This spring I wanted to have my deck replaced with something a little larger, composite and add a second set of stairs down to the yard. I had 6 companies come out to give me bids. 5 companies basically gave me nearly identical bids; within 5% of each other, composite, slightly larger than the existing deck and each with an awkward staircase leading into the yard. Si, from Decks and Spas, came out and when I started to tell him what I thought I wanted, he stopped me and said, "give me 5 minutes out here by myself and I will sketch up some ideas and I will come in and we can discuss your ideas and my ideas". His design blew me away. So, for maybe 10% more than the average bid I have a beautiful deck, much larger than my existing deck. Great use of the space, nothing common about this deck. Where others planned an awkward staircase to ground level, Si designed a 2-step drop to an octangle landing with a firepit then a few steps continuing down to the ground. Not awkward, but beautiful and functional. No detail is an afterthought; everything is planned and designed into the finished product. In his design, Si took into account features currently existing in my landscape. I consider myself fortunate in having asked Decks and Spas to provide me a bid. I have been recommending them since they completed my deck and will continue to do so.
Unquestionably, one of the finest contracting companies I have worked with. From the first time I walked into their store where I met Kharis at reception, later with my first consultation with Si, the owner, I felt welcomed and appreciated that they were my chosen contractor. Clearly, this company knows how to listen to what you want, match what you want with the prefect material, then build it with quality craftsmanship. The crew was well informed about the requirements for our new deck and were sensitive and responsive to our inquires as well as maintaining a clean and safe work site. As example of their work ethic and as work on the deck was wrapping up, we experienced an unrelated spa electrical failure. Literally within hours, they had their service technician, testing house electrical panels, wiring, GFI and spa equipment. Once they determined that the spa heater was the culprit. they sent one of the crew to pick up a new one and install it. all within a few hours. Well done Si. We are so pleased and proud of our new deck and working spa.
Very professional from first meeting to finished product
