company was there as the roof was getting done. He was the only one that spoke English and he didn’t know how to speak Spanish to communicate the things I was pointing out as they were getting done. When they finished up on day 1 the rep from the contractor told me he was leaving 4 extra bundles of shingles to make up for all of the things that I pointed out to him. “I’m not saying what to write but just so you don’t say anything bad”. It took 5 more weeks to get everything looking ok. I’m still not happy with it at all.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend Rail Construction Company. My fascia and sub fascia were completely rotted and also infected with wood worms and carpenter ants. Instead of doing things the right way and having this problem fixed before replacing the roof, they went ahead and added pieces of new decking on top of the rotted wood and then installed the new shingles and called it a day. I was simply told that they do not work on areas other than the actual roof and that I would need to have this taken care of afterwards. The right thing for them to do would have been to pause the work on the roof until these problems could be fixed so as to have a good "foundation" for the roof. Honestly, I wish that I would have gone with a different company that would also take care of this type of work too since it's been a nightmare removing the damaged wood with all of the nails that they drove into it from the top while also trying not to damage the new drip edge and roof in the process. I really had high hopes when contracting this company but after this experience, I would not be able to recommend them to family and friends, knowing that they seem to care more about being done with a job as fast as possible without really caring about doing things right for the customer.

Jim answered my call and made an appointment to come out to the house the very next week. He arrived on time and had done his homework. He came with an overheard printout of the house and garage and already had a proposal for the work!!! They started the very next week and were done in ONE DAY!!! (and it looks great!)
