I found out about HomeFix, at the big warehouse called BJ's. BJ's helps veterans and elderly people, so I thought HomeFix would be a good company. They sent a person out to talk with me that was not familiar with the ins and out of everything. He had to keep making calls. I told him I only wanted to spend around 9-11 thousand. He said that would be no problem. He discussed it with the manager, and they said it would be 11 thousand. I agreed with that. However, once I got the paperwork from the finance company, the job is totaled at 27 thousand dollars. I called them back and told them to send me the paperwork with the total cost of the job. It was 16 thousand. I told them to redo the contract, and charge me for 16,000. The work was for gutters on a small house and some paint on wooden pieces. I've been trying to reach them since April, and now we are into May. I have gotten no response. This company is a scam.
There were multiple aspects of the job that were wrong and had I not been in site would have been completed incorrectly. My job was scheduled to be completed Feb 12, 2024. Did not actually get completed until April 22, 2024.
Furthermore, the roofers and siding workers left access materials for me to have to deal with.
Cost maybe more than my friends
They provided great service and were very courteous. We had to reschedule and they were understanding and accommodating. They explained everything in detail. Everything turned out great.
I like the quality of the HomeFix Custom Windows. I would recommend them to a friend.
Great experience working with Matt (sales) and Bob (installer). Great communication through entire process and new windows installed make my home look new again.
Tech was very professional, informative and knowledgeable about the product.
Beautiful windows, crew went above and beyond to explain what was been done, how to operate the windows, and any damage found.
The siding looks good, but in my 50 years of doing construction- 33 years residential and then commercial- I have never done or had siding done that we did not replace or add flashing . At our meter box they j’d around it and then caulk. Our solar panel box is out of plumb- it was not when they started, I will fix. I had to re-run our antenna wires because they buried them and some how cut them. Instead of firing the siding under the rake boards the installed j molding and caulked to the J. Caulking is a band aid, it cracks or shears with age, it is not proper or professional installation. Nail were pick up based on what they could see- where was the magnetic broom. For $33,000 dollars I expected a professional job, this was fly-by Night. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
The quality and care of service is top notch, from the start of determining options to the end install. The team is highly professional with everything. Will recommend 10/10.
Not likely. No breakdowns on time/labor cost or materials. High pressure sales. Sign the contract same day as estimate or lose out on savings. Spent over $11k on our gutters promised shutters at no cost. Job wasn't completed to original agreement. Had to fight too get it remedied. Then shutters arrived and put on incorrectly and poorly. Had to wait for that to be corrected. Thankfully, it was done. Overall, spent too much money for the amount of headache and frustration and back and forth.
No pressure during the process
I am not likely to recommend due to the Sales Experience. Please refer to that comment for further clarification.
Quality windows expertly installed in a timely manner.
Very professional and attentive. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.
Makes it easy and affordable because having the
option to finance makes you feel like you are not being
pressured
HomeFix Custom Remodeling had great communication skills and everyone was very friendly.
The way the door was installed was professionally done. The gentlemen that installed the door did it efficiently. They went as far as installing a lock that was not necessarily included with my door, but they did it anyway. The door looks beautiful.
Good service and quality installation.
It was an outstanding service. They came prior to the estimated time, and they installed everything in one day. They did an amazing job.
I was visited by HomeFix Custom Remodeling (HCR) canvasser, which then led to a sales visit and later on an installer. The project involves replacing (effectively) two old aluminum windows that have caused a lot of heat leak (conversely, a cold draft) during cold days. They carry a selection of high-quality windows which perform quite well (I chose “Provia Endure” product line). It changed the game for the two rooms in which the windows were installed—they were no longer as drafty as before, now exposing the other sources of cold draft. Overall I was very happy that the windows were replaced—the replacement was a necessity to save energy and increase comfort in the long run.
The delivery of the windows happened to be earlier than originally promised, which was a welcome positive. The person who did the actual replacement was very courteous, professional, and friendly. He came on-time and finished promptly, no need for a second visit to address any issues. The entire replacement process took only half a day (if that long) and he left the job site in a clean slate as if nothing had happened. In the world of trade, where so many people are doing the job unprofessionally (and get away with bad workmanship), HCR’s installation is a welcome treat to homeowners.
I want to share a critical comment only on one thing, which is the marketing tactic. When the sale person had the information/marketing session, he gave a quote that was supposed to be good for one year. However, the price was unbearably high, presumably because it was treated as a "custom remodeling" project. However, the gentleman also said that as a marketing strategy, he would make my house a "sample house" for the neighborhood to feature the excellent workmanship of the company. He would give me a much lower price (almost half) but I have to commit on the spot. I have seen similar tactics employed by other companies, so this is not that unique (or that bad for that matter). My point is, if you are among the lucky ones with money to spare to obtain good remodeling results, use this company by all means. I am happy with all the people that I have been dealing with. However, if you are rather limited on the budget, you may not be able to afford their price. Perhaps if you have a strong negotiating skill, you may be able to get the price down further.
Very satisfied with the whole process , salesman very good, window quality very good, great warranty, order process faster than expected. very happy with the installer, very knowledgeable put down tarp to keep area clean removed and hauled away old windows caulked in new windows and replace old aluminum casing on outside. did a great job .
Excellent work
Very pleased with their performance to satisfy the customer and throughly explaining the process.
They are pricey.
I would not recommend the company to anyone.
HomeFix Custom Remodeling is a great company! I am very satisfied with the project they did. They cleaned up well after the installation, too.
They didn't finish the job. They left the top part of our door incomplete and looking worse than it started, and then just offered me a check for $150.00 to not come back to fix it. It will cost more than $150.00 to make it look right.
I have an eye appointment in the morning they were supposed to be there between 12 and two. I have an eye appointment in the morning they were there before I got back from my eye appointment which was about 1030, 11 o’clock they did excellent work and were very clean.
It would be nice if they had a flat fee, instead of this bargaining and negotiating for different prices.
Customer service was nice. My insurance adjuster checked the roof after the work was done and noticed some shingles missing. I called HCR and they sent someone out to fix it. When we had a heavy rain I had a leak and they came out and fixed it. The roof looks nice.
The installer was fast, efficient, and friendly. We enjoyed having him install our windows!
I was disappointed with problems (wrong shingles installed, gutters damaged), but upon notification Homefix immediately corrected the problems.
I had already recommended Homefix to a friend who then contracted with them to install a new entrance door. I hope that she does not experience problems like I did, but again, Homefix immediately corrected the problems with my project.
They were great to work with!
HomeFix Custom Remodeling Norfolk did a very good job and cleaned up. I had one issue, and they fixed it on the spot.
The job was finished on time with great workmanship. Area was clean and free of trash.
The crew came in, worked in a hurry, fixed everything they were supposed to fix, and the door looks good.
Don't know anyone needing doors.
The actual siding work was acceptable, but I'm out of patience with the inability to complete the job to my satisfaction (there's STILL trash in my yard) and the poor communication.
They have done two jobs for me, window and siding installation. The window installation was excellent with great workers. The salesperson was great and so was the quality of materials for my windows. The cleanup was also perfect. The siding job was not up to the same standards. They left a big mess. I have collected it all together in my backyard. They also put on the wrong style siding. I am not sure if I did not read the contract correctly or not. I did not discover it until a few days after the installation was complete. Furthermore, I am not sure if I want them to come back and redo everything, nor am I sure what to do about it.
I was perfectly satisfied with what they had done.
Timely service work completed on time
They did an excellent job.
Have problems with windows two appointments to come fix. First time cancel no big deal second time no show.
I would not recommend HomeFix Custom Remodeling to anyone.
Everyone was courteous, kind, smiley, and great to work with. Everything was fine.
window crew were efficient, polite & cleaned up everything. One window broke-cracked from corner to corner but assured it will be replaced. Outlet cover on deck disappeared. (Electrical)
Not likely. Service was nonexistent, poor, and given as a last resort
They say one thing on the front end and do something else on the back end. They do not live up to what they say they will do.
I was referred by a friend and I will also pass on this company to others in need of these types of services
