The quality is horrible. The supervision for how things should actually be done was never provided. The house had a lot of issues with the security system. That’s not what I expect from a high-quality builder.

Building a home with Classic homes unfortunately turned into a disaster with a significant delay in closing and many construction errors along the way. We purchased one of their homes that they were planning to build as a model and the construction had not yet started. Before signing the contract, we requested an in person meeting at their design center to see all of the interior finishes. They showed us high quality modern finishes in the showroom and told us everything would be top of the line since they were planning to use it as a model. After signing the contract and paying the deposit, they changed the cabinets, countertops, flooring and hardware for dated and lower quality items and failed to notify us. They blamed this on an internal communication breakdown but you can judge this for yourself. Communication was a problem throughout the entire process despite us requesting more frequent and transparent communication with them. During the construction phase it was difficult to get a hold of anyone to answer questions or to get updates on why the delays were occurring. Within a year of moving in we have experienced numerous issues: sewage leak in the basement, patio roof leaking, circuit breaker dangerously overheated (wiring not insulated per code), dead grass /poor landscaping, windows not closing, gutter leaking / downspouts overflowing, garage door issues, dishwasher overflowing, uneven and splintering flooring. Their warranty department is clearly overwhelmed and difficult to get updates from. They respond intermittently to warranty requests and are slow in getting the issues rectified. We have yet to see a resolution on multiple pending warranty items including the patio roof leaking. What we expected to be an exciting experience has turned into a nightmare. We regret entrusting them in building our home and will not be using them in the future.

They were an outstanding partner to work with throughout the building process, and we are quite pleased with the home we have as a result.

Classic Homes of Virginia has been nothing but excellent throughout the entire home building process.

Classic has been a good partner in this project. They have met their commitments to keep the project moving and within budget.

Overall we are extremely pleased with classic homes! When building a home you will have issues pop up and classic did the right thing every single time. Classic comes across as a company of very high integrity.

There are times when it was hard to reach someone, so there was a lack of communication. They were not straightforward with all information on the contract with me. Lastly, I felt some of the items in the house were cheap, for example, the cabinet material.

Our experience has been great with Classic Homes. They were very thorough and supportive of our decisions and made everything possible for us.

They have been so responsive, patient and helpful to us during the beginning phase and we’re looking forward to working with them!

Classic homes gave us an amazing home that fit within our budget. We’ve been living in our house for almost two months now and we are in love with it.

Building a house post-COVID is not for the faint of heart. Classic did an excellent job managing through this - despite supply chain and tradebase challenges, they were able to build a home for my family and I in 14.5 months from contract signing. There were hiccups along the way - having selections we painstakingly made be unavailable or needing substitution wasn't fun, nor were days when everyone thought they were giving it all they've got but still missed the mark. It was a hard process as we pushed Classic to finish our house, but ultimately they came through in a very reasonable amount of time.

The quality of construction was excellent - evident to the neighbors and our inspector. We selected significantly upgraded finishes and the house looks just fantastic. Some review sources online say otherwise, but it's not our experience. The building quality is high with good materials (eg advantech floors, hardie siding) and the interior of the house's work behind the walls was neat and labeled which shows their building standards.

One of the shining spots of our experience with Classic was Rene, the Project Superintendent. He was excellent at communication and very detail oriented (this coming from someone who is used to blue chip professional services professionally), and always showed great pride in his work, which is admirable given exigent circumstances of the building environment today.

Most efficient use of space for any home we saw in VA!

Unfortunately we built what was our dream home with Classic Homes but the quality is comparable to that of a starter home with the number of corners that were cut from everything to the pouring of the foundation, to light installation, to floor installation. Poor quality contractors and construction for a price range well beyond that of a starter home.

Overall, very good experience. As is to be expected, there were challenges along the way but Classic did a good job overcoming and more importantly over communicating. Mike was/is an incredible Superindentent. Made us feel like family.

Classic Homes appear very professional, slightly at the higher end from the overall pricing compared to others. Friendly, talented and try to understand our custom needs. Building reasonable amount of houses and this might be a reason to most likely avoid potential pitfalls to our custom homes. I will share my experience as I progress in the process. So far good experience.

Very responsive at all levels. Great experience, things will always come up but Classic was very quick to respond and fix any issues.

Great customer service a-little difficult in the beginning they do not help you in any way and sign a contract right away. Other builders will draw you a rough sketch before buying they did not!
