If you consider Nelson Exteriors for your repair/renovations work make sure you triple check their quote and contract, and make sure you are familiar with all the terms related to items that need repair or replacement. I received two quotes dated on the same day from the same sales representative. The second quote omitted an item needing attention and was not included in the second quote, but the price quoted was not reduced accordingly.

The Project Manager noted that several items needing repair or replacement had been overlooked by the salesperson. He prepared a third quote emailed to me for my electronic approval. The additional costs almost doubled the amount quoted originally and I felt pressured to sign a new contract quickly so as not to delay the repair crew.

It was about six weeks before we could have our house painted. I think some of that was beyond their control, but I think some of that is because they overbooked themselves and their workers.

I have already talked at great length to someone at Nelson Exteriors office with the problems we have with the job. The problems were organizational, problems with communication, and problems with them not actually doing what we had engaged them to do. We never had a problem with the work that was actually done, their workers were excellent. The problem was with the management and what management told the workers to do. I will say, when we had to call them, this one year later and do something over again that they had done incorrectly the first time they were reasonably prompt, they had a project manager that was extremely nice and apologetic, and to the best of their ability addressed the problem. Because we had to go through all of this, I would still not recommend them.

Very Satisfied with Previous Repairs.

The Nelson team was very professional, timely, and did a good job. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a deck replacement project.

It was a very a long project. Delivery of material was the end of 2024 for pricing. The siding work was completed around 1/24. I understood there may be a delay in painting, however not that it would be 3/12 before starting with completion 4/4. It was originally "completed" on 3/17. I would not say it was complete with one window missing shutters. I knew a shutter was in bad shape since it was laying in pieces in my front yard, however no one communicated to me that it was my responsibility to find a matching shutter. I had to leave town for a couple of weeks and when I got back I was told to find a matching shutter. Which I did and was installed on 4/4. At this time they replaced some rotten wood that was missed. After signing off on the work with Alexis, I have found a few issues - the old landline that went up the side of the house was rolled in a ball and thrown on the roof and they missed painting some of the trim on the screened in porch. That being said siding - good, painting - marginal.

The painters are not going to come out if it is cold weather or raining. They took the siding off and then put new siding on, but it was about 8 weeks before they were able to paint. That was a little concerning.

Same company for new trims and windows

They were very helpful and easy to work with. They tailored to our particular needs.

They were respectful and they showed a lot of craftsmanship.
