Joey was very accommodating, helpful and did a great job.
They did a fantastic job working with my insurance company. With the material shortages I felt they were prompt in getting my roof changed out. Because of the holidays there were some misunderstandings but I didn’t feel forgotten.
I would have liked all parts to have been there. They did help me out.
I agree with the review submitted by Shawn W. I am also a home owner in NC and am having the same type of experience. I signed the contract with Michael Reale on January 23, 2019, for the Platinum Roofing System that carries a lifetime warranty and which carries a higher cost and was told production would contact me within three (3) weeks to set up the date for material delivery and roof installation. I showed Mr. Reale what appeared to be a possible leak from the roof that was coming into the wall and told him I was anxious to have the roof replaced as soon as possible to prevent any more damage in the wall. When I did not hear from production after 4+ weeks, I called to follow up. Michael Reale told me he would check with production and would be back in touch. After couple more weeks went by, I called and left voicemail message. I then received a text message from him on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, in which he acknowledged my voicemail message and said he ""spoke with production yesterday and materials will be dropped by end of next week,"" which would be the week of April 8-12, 2019. By Wednesday, April 17, no materials were dropped off and nor had I received a call from Mr. Reale or from production. I then called Mr. Reale and asked who he had spoken with in production. He told me Nita Marks, who works in the office, but when I called her, she told me she didn't understand why he gave her name and number to me since she has nothing to do with production. I then told Mr. Reale I wanted a refund of my deposit, and he told me I had to speak with Joey Messina, the owner. Mr. Messina then told me that the delivery had been moved out to the week of April 22-26 (which did not happen); but in the meantime, I found out on April 23 that the Platinum roofing lifetime warranty would not apply to the flat roof portion of my roof, even though it is written on the contract ""Platinum roofing system estate gray duration & gray modified flat roofing."" Mr. Reale also verbally confirmed that the flat roofing would be included under the Platinum roofing system warranty since that was an important point with me, I advised Mr. Messina that I would not have signed the contract had I known the flat roofing would not be covered under the lifetime warranty. He then tried to tell me that according to the pictures in my file, shingles would work on that part of the roof & then the entire roof would be covered. I was hesitant doing that since I know the slope of that area is less than 2/12, and shingles should not be installed on a roof with a pitch that low. I was also surprised he would say that shingles would work since Mr. Reale had come to my house and confirmed that the pitch was too low for shingles. Owens Corning also confirmed that if shingles are put on a roof with slope less than 2/12, it would be considered an application error and would not be covered under the Platinum warranty. I have repeatedly asked Mr. Messina for a refund given these and other circumstances, but the only offer was for me to pay a 25% cancellation fee, which would amount to $3,525, which I refused since I was deceived about the warranty, the delivery dates for materials, and the production contact. (There were other issues as well, but will stop here due to length of review.) I then engaged an attorney and filed a complaint with the NC Attorney Generals office, the Better Business Bureau, and Owens Corning.
After receiving no resolution from Joey Messina, owner of Professional Roof Applicators, my attorney sent Mr. Messina a letter reiterating the issues listed in my Yelp review and demanding a full refund of my monies in the amount of $7,050. Per response from his attorney, the only offer was for me to pay the cancellation fee in the amount of $3,525, which my attorney said I should not have to pay, but we offered to discuss paying an amount less than the termination fee just to settle this dispute. However, the attorney never replied to our offer, even though my attorney sent a follow up letter to her and Mr. Messina.
I then filed a complaint with the NC Attorney Generals Office, who sent Mr. Messina three letters requesting that he state his position in the matter, and he never replied to any of the letters from them. I then sent Mr. Messina a text advising him that because I am a 71-year-old widow on a fixed income and not able to spend any more money, time and energy on this matter, I will pay the cancellation fee and to refund to me the amount I paid over and above the fee in the amount of $3,525, which is the difference between what I paid in the amount of $7,050 in January and the cancellation fee of $3,525. He replied, ""I'll do better than that, can I call you tomorrow?"" I told him that would be fine, However, when we talked, he said he would try to refund to me all but $1,000 of my monies, but he would have to pay me in increments because he had other people asking for refunds & this is a slow time of the year, but I needed to take down the Yelp review because he said it was a ""killer"" and he was afraid he wouldn't be successful if it stays up. I told him I would take down the review if he would immediately refund to me the amount over and above the cancellation fee amount, which he is obligated to do per the contract terms. He replied that he is tired of fighting and that they are ""on the edge"" and if it stays up ""we will fail."" I again told him that I would not take down the review unless I received within 14 days the monies over and above the cancellation fee, which he had offered to pay when our attorneys got involved. Since he would not agree to do that, I then advised him I would be posting an addendum to my previous review on Yelp, as well as on Guild Quality and Houzz. As of today, I have not received any monies from Mr. Messina; and I cannot express enough my regret at having trusted Professional Roof Applicators, Joey Messina, and Michael Reale.
I am a home owner in North Carolina and after Hurricane Florence in October of 2018 I was referred to Joey Messina's company Professional Roof applicators for roof replacement of my home at Ocean Isle Beach NC and my mother's home at Sunset Beach NC. A contract was signed with his salesman Mike Reale on 11/3 and a 50% deposit of $7549.00 was paid.
Mike assured me both roofs would be completed before the end of 2018. After weekly documented emails/texts and phone calls to Mike and Joey over a 5 month period I finally decided to request a written refund on March 12, 2019 because the materials had never been delivered nor was any work ever completed. As of this writing Joey refuses to refund my money.
I have now filed a complaint with the NC Attorney General and filed a law suit in Wake County NC against Professional Roofing Applicators and Joey Messina. If you have experienced the same treatment with Mike Reale or Joey Messina I highly encourage you to do the same.

Either the other reviews on google are fake or Joey only takes care of clients in Houston. Don't put yourself in the position I'm in. Don't do business with this guy. He's bad news.
As of 11/5/2019 Joey Messina has made no efforts to refund my money.
Only random monthly phone calls and texts requesting I remove this review for him to be able to start a payment plan on the refund. He insists he is the victim here because other insurance claim clients won't pay him so he can't pay m
