We recently hired Classic Metal Roofs (CMR) to replace the roof on our Single Family Cape Conversion House, and the results have exceeded all our expectations.
From the initial contact to the final inspection, their team demonstrated exceptional professionalism and efficiency. The overall experience was marked by several qualities that truly set them apart from other contractors.
For context, our house previously suffered from a mediocre roof and a noticeably worn, tired-looking dormer. It was crucial to us that the new metal roof installation and the refurbished dormer sidings were a brilliant match. Our vision for this project was somewhat unconventional, and other contractors we consulted were rigid, unwilling to consider anything beyond a standard roof replacement.
However, one of CMR's most exceptional qualities is their willingness to deeply consider and articulate their customer's vision. Our discussion with them confirmed that they are not just technicians, but artisans who take genuine pride in their craft. They also shared numerous brilliant suggestions that we incorporated into the final plan. After several design iterations, we settled on a master plan, and we truly felt like we had commissioned a masterpiece!
CMR is further distinguished by how effectively they leverage their suppliers. As the adage goes, "a meal is judged not only by its chef but also by its ingredients." We were impressed by the range and depth of their supplier’s offerings—color choice, for instance, was never a limitation for our eclectic taste. Furthermore, the educational resources they provided ranged from detailed discussions on the confidence behind their warranties to the specifications of the Green-Scores for their respective product lines.
The newly installed roof looks fantastic, modern, and spiffy, and it exceeds all our expectations thanks to the workmanship of this talented crew. The sight of the roof genuinely brings smiles to our faces, even on a rough day. Our neighbors love the result too.
We highly recommend Classic Metal Roofs for any homeowner considering a metal roofing project. If you seek a contractor who articulates and complements your design objectives, delivers high-quality results, communicates clearly, and adheres strictly to their quoted price and schedule, look no further.
Recognized Excellence - Mike Gonet what’s my primary contact for a rather lengthy period of time as I considered getting a metal roof. He was knowledgeable and receptive to my particular requirements
Areas Of Satisfaction - The metal roof this spring has already proven to reduce heat and humidity in the inside environment. The asphalt roof I had before added 20 to 30° to the indoor heat compared to the outdoors. It has proven its value in an ever hotter climate.
Additional Comments - climate warming has resulted in a very hot and human indoor environment. After last summer's torrid heat, I knew I had to do something. The metal roof has already proven to reduce indoor heat and subsequent humidity. It’s probably the best investment I’ve ever made.
Working with Classic Metal Roofs was a great experience. The initial consultation was informative rather than pushy. Mike offered a great deal of information and guidance. The crew that installed the roof was very thorough and neat. They worked hard and cleaned up everything each evening. The finished roof looks great. The flashing around the chimneys looks solid and precise. We've gone thorough a couple of rain storms with strong wind that would have made our previous roof leak, but our new roof kept us completely dry. I really appreciate the hard work of everyone at Classic Metal Roofs.
Classic Metal Roofs work was done quickly, and the end result greatly improved the look of our house.
FYI - Neither Karen nor Peter have Gmail accounts which were needed for the other type of review. The process of agreeing on scope of work and signing the contract was fairly easy. Mike replied in a timely fashion when we had questions. The crew was respectful and worked hard.
Excellent experience start to finish!
Our large barn had a metal roof installed, with snow brakes, by another company. When the snow brake system failed, the company was slow to respond. We were promised a repair (we were not asking for the work to be done for free). After 15 months and no response, I contacted CMR….and they were outstanding with their response, price, and scheduling. I thought since this was a small repair project done by another company, we would likely not get it done before winter. The crew sensed my concern and CMR sent someone. I could not be happier and look forward to working with CMR in the future! Great job!! (And after several snow storms this winter, the new system installed is superior to what was previously on the roof).
Classic Metal Roofs did a beautiful job on our roof! We are so happy we never have to worry about ice dams or leaks again. They installed the waterproof underlayer as early as possible, to fix our active leaking problem while we waited for aluminum roofing materials to be available. They were great about explaining the process and helping us understand the extent of our rotting wood that would need to be replaced. They also communicated clearly about the cost, and we did not have any surprise costs. However, their other communication could be improved. Several times, roofers showed up at my house without any advance warning. I also had to speak with a materials delivery person myself to ensure they gave us enough material for the house and the shed, because Classic Metal Roofs had not passed on my request to replace the gutters on the shed in addition to the house.
We have mixed feelings about how our roofing project went. The roof looks like it was installed well, but there were several issues along the way that if we were not home to witness, would not have been resolved. During installation the crew left at the end of a Friday and left a large hole in the roof just before a storm that came over the weekend. We had water pour into the house and I had to address the leak myself due to the storm coming on a weekend. CMR and I came to an agreement on squaring up on covering the water damage. The crews crushed several plants along the sides of the house during installation. The cleanup each day was poor as there was debris both large and small left behind. The gutters were installed incorrectly and we had water that would drip behind the gutters instead of into them. The downspouts terminated in poor locations and the connections were installed backwards, allowing water to pour out at each connection. These items were eventually rectified, but the communication response was slow and stressful. Ultimately we are happy with having a roof that should last for the rest of our lifetime, but the attention to detail throughout was lackluster for a premium product installed by a premium company. It does leave us slightly concerned over the longevity of the roof since we are not roofing experts and don't know what problems there may be that we may have missed.
