OVERALL: The finish product is beautiful! However getting to this point was awful, very frustrating. No one stays in touch. No prior schedule to install products - sliding glass door or sunporch. Call when they were heading to my house.
I’ve met 2 people since starting this last November that feels exactly the same. The product is great but the process is a very poor, frustrating experience!
If someone asks about the Champion sunporch. I will tell them I love my sunporch. I will also explain it’s a miserable process to go through. No contact to keep you in the loop. If there a glitch no one to talk to about it. Courtney only one who returns calls. She passed messages about the sliding glass doors & problems with 4” concrete/footings but no one called. I am still very unhappy with the extra trim on the glass door. Champion does not stands behind their work!! No even look at the problem!! I would probably suggest they look at other companies. I paid a premium price for the glass door and the sunporch. I should not have to accept a door too small for my space. Your reps should not decide what they want for me - I should choose what I want! I’m sure they saw me as a little old lady but what they didn’t see was a strong woman who was totally involved in building 3 homes and major renovations to 2 vintage homes! I know what I want!!
I was going to buy Champion windows for my house and planned to have them by now but I’m going to look around because of your customer service.
SLIDING GLASS DOOR: I had double doors out to my screen porch and wanted a sliding glass door entrance to the sunporch I was getting from Champion.. Scott came over and spent a long time measuring the door. Some weeks later the door was here. First notice was a call saying they were heading to over to install the door. Two guys came out to install. They looked at opening and immediately both started measuring and glancing at each other. One guy said to the other after a lot of measuring “what are we going to do now”
Other guy “damn if I know”. They went to truck for a while (on the phone) and came back with the door. I ask if there is a problem they said “no”. I hate the door!!! It was to small for the space so the put another strip of vinyl at top to cover the gap. It looks awful. Then one guy with dirty hands starts smearing caulk. Honestly a 10 year old could have done a better job. Way too much caulk and it’s dirty.
I started calling about the door telling them Scott told me the door would fit perfectly in the space and I didn’t need to do anything with inside trim. I talked with Courtney and Dennis several times. No one had answer. No one came to check door. No one cared that I was dissatisfied!! I purchased a storm door for my front door. Scott came to measure. I showed him the door. He said the 81 1/2” door would have fit there but it’s a custom door and costs more so they used the regular door. I told him they should have ask me. I make my own decisions!! I’ve called Carl a couple times. One time I didn’t hear back and next time he was very frustrated with me and said “a guy will be back here shortly , I’ll send him over there.” No one came. When started building the Sunporch I told him about the door. He came in to see. He shook his head and said the 81” door would have fit. He didn’t like the way it looks inside either. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ABOUT THIS DOOR! NO ONE HAS OFFICIALLY COME TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM. I TOTALLY RESENT THEM MAKING A DECISION ON MY BEHALF. THEY SHOULD HAVE ASK ME WHAT I WANTED. ONE THING I TOLD COURTNEY WHEN SHE CAME TO TALK TO ME ABOUT THE SUNPORCH/SLIDING GLASS DOOR IS THAT I AM VERY PICKY ABOUT HOW MY HOME LOOKS.
SUNPORCH: I had a screen porch with concrete floor. Champion rep wanted to replace my patio concrete as it was not 4” thick and pour footings to support heals posts, glass, roof by adding one foot extra concrete to size of current patio. County said no that I’m over property line. Champion rep then said they would just build on current patio. This concerned me as patio 2-3” deep and has cracks. Couldn’t get answers to proceed. They insisted I get HOA approval but I refused to do so until I got answers about 4” concrete & footings they told me they had to have to support their heavy poles, glass, roof. Finally after not hearing back from Champion for a month or more called customer service for help. Dennis said they didn’t think I needed footing. I ask for explanation. We went round and round and Dennis then agreed to send a rep out to check my concrete patio. The rep said it needed footings under each post. Few weeks later I got a call they were on way to start sunporch. This was first notification I got. Luckily it was home. I said to rep so you’re coming to pour the footings. He said no we’re starting to build. After another heavy discussion about the footings. I told them no footings no sunporch. I didn’t want to worry about it caving in! So footings poured!
The guy they sent out to install the sunporch has done a beautiful job!! He is very nice, friendly and happy to answer any questions!
My new sunporch is beautiful!! His name is Michael Gardner. He is finishing up out there now. Just has to come back to install 3 pieces of glass when it come in.
Did not like the payment options given. As a repeated customer, I was required to pay almost the total cost before the work was started. Champion advertised buy 2 windows and get 2 free plus no interest, no money down, and no payment for 12 months. I feel I should have been able to pay a down payment and balance at completion.
The quality of the room was terrific and the workers were easy to work with
Overall the experience was positive. The windows were ready faster than expected and we are satisfied with the work. I wish that there was better information about what to expect with the installation before it began so we could have been better prepared.
I would likely to recommend to anyone who needs new windows and are able to afford the prices they have. The salesperson was excellent by explaining the whole process and showing visually the type of windows to be installed. The installers were very professional and did their job in a timely manner and made sure I was happy with the job done.
I would gladly recommend Champion Windows to everyone. We used them, originally, for converting our back deck into a sunroom. We couldn't be more pleased with that whole project,m especially the windows. So, when it came time to replace some of the contract-grade, original windows from 2000, we went right to them!
We are very pleased with the final results of our experience with Champion and will gladly refer them to family, friends and acquaintances.
They were great to work with from start to finish. They were professional and treated me and my family with respect and courtesy. They understood our needs and recommended the best products for our budget. I've already noticed a change in temperature through the windows. I can't wait to see my energy bill next month.
Eric the salesman was professional and very patient.
Difficulty reaching people at company
I am still waiting for one window to be done correctly and it’s been a month almost of trying to get this done correctly since it wasn’t installed correctly from the beginnng. No one ever reaches back out and considering the amount of money, it is unacceptable.
The project was costly but with all the discounts it fit into our budget. The installing process was the best I have encountered.
Great experience from start to finish
I have to contact the office about water on the patio when it rains. The gutter is not connected to my existing gutter which was just was capped. There is a gap between the gutters and unlike I was told (there would be no issue) there very much is an issue the water splatters three feet into the patio when it rains. I am not recommending to anyone until I see if this issue gets resolved. So far no one has come to check the installation so I am going to have to call the office. Was trying to wait to fill this survey out until this issue was addressed but am tired of receiving repeated emails to complete the survey so doing it now.
I have already recommended Champion to three other people.
1. Hard if not impossible to get in contact with the sales representative after sale. Wanted to add a forgotten window and was unable to after countless attempts and voicemails.
2. Product arrival was late and somehow got mixed up with an entirely different order. I took 2 days off of work for the installation and it took me a day and a half to even get the Columbia or main office on the phone to figure out what was going on with the installation.
3. Installers were great though.
Never
Windows are great and our installers were great and fast! Our drafty house is no longer drafty!
Very happy we chose Champion!
The window products and installation was very good. We decided to go with Champion, as our Florida room utilized Champion Windows. The warranty provided, and the APPARENT intention of Champion to fulfill the warranty persuaded us to choose Champion. After nearly a year, multiple promises to fulfill the warranty, and absolutely no progress (other than a third or fourth commitments to do so) we are questioning our choice.
The windows looks great. Made my home more quieter.
It was very difficult. I authorized the first credit card payment, then they charged me again (unauthorized) a week later. They held my money for six months. Finally, a crew came. Three crew used a different backer board than originally agreed on. I left only to come back to find them using an even more substandard backer board. The backer board manufacturer stated that all seams must be taped to prevent water intrusion. The crew did not tape a single seam and i was told the company never taped seams despite the manufacture recommendations. The crew broke one window, both entry lights, cut the cable to the irrigation system, installed one wall so poorly that the entire wall had to be redone. They placed the vent as a decoration rather than cutting through to make a real vent. The crew referred to me as "puta and pendejo". Not a very impressive interaction with your company.
Bad costumer service.
We called Champion in September of 2022 to get a quote on doors for our home. We finally got a representative to come out on October 13th, we spent a few hours going over things and ordered 2 exterior doors and 2 storm doors. $8500 for the all. It was supposed to take about 6 months for them to come in and was supposed to be installed by late April, latest was to be May 1st, 2023. We were fine with that. We got the promotion where it was 0% interest if paid in full in 12 months. Ok.
Champion was supposed to keep us updated on the status of our purchase.
November, December , January, February, March, April; no word from Champion. I finally called the first week in April. When calling, you can't get in touch with anyone, you have to leave your number and they call you back. When they called me back, they said they were still waiting on the doors to come in. They would call and update us as soon as they came in. Ok.
Now in this time period, we were charged and paid the first 5100$ in full. I called every week in May. I finally told them I wanted to cancel, but the cancellation period is three days after purchase. Which would have been 10/16/2022. I find that funny.
In the beginning of May, I tried getting a hold of a manager or supervisor to express my concerns about our purchase, called every week, it is now June and no manager has called me back.
June 11th the installer, Carl, called and said the doors are in, he will be here on June 19th at 9am to install the doors. At 11am, Carl still wasn't at my house and no one called me. I called the customer service number, the lady was very nice, she was upset about all I've been through.
230pm June 19th, I drove to the showroom store on Fernando Rd in Columbia. A nice man named Doug Congdon, the showroom manager, is helping me. I have explained the whole situation to him.
Carl was in the back of the showroom on a conference call, Doug went back to ask him about why he didn't install the doors today. He Lied!! Said that he never set an appt for today, he said he called and told me I had to unblock the green sky account, which I can't do, champion has to do it. I was so frustrated about this. Why would I lie about it?? Where did I come up with that app?? I explained this to Doug and he said he believed me, but who knows. And the fact that this man lied about what happened… wow (Also I have the email that was sent to me saying that the appointment had been scheduled through the Champion system for June 19th.)
So Doug is supposed to contact his manager and ask her about what's going on and what happens next and get back to me by the end of business today.
Doug called me at 4:45pm, and said his manager was out sick today, which he didn't mention earlier when I spoke with him. But he said he sent her an email and he would call me Tomorrow.
At 825 am on June 20, the office manager, Kimberly Gunn, called me, but I didn't answer. She left a message saying to fill out the green sky paperwork so they can make the last charge. She sent me the paperwork via email.
On June 22nd, Kimberly Gunn, the office manager called me. She explained to me that we needed to sign the green sky paperwork so they could charge the last payment. I told her that we were waiting to hear back from Green sky. Because we are going forward with an investigation against Champion for their conduct during this project.
The contract does say "start installation approximately 22-24 weeks from transaction date". As of June 19th, it has been 35 weeks.
On June 28th, all of the paperwork had been completed and signed. I'm waiting for them to call and schedule an appt for the installation of our doors. WHich will now have to be delayed till it gets cooler outside because with the heat of SC all the bugs will be waiting to enter our home while they are working. So when they called I scheduled the appt for Oct 5th but the Green Sky account billing period ends the next day so I rescheduled for Sept 20, 2023.
On Sept 20, 2023 an installer named Frank and his partner (I'm so sorry I can't remember his name or if he even told me. He was very nice also, very quiet.) came and installed our doors. Did the job in one day and was very nice and professional. Thanks Frank and your partner get 5 stars.
Now the actual product that we got, 2 stars. The doors are the cheapest ones they had, which were still 8500$, so i guess we just expected something with better quality.
We will never use or recommend Champion windows to anyone. Between the customer service and the quality of the product it is not worth the headache, money, or stress.
We had a great experience with Champion Windows and with our salesperson Jonathan Cockman specifically as well as with the installation crew. The windows we ordered are exactly what we wanted, look fabulous, and were installed well & quickly. I recommend Champion to anyone looking to replace or add windows. The quality of the windows is fantastic and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I found Champion to be far and away better than local competitors we have used or received quotes from in the past.
Always liked the excellent work I have received froChsmpion.m
Champion called on Monday 9/7 to see if ok to begin on 9/8 b/c scheduled job got canceled. Said ok but I would not be at home. Got call on Tues that wars had tire problem but would begin Wed. Had to order new shutters which would not be available that week. Shutters available the next week. Was assured by Carl that they would get someone out to put shutters up
Have Called at least 4x No one has returned my call , Carl or the incomplete job office.
The Champion installation team was professional, completing the job in a timely and quality manner.
I will recommend only because of the sales person Courtney Golder who is professional and very nice abd knows how to get a job weldone : I also liked your wpoker who installed the windows ; they were skilled and professionali
Others in your office except for Dennis are discourteous and very unprofessional and they even delayed the completion of job by a week by failing to order certain items : The less I write about our experience it is better for you . Your CEO should wake up and get people that are professional Like Courtney Golder .
The new installation is a noticeable improvement to my home as judged by myself and visitors. The comfort level is elevated as well as the appearance.
The workers worked in a timely manner and I love my new sunroom.
I am still waiting for a resolution to the imperfect window. I have a case number and did receive a phone call about it, but it has been nearly two weeks with no information.
Our house painter informed us that there are several problems with the installation of the window in our master bedroom that will cause problems for years to come. The silicone used to seal the window on the inside of the house was the type that cannot be painted and it was inexpertly used to try to cover up sloppy work done on the window casing installation. We're not at all happy with the preparedness of the installer, the materials used to install the window(s) or both installers disregard of our request to leave the old door and windows for us to use to make a greenhouse.
The salesperson and two installers were exemplary!
Quality product and superb installation team. Love my new windows!
"???" Your company sell, design, build and install. I was expecting quality products and installation. I did not receive quality installation.
I’m happy with the windows, but they took too long to get. Was a mixup in installment date, that took longer than expected.
From start to finish it was a good experience. No issues, courteous and knowledgeable sales guy. The installation went smoothly. I highly recommend this company.
Still cannot really decide. The product itself is good, though I still have doubts about whether some of my seals are intact. It took more than a year from start to finish for completion of my job, and although not please with one of the screens, I finally signed off and paid the job in full, because I was tired of the whole thing.
Everything was awesome. There was one leak during a rainstorm after installation but someone came out immediately and fixed the problem
On the 1st day of installation, the only somewhat English speaking installer had to leave at noon, which left us with 2 competent but non-conversant men here to answer our questions☹️. Your business plan is fine for sales and LOUSY for customer service. No supervisor ever showed up at our house to tell us what was going to happen, any safety procedures, to check in at the beginning or end of any of 3 days.
Really lousy customer service.
Installation went great it looks great at this point very satisfied,
Our salesman, Scott Cosentino, did an excellent job when he came in to show us product samples, which totally sold me. We had follow up from Champion to let us know the windows were being put together; they always kept us informed, and the installers, Matthew and Brandon, did an outstanding job. I highly recommend them!
Everyone was professional from beginning to end and they really did a wonderful job cleaning up before leaving.
The product and in particular the installation were first rate in all areas.
I understand Champion is under NEW ownership and hope they recognize good work by install crew when due. Reward GOOD workers!
Professional workmanship and excellent quality
my experience with Champion, I would highly recommend Champion.
I was supposed to get my windows installed on a Thursday. I requested off from work to make sure I was home. The day of I wake up early, removed curtains and moved furniture so they could do what they needed to do, and nobody showed up. I called and was told “you aren’t on the install schedule for today” so I rescheduled for the following Thursday. Yet again, the window installers showed up WEDNESDAY morning and wouldn’t come the following day like I had set up. Had to miss some work waiting for them to finish, and they had damaged my window sills. I have made multiple calls multiple times to the office, and installation managers and never heard a single word from any of them. They said they’d call back, and they never did. I still have yet to hear anything from them. One of the worst customer experiences I’ve had and for the amount of money I’m paying for these stupid windows this should not have happened. Definitely will not recommend
From ordering our windows to having them installed, the project was completed much earlier than I expected.
I have recommended Champion Windows to about five people. They did good work for me.
