When we began our journey to find the right company to replace our very odd shaped 1700 sqft second story deck, we called 8 companies. 4 turned around and walked away and didn’t want to bid on such a challenging job. 2 were complete scam dogs and said they ‘could start next week and if we signed now, we could get a deal…’ we were left with 2 companies to choose from. We made our choice to use MasterDecks because they were the only ones that had the ability to design, engineer, permit and execute our deck to perfection. And they did. Our project was just shy of 2 years due to the headache the department of health put us through and a few other unforeseen circumstances that were out of our control, but MasterDecks was patient and helpful throughout our entire project. We were lucky enough to have a fantastic team to build our dream deck. We never actually met Ryan, but he was continuously working hard behind the scene. He was always available for asking questions and communicated regularly, even when we’re waiting for county for endless months. Tony was part of our design team and he was wonderful at understanding our needs and the fine details of our build. Then, the face of MasterDecks, the ones we saw everyday, were above and beyond. Mario was in charge of our deck project. His team for our deck was Jack and Heath and I am so thankful for all of them. Mario made several trips to our house before our project began and he even came out to meet with county to make sure he understood what they required so there would be no misunderstanding. Mario made sure the deck was perfect from beginning to end. The hard working backbone of our deck build was Jack and Heath. Man, what great workers. Jack and Heath worked so well together and they were on time everyday and worked in every condition without pause. Jack and Heath listened to our thoughts and concerns and their precision was amazing. From start to finish, Jack and Heath built us a beautiful deck!!!! The finishing touch of our deck was the undercover section. Again, it was complicated with lots of angles. Nick and Landyn made sure every cut was perfect and our undercover is completely water tight, making our lower deck another dry and cozy place to hang out.Thank you At MasterDecks, this was a Huge investment and you all made it a wonderful experience!

We are very pleased with the quality of work and getting our deck done as scheduled. Communication was clear and timely along the way. It was a a nice touch to use BuilderTrend to keep track of the project.

Master Decks exceeded my expectations every step of the way. Their project management system kept me informed of their progress daily. The entire crew is professional, personable and a pleasure to work with.

Overall, the team was very professional and I chose them as I believed the communication would be very strong. Most contractors I've worked with are lacking in this area. Once my project started I felt there was an overall lack of communication including not knowing when the crew would arrive on the first day. Lack of communication from the Field Quality Manager continued, though I was in strong communication with the onsite crew. Due to this, I didn't feel confident of what I had agreed to in my initial design consult and what had actually been installed for my deck. Overall, it was a stressful situation that Master Decks did remediate to ensure my expectations were met, but do feel like if there had been a check in by the Field Quality Manager or someone from the main office even once during the middle of the project it would have been a much better experience.

From the beginning of our project to the completion we could not have been more impressed or delighted with the results.What started as a one deck project, in an extremely difficult site, requiring geo permits for extended support work, and city permits had us so impressed with the workmanship, we expanded the project to three decks, ( one with an undercover), and walkways. The highest quality materials, were used, of course, but it was the patient managers and amazing skill of the highly talented carpenters and craftsmen , and engineering staff, that made us confident that our project would be perfect. After seeing the workmanship I couldn’t help but want to add more and I was always treated with kindness and patience. Masterdecks was willing to make changes and adapt to our difficult hillside and my extra ammenities. From the beginning tear down to the final clean up, we could not recommend Masterdecks any higher. This is a five star company.

We took the high end bid for our deck because this company seemed like it would respond to issues and work closely with a client. We were not disappointed.

Master Decks built us a deck we didn't think was possible. They're fun and easy to work with, they're good people who care about their quality of work, they communicate well during the entire process, and they're well coordinated internally to handle all aspects from permitting to construction/installation, electrical, and finishing. Would work with them again.

Masterdecks helped us design and then build an awesome 2nd story deck at our house in Ballard. Ashton was an awesome consultant for us on the front end of the process, helping me and my wife (who are not knowledgeable about this) to make decisions on materials, deck features, etc. Very easy to work with and responsive when we had questions. Once it was time to start building, the various crews were really sharp. They did an awesome job throughout the build process, were very respectful and flexible regarding our needs and space limitations, and got the job done quickly. This was super helpful as I work from home and we don't have a ton of space to maneuver. I specifically want to call out Heath for doing an amazing job on the build, often fighting really bad weather, and Ryan for keeping everything organized and making sure we were happy and satisfied at the end.

Very satisfied with design, quality, and look of deck with stairs and railing. Installation crew didn't rush or take any short cuts and did precision work. Deck flooring is Trex. I got to talk with a few of the crew but Josh and Edwin I believe were very helpful and did fantastic work. The Pavers under the deck also looks amazing! Highly recommend Master Decks. A little pricey but you are paying for quality! Very helpful staff and put me at ease whenever I had any questions or concerns. Hopefully won’t ever need a new deck but if I do, I’d gladly go with them again
