The BMS CAT team was excellent — great communication, timely repairs, and overall a very efficient and excellent experience.
They were very professional. He and answered every question I had, even though I annoyed him. They always had an answer for me.
I work as a project manager for a construction company for over 10 years. When my insurance sent BMS CAT, I thought I had to use them. I have never had to file an insurance claim before. The initial estimator from BMS CAT was really nice, but didn't know what he was doing. He came one day and spent about thirty minutes with us. His guys did the worse job I had ever seen. There were parts of the subfloor that were hanging in mid-air. They were not braced to anything. You are supposed to use nails every 6 inches and 5 across. They would have one nail here and two there. It was very, very bad work. It was to the point that when I noticed things going wrong, I had to tell the project manager. The project manager then yelled at me and was saying I was slowing his guys down. Once I told him what they were doing wrong, he hesitated, and watched how he spoke to me. I gave him one more shot. The guys were to come back and touch up some drywall. You could see every single part they worked on because they used hot mud. By doing that, when you paint, you can see everything. I called my insurance carrier at that point. I sent all kinds of pictures and explained how poor the work was. They had asked me to buy materials and bring them to them. That came out of my pocket. When I saw how bad it was getting, that's when I was told by my insurance carrier that I did not have to use BMS CAT. I could use whoever I wanted. wanted. I fired them immediately. I tried to get my money back. They kept the money for the mitigation work, which they really didn't do a whole lot. They left a huge mess in the process, as well. I ended up fixing everything myself. It was nightmare. If this was an older woman that lived alone, they would have took complete advantage. I have a large friend, and if he would have walked on my floors, he would have went straight through. I would never recommend BMS CAT, and my insurance carrier should not either. They do not need to be on the list. I looked them up online afterwards. I found a lot of people have been in the same scenario as me. They may have other subcontractors or managers that are better, but the ones I had knew nothing about what they were doing.
BMS CAT did an excellent job at my property in fixing my kitchen. The project manager was Superb! However, they could have minimized the project time by contracting with the suppliers more efficiently. Especially contracting with the first cabinet supplier which caused at least a 3-weeks of delay in cabinet supply. Thanks.
I will not recommend them to a friend.
When it came to customer service and working with us, they were a massive pain to deal with. Their subcontractor bent over backward to take care of us where as they seemed to make no effort on their part. They tried throwing their subcontractor under the bus, even when I heard them tell the subcontractor what the subcontractor heard.
Erin said he would do the renovation job after my house flooded but then lied to my insurance company. Told them that we never agreed to that. Had to have Servpro come in when we found a second pipe busted. Servpro pulled up the subfloor that BMS CAT didn't pull up when the original drying was needed.
