I don't know what the relationship is between Unity Restoration and Delta Disaster Services. If they are Unity Restoration, the incident happened on New Year's Day 2021, and they just completed the project 2-3 months ago. It took them 2.5 years for the project. The space in the house that had to be redone because of the fire had been remodeled in 2019. The people who did that made it to where we couldn't use the house for 9 months. We were actually about to get lawyers involved. Our outside consultant said it should've taken a maximum of 3 months for that job. Unity used sub-quality contractors. There isn't a single thing that didn't need to be redone in the home twice, for example, drywall, framing, carpet, siding, paint, and hardwood floor restoration. They tried to cut corners multiple times and I ended up having to do a whole bunch of stuff in the home myself rather than it be shotty work. For example, the banister was damaged by the fire department when they brought hoses and stuff in. Rather than refinish the banister, which was appropriate, they attempted to use wood putty to fill in the scrapes. There is a laundry list of things that were done shotty. Not a single thing didn't have to be redone. Additionally, the shower they installed leaked into our kitchen, which caused additional damage they had to repair.
They had a lot of workers that did poor workmanship. One man had to come in, Enus, and correct things at the end. He did a good job, but I wouldn't recommend their flooring company, or drywall. They have very poor communication. They make agreements to call you back, and they never do. There are three of them that aren't there anymore.
My sink started to leak because they didn't hire a plumber, and they used the same old hardware. The countertop is already starting to separate from the backsplash, but they got the job done.
The mold remediation went extremely well, however, when the reconstruction side gave an estimate, not only was it ludicrously high, but it included repairs we didn't need. For example, they estimated ~500$ of electrical work needed (labor, materials, time, etc.), however, our damage had no implications on electrical outlets or switches.
I think the whole crew did a really good job because we had a really big mess here.
It took a long time. They were not real clear on the cost. Oftentimes, communication was strained.
They never finished the work. Called twice - we still have holes in our ceiling that have never been fixed by Delta. We are getting another contractor to fix their unfinished work. Word never let them into my house again.
Work was great, people were nice and professional. Communication and scheduling could have been better.
I had major water damage to my home in Highlands Ranch,CO in May of 2020. They were quick to come and do cleanup of water damage and dry areas. However the re-construction phase took over 6 months to complete. There did not seem to be good communication between the PM and the work crews. The person in the office that scheduled the work seemed very un-organized. Workers would show up and not have a clear scope of work or were not prepared for the project which led to many delays. I emailed the project manager and even the owner of the company with my concerns and never once received a response. I am happy with the overall result but this project should never have take so long to complete.
They didn't seal the floor to the bathtub all the way. Now the floor next to my bathroom is all soft and swishy. I don't think the dried out the subfloor completely or replaced it even though we let them know there was a soft spot. I called the insurance company trying to get them to re-fix it. They come out and looked at it and claimed that there was a plumbing leak. I called a plumber to come out here to look at it, they cut into my drywall and there was no leak. No drywall wet, no insulation wet, no nothing wet. Basically they are trying to say that it is my fault, when they did a shotty job. The bathroom still haven't gotten completed. No one has called or done anything about it. There was a point a time when two weeks went by and nothing happened. No one came here, no one contacted me. I had to call the project manager to find out what was going on. Then he left me with the impression that they were getting me a new bathroom countertop, then they said that they couldn't. Then because I was upset, the project manager when out of his way to find a countertop at a discount store. That was great that he did that. The project manager originally said that it was going to be replaced, then it was insurance wasn't going to cover it, then it was I wasn't going to have enough money to cover it, then because I called and had a problem, they tried to make it right. But with the service that I have had and the problem that I am currently having with my bathroom, no one has taken the time to attend to it, fix it or correct it. They just came out said I had a plumbing issue. I brought a plumber out here and it is not a plumbing issue, it is their issue because of their shotty work.
I primarily dealt with Colby. I can't speak highly enough about him. He was so professional and thorough, he was awesome.
It was just a difficult process. There were missed appointments and they damaged my refrigerator and other areas in my home. It was not a pleasurable experience.
They are a fantastic company. They really helped me out when my insurance company would not.
I would highly recommend them. They were professional and they do what they say they are going to do, in a timely manner.
Seems like a great company until the work starts. They don’t listen even after they started demolition of the flooring. I tried to be proactive and start looking at new tile to replace existing tile and they said they would have their tile person come out to me. And I did mention many times that it was ceramic tile. Couple weeks go by and they are like because it’s ceramic tile we don’t do ceramic tile you will have to work with our partner that does. I was shocked because they knew it was ceramic tile from the start. If they didn’t when I communicated with them many times and said ceramic tile that should have been a flag to mark down that the customer has ceramic tile. They also are unwilling to be flexible in scheduling and don’t plan ahead very well.
Based on the work alone, I would recommend Delta. Based on the overall experience, I would not recommend them.
The gentleman that came to the house went above and beyond to make sure that the work was done quickly so that we could move on with the renovation portion. He was very professional and friendly.
Everybody that I dealt with was very friendly and I appreciated what they did for us.
They were very helpful with my mom's house.
WORK WAS NOT COMPLETED AT THE TIME THEY PROMISED. SOME OF THE WORK WAS NEVER COMPLETED. MY YARD, POOL, AND OTHER ITEMS WERE DAMAGED AND NEVER REPAIRED OR REPLACED
Delta Restoration was prompt and most efficient not only in the work done, but in their explanations of what to expect. Workers arrived on schedule, did their job efficiently rather in the major cleanup and consequent installation of our new floor They cleaned up and took the debris away each day. I highly recommend this company and without hesitation.
