The LeafGuard installation crew reported on time. They were finished when they said they would be, and they cleaned up well when they were done. I have no problems with them. They were very professional.
The quality is good, but the price is a little pricey. One of the guys in the neighborhood seemed interested, but when I told him the price, he said he would wait.
Have had a couple hard rains. Gutters worked well.
Working with LeafGuard has been the worst experience I have ever had working with a company. I have actively told people not to work with LeafGuard. The gutters were initially installed ~3 months ago and were just recently "finished." I had to call, deal with unprofessional and rude management, and take time off of work, over 10 times because there was continually standing water in the gutters. I discovered substantial amounts of standing water in 6 sections of the gutters. Some of the sections had over 1 inch of water over 10-15 feet in the gutter. The gutters were continually "fixed," just to discover standing water in the exact same spot. One time the gutters were "fixed" by dropping the gutter ~6-7 inches over a 15 foot section. The gutter was dropped so far that the gutter was bent/creased. An extra strip of drip edge was added to cover the large gap between the shingles and the gutter. This was the "fix" and was going to be how they left it until I told them dropping the gutter ~6-7 inches over 15 feet and a crease in the gutter was unacceptable. I can't comprehend how a bent/creased gutter was an acceptable "fix" to the solution. The crew then proposed adding an additional downspout in the middle of the front of our house between the main windows to solve the standing water issue. Again, this was a ~15 foot span, this was not a large span of gutter, and a drop of 1-2 inches would be enough to have the water flow properly. After I said this was unacceptable, the assistant supervisor came out to look at the gutter and "discovered a screw in the facia board that was causing a dip in the gutter." A second crew came out on another date to replace the bent gutter and fix the problem. This time I was told they would send the "good" crew to fix it. This was about the 8th time they came out to fix the standing water issues. There are many other details I can give about the other times, but this is an example the highlights the incompetence I witnessed and frustration I experienced. Every time I asked the crew to confirm all of the standing water had been taken care of... and every time, I identified additional standing water in another section, or the issue was not fixed. I talked several times to the manager about the issues. The manager never came out to the site, even after I asked him to numerous times. The manager was very unprofessional (used a significant amount of curse words when talking to me on the phone), was combative, and evidently frustrated with me (even though I was the one experiencing the issues with gutters that were not functioning properly). Eventually the manager told me that the LeafGuard policy stated 1/4 inch of standing water over 10 feet was "acceptable." When I asked him for a copy of that documented this policy, he stated the policy said "icicles might be visible on the outside of the gutter." This is completely different than a policy that states standing water is acceptable. He was never able to send me a copy of the policy he referenced. I finally signed off on the gutters because the standing water issues had either finally been fixed (after the 10th visit) or there was a small amount of water (that will evaporate within a day or two). Overall, this was a VERY frustrating experience and as a result I will actively inform people about my negative experience and encourage them to avoid working with LeafGuard.
In addition, the LeafGuard system is the VERY expensive. And my experience with LeafGuard does not justify that price. I am still not fully satisfied with the gutters. The corners where the dripedges come together are not straight, the gaps are very large, and in sections the dripedge (from my perspective) look like they were not installed properly. There are a lot of leaves that are inside the gutter. The assistant supervisor who came to our house agreed that there are a lot of leaves in the gutters. I was never consulted on the installation of the additional "clean-outs/filters" in the downspouts. These are frustrating to me because they become packed with leaves and I have to now go to every downspout on a regular basis to clean them out. I was told that these are installed for gutters that have underground downspout systems. We do NOT have an underground downspout system. All of our downspouts come out into the yard above ground. So this additional filter is not needed for our gutter system, and is now the opposite of LeafGuards "install it and forget it" gutter system. I now have to actively clean out these filters due to the very high amount of leaves that are getting into the gutters and then packing these filters.
Time will tell how effective the gutter system remains at staying clog free. I'll have a better informed opinion late next spring.
I am 50/50 on that.
I would have liked for them to be able to install French drains and snake out pvc pipes
They did a fine job. We're very pleased with the gutters.
Professionalism and quality of work were excellent at every level (i.e. salesperson, installers, and management follow through)
The employees of LeafGuard are very professional, knowledgeable and informative. From the start of the project to the end of the project they were great.
I have and they installed LeafGuard a few months ago
I dumped LeafFilter for LeafGuard.
Contact me in a few years. I’ll let you know then. How can I recommend when I have no idea if they work?
The work was wonderful, and everything was fine. I have already recommended Leafguard.
I would if someone expressed a desire for this product
The installation was wonderful, but it took a long time to get someone to come and pick up debris left after the installation.
Great product and outstanding technicians who installed gutters.
I've already shared with others how thorough the assessment was, covering both the necessary items and recommended optional items to consider. And I do show-n-tell of the removable downspout cover that allows a check for debris (i.e., leaves) that has entered the system.
We have not had much rain since the leafguard was installed, but we have a lot of trees. I just watch the leaves blow right over the gutters. They used to pile up in the gutters. No worry about that anymore.
The sales representative to installation crews are great!
They were very knowledgeable and friendly.
I’ve had them on my home 3 times
I did not get the offers that are now on TV.
They did an excellent job.
They were professional and clean up behind themselves. They did a good job.
