I like the environment. It’s clean the equipment is well maintain, and the staff is very friendly.
Very friendly and welcoming. Big clean facility. Parking is very problematic.
Generally very good. One time recently showed up on a Monday during open hours (~6:15am) and the facility was closed with no indication of why, which gives me less confidence in the place as a whole. Could use more incline-adjustable benches, probably no need to have flat non-adjustable ones at all.
Parking is tough
The main reason I would not recommend the Plum Street YMCA is because the parking is horrible. It’s very frustrating to get there for a class and not have any parking and then have to find parking on the street and put money into the meter. And so often finding out, you don’t have any change to put in. That is the main reason I would not recommend the Plum Street YMCA. Overall, I enjoy the YMCA very much just the parking is so frustrating that I would never tell someone to become a member there because I would not want them to go through the frustration of dealing with this parking. One thing I will say very positive about the Plum Street YMCA is they have amazing people at the front counter. They are always so helpful and I truly appreciate them.
Friendly staff and others; love excellent classes with Beth; small facility; good condition; and very welcoming, including to seniors!
I like the variety of exercise machines that are available and the ease in using them.
Plum has warm, welcoming friendly staff as you come in. That is IF you can get a parking place. If that were easier, my score would be a 10. Please consider creating an exit for cars parked behind the building. It is dangerous to have to back out as people are driving straight through to exit. I have decided that I will return home if that's the only parking left.
Once inside, I find it to be clean, good signage and an excellent yoga class.
Plum Street is convenient for those of us who work downtown and I appreciate the extended opening hours. I am a little sad that most of the interesting classes are at Briggs, which is inconvenient, so I can't whole-heartedly recommend it.
I'd like longer weekend hours. Another recumbent bike would be good. Keep the hand sanitizers filled!
At least two times in the past year the gym did not open at 5:00 as scheduled. It’s very disappointing to wake up early and go to workout only to find that staff didn’t show up.
Also, it appears you have hired someone with vision impairment to patch a hole in the drywall. I would expect such shoddy work in a developing country, not at the Olympia Y. Another stupid thing is the painting a parking spot with an ADA designation that does not comply with ADA requirements. Now you have created a parking spot that nobody will park in. Absolute stupidity.
I’d rate higher, but parking is always an issue.
Welcoming, clean space. Almost never crowded. Cons: machines are dated.
I generally do not recommend things to people. I do, however, let people know that the Y "works for me."
Friendly staff, close to where I live, access to treadmill and weight machines, also new massage and cryo chairs
Parking is often a problem, I sometimes give up and go home.
age appropriate, good instruction, fun
I like the convenience of the location, the size of the facility, the layout of the gym, the people who work there, and the recovery lounge.
Parking??? It would be lovely to drive in and not worry about finding a free spot. Not the biggest crisis, but a little irritating. Otherwise, it’s a great place!
I appreciate having a convenient, friendly place to exercise. And I value the Y’s mission
Need abb machines
The Y is a welcoming, encouraging, and helpful place. My continued physical conditioning through the chair yoga class is enabling me to lead a more productive and active life.
Repair equipment better and faster
The hydro massage beds are amazing
Parking can be a problem ( nightmare) otherwise it would be a 10
