We had a water leak our my home. The drying out process was streamlined and effective with respectful and timely communication. I cannot say enough good things about Jared and the team. BUT the restoration was another story. The person handling my case told me I could not see the bid they were submitting to my insurance, because he "didn't want to muddy the water". Simply, he thought I wouldn't understand a "working document". That wasn't the biggest insult either. He also sent my flooring for evaluation, and we received a very low evaluation, roughly 50% of the replacement cost. He said, "that is a great value." I wanted him to contest the evaluation since I was able to retrieve original receipts. He was reluctant. I sent him a formal email stating I would be receiving the flooring payment directly, and called him the following business day to confirm he received the email. He was surprised and could not hide his irritation with my decision. Following that discussion, I had little to no further communication with him as he was angry that he had lost that portion of my business. This process lasted four more months for a total of 8 months. Insurance is a contract between the insured homeowner and the insurer. Claudio Alvarez is simply a provider of services and they lost sight of that. In my honest opinion, they treated me like it was their money, and I had to do what they said.

The only improvement in their service would be to explain the insurance process a little more fully. For people like me who have never had a homeowners insurance claim before it's a bit daunting and confusing.

They did a very meh job. Would not recommend.

I found a leaking downstairs toilet so contacted my insurance agent who contacted Alvarez restoration. An agent called & came by, gave me the general outline of work to be done. Various workers came promptly to remove the hardware, dry the floor, redo the floor in bathroom & adjoining kitchen, build new floor trim & restore the wax ring on the toilet. The whole thing took about 3 weeks, drying the floor took about a week. Workers were nice and professional.

Alvarez was recommended to us by Allstate to fix some damaged wood flooring from a dishwasher leak that required our entire upstairs to be refinished. They hired a subcontractor to do the floors who did an amateurish job at best. Our floors are rough and uneven, the finish was applied unevenly throughout, tools, materials and chemicals left all over the house (including open, half-full cans of finish. Alvarez clearly had no communication with or oversight of the work done by the sub they hired. Even more troubling, they seem to think the work is fine and are rushing to move us back into the house. Completely unacceptable. They’re clearly just looking to wrap up a half-assed job so they can move on to other projects. I’m so glad that this was an insurance claim and not an out-of-pocket project or I’m sure they would be trying to shaft us. Avoid Claudio Alvarez Construction at all costs!

All of the people from Alvarez were very pleasant and respectful. I’d definitely recommend them.

For the carpets portion only.

At first, Alvarez Restoration was Johnny-on-the-Spot. They stopped the flood at my rental and proceeded to dry the walls and floors. Then they had to go to other emergencies. My flood started the middle of September. The job is still not complete and it wasn't a huge job. I was not kept in the loop and had to call, text, email constantly. However, the job they did is good. There are still items that need to be completed.

They really did great work.

Every one of the men who were here over the course of a month were wonderful. They were kind, helpful and answered all of my questions. I couldn't have asked for a better group of professionals. They even liked my cat. Thank you so much!
