The gym
Locker room could be cleaner and more modern
The weight room, clean showers!
Nice clean place, friendly people.
Keep the pool open year round, music in the weight room
i love that its geared towards the youth
Clean shower, great equipment, supervise the kids! Great staff!!!
I liked that the class size was so small so my daughter got personalized attention. Facilities are great.
The instructors are phenomenal. Mr Mganus is an absolute angel. Our son is on the authistic spectrum and he is not easy to work with. However Mr Magnus never questioned his abilities. The amount of patience that this young man has are admirable. Thank you!
Its quite there
Love the people! The administrators were so wonderful with my child!
My son had a great time. I loved they were able to swim often!
Your staff were absolutely lovely
The councilors have done a great job balancing having fun, keeping the kids safe and entertained and letting them be kids. We changed camps from our local day camp to the Highland YMCA after my son spending a week at Highland when our local camp was full. My son asked to go back there after the first week!
this will be my daughter's 2nd year being with YMCA high point and I will say the staff is wonderful the way they work with the kids the event that they have the field trips even the enjoyment of them learning how to swim the process that they go through with dads and just letting the kids enjoyed themselves I just really love the entire program and again it's the staff I must say I have not been any any other place the way that they are my daughter goes to our club after school and before school and YMCA High point that is the only location that I know that from the moment you walk into the time that you walk out and when your kids are there you feel and you know that they are at safe and I really appreciate that.
Educational to learn to swim for my child and its free!!!
There should be an option for children to stay behind if they do not want to go on field trips. I think its ridiculous that it is forced or else the child has to stay home. Thats unfair to a paying parent. Thats why we have care because we need it. Also, the workers should be on time. Parents shouldnt have to wait outside for the employee to get to work to unlock the gate. I did not like that not one employee checked my ID to make sure that my child was picked up by someone on the list. I had to actually ask them to check the list and give them my id. Thats unsafe.
My son has a great time! love that lunch is provided. Field trips are excellent.
The camp has been great and really affordable compared to most camps! Only thing I would prefer for my childâs safety as well as the other kids is getting a better handle as who is allowed to be on the property at specific times. For example, Iâve seen people who appear to be homeless that linger around during camp hours and I find that to be concerning. Other than that, I donât have any complaints/concerns.
I love the people running the program. They are amazing!! My son loves the pool time and all the friends he is meeting.
The interaction
Close and convenient
Open the High Point YMCA location on Sundays "or" offer a Sunday free day pass to attend another YMCA which is open Sundays
The front desk staff member was very unwelcoming. I wish I would've retained her name - but she was so rude and very misinforming. I dreaded walking in there on Saturday mornings because of her! Also, the life guard chair/umbrella combo needs to be fixed asap, expecting them to stand all day for a shift is just mind boggling.
The strings alternative program is a wonderful addition where kids who are not able to afford a strings education can get one.
