Response
Peachtree Company   On this particular job, there were several legitimate punch items that we did go back and address. However, the larger issue is that homeowner spent a large portion of his insurance proceeds, leaving him unable to pay us for the work we performed. Unfortunately, this did result in the customer-contractor relationship becoming rather confrontational and after 110 days of persistence on behalf of the company and resistance on behalf of the customer, he was able to procure the funds to pay his balance.

Peachtree Company   Regarding communicating with the crew, Marlon was the foreman on this job and he speaks perfect english. I was also present on the job numerous times on the day the roof was installed and Marlon and I both communicated clearly with the homeowner. The biggest issue with the roof is that we discovered there were two layers of plywood, both of which had significant rot. The homeowner insisted that all of the rotten wood be replaced but made it clear that he would not pay any more that was approved under his original financing agreement. Knowing that we would not be compensated for it, we went ahead and replaced what we absolutely had to in order to put the roof back together and complete the job. The rotten rafters tails that are mentioned here were also not included in the original scope and as he mentioned above, he was not willing to pay for us to repair them. Our contract specifically states that we are not responsible for pre-existing structural conditions. In response to the siding work, no deadlines were given for the work and due to the age of the home and complexity of the work, our siding subcontractor felt that this particular installer was best suited to do the work. The homeowner even mentioned on several occasions that the quality of the work was excellent, his only concern with the siding was the time it took to complete. Customer satisfaction is always our ultimate goal and we did the best that we could to achieve this on the job, given the circumstances. In the end, we spent more on the job than we even charged the customer.
