They took out a fireplace wall that separated our living room and kitchen which makes our home feel so much larger. We love the white and wood mixture of cabinets, our quartz countertops and huge island.
The living room has been transformed with an electric fireplace and large television, set inside a beautiful dark quartz slab. The dry bar Karin designed compliments the fireplace wall, both extending to the ceiling.

From the very beginning, the process was streamlined, convenient, and tailored to what we needed, and Karin helped us translate our vision for our house into reality. One of the reasons we wanted to work with a designer was because our house aesthetic is a little off the beaten track, and Karin was invaluable in sourcing materials and options that would match the kind of design we loved, along with anchoring our ideas into a cohesive whole that now makes the entire house flow. The actual remodeling process was quick and smooth, with a team that paid a lot of attention to detail and did an immaculate job. (One thing that was super lovely was that the team kept the worksite extremely tidy, which is a big help with kids and pets!) Having Karin work hand-in-glove with the remodeling team made the entire renovation process seamless and ultra-convenient. Karin Ross Designs did a fantastic job of doing our most recent home remodel projects. We had the entire main floor hardwoods refinished, the entire kitchen gutted and changed the layout, a new fireplace, and bar installed in our hearth room. It encompassed essentially 2000 sq ft of our home, and all of our daily living space. However, Karin and her team made the process as painless as possible. Without hesitation I would recommend them to anyone considering a home remodeling project. Karin has a true gift in design and her team does a fantastic job of making the vision you create with her, a reality.

Safe - Our project consumed most of our main living space, however the crew made it a point to clean things up as much as possible each day. Trash was always collected, scraps were disposed of, tools were put away, and floors were swept up as much as possible. Additionally, the construction areas were carefully enclosed during processes that created a lot of dust or fumes to keep from spreading to the rest of the house as much as possible.

Respectful

Respectful - The crew working our project was largely the same each day. They were extremely respectful of our home. They were here to get a job done and diligently stayed on task. We were completely at ease having them in our home without our presence.

Communication

Communication - Karin was always quick to respond to questions or concerns, regardless of the time of day. She was happy to discuss anything with me, to clarify or explain things I didn't understand. She also made herself available for last minute meetings and never left us feeling rushed or like an inconvenience.

Problem Resolution

Problem Resolution - We did experience an issue as the refrigerator/freezer columns were being installed. While it was no fault of Karin Ross Designs, Karin immediately came to the job site to address the situation and rectified the situation quickly. She was calm and well thought out with her solution. There is absolutely no way she could have handled it any better, despite the fact that the issue wasn't even due to an error on her part.

Professional & Organized - From the first meeting with Karin, she was the consummate professional. She had all of our project information in a file and readily available for any questions I may have. When we arrived for each meeting, she was prepared, having already pulled samples of items she thought we might like. That organization allowed the meetings to be extremely productive and make as much progress as possible.

Schedule - Due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, our project did run longer than expected. However, that was due to supply chain issues and COVID, not because of anything within Karin Ross Designs control. However, she remained extremely communicative, letting me know the status of shipments, work crew schedules, etc. Again, though no fault of hers, she handled it extremely well.

Value - When Karin says that you have an agreed upon price when signing a contract and there are not additional hidden costs as you go through the project, she means it. Throughout the entire project, we never had a 'nickel and dime' moment. The contract was signed and we had agreed to it...and she meant what she said - we were never asked for an extra penny.

Sales Knowledge - Karin was very knowledgeable about current design for our remodel, as well as what was feasible to make work for our space. She asked me to make a list prior to our initial planning meeting about items that I really wanted. We went through each item as we planned, discussing WHY I wanted them, how they could function in our space, where they would go, and then finalizing the decision. Some items that I thought I really wanted, I didn't end up doing, after she explained the pros and cons of them. However, those decisions were always left completely up to me, without pressure from her either way. She maintained it was MY space and she wanted me to love it, so the ultimate decision was always mine, but her vast knowledge of the industry was indispensably helpful in making decisions.

Design - The finished project has exceeded my expectations and that is due to Karin's innate talent of design. The space functions efficiently and is so aesthetically pleasing, it's more enjoyable to be in.

Schedule - The project started early! How often does a business start a project early! If it had not been for supplier delays due to COVID-19, our project would have concluded a week early. The crew was on-time almost every day, and if there was a late start (which was very rare), the delay was communicated.

Karin Ross Designs has been fantastic to work with. From our first meeting when Karin and Nick came to the house and we talked through what we were thinking, to selection of the design that Karin created for us, to the item selection (tile, cabinetry, fixtures, etc.), everything was well thought out and coordinated. Karin and Nick took care of everything: coordinating plumbing, electrical, roofers, windows, carpet, ordering everything we needed for the project, etc. The guys (Jerry, Johnny, and Tony) that did the majority of the work on the house were extremely professional, friendly and focused on the work at hand. They were here every day at 8 AM. If we had any questions, concerns or requests, Karin was very accommodating, and the guys on site would take action.

We had two projects in one. The smaller project involved remodeling a hall bath, while keeping the existing footprint of the room. It turned out great! The larger project involved removing and adding walls and windows, completely reconfiguring plumbing, electrical and air to reimagine our master suite. The end result was way better than we could've ever envisioned ourselves. It was Karin's vision that we fell in love with and what we now have the pleasure of living in. It's awesome. We highly recommend Karin Ross Designs for your next home project.

I would be honored to recommend Karin Ross Designs to everyone! Meeting Karin was the best thing that happened to me! As soon as she walked in my front door, listened to what I wanted, she immediately had ideas on how to make my dreams come true.

Types of work - We had a small remodel in our upstairs hall bathroom. They took out old tub and tile. The area looks amazing! Fantastic job on the tiling! We ordered custom made cabinets from Yorktown cabinets. They are absolutely gorgeous! Karin met with me 1 day a week for 6 weeks to select everything I wanted for cabinets and drawers. I have the best combination of upper and lower cabinets with deep large drawers, medium size drawers and regular sized drawers. I have a specialty cabinet (built in hutch) that is super special! Brad is their cabinet guy and he did an excellent job installing all of our cabinets and hand built our crown molding to fit perfectly! He is a true artist! Our backsplash is totally amazing and Joel, the tile guy, was a master at making sure everything matched up as it should. He was so completely thorough in laying the tile pieces. He is amazing. We replaced some windows and covered up other windows. Jerry was absolutely amazing at installing those and made the outside of our home match what we currently have! You can't even tell its been modified! We kept our original floor but had to add tile where the wall came down to expand our kitchen into a sitting area that we had. This expansion alone made our area so spectacular! All of the guys worked on taking this wall down and reconfiguring everything from the plumbing, to electrical to adding plug ins. Completely amazing! Karin also helped me with interior design ideas. She is the most patient person in the world. I had so many questions and sent so many texts it was crazy. She NEVER made me feel I was bothering her. She answered my texts, calls, or emails within a couple of hours or less! Who does that! Typically it can be 24 hours or more before you hear back from them. She is so impressive! I cannot put into words how much I love and appreciate her! Karin is an amazing, talented designer with an eye that is unbelievable. Nick, Karins husband, was our contractor. He was absolutely amazing! He never made me feel I was asking dumb questions or taking too much of his time. He answered all of my questions and was able to give me examples of what he was trying to explain. Although I knew that he was so busy and had many other places to go everyday, he never made me feel he was in a hurry to leave! That meant so much to me. I know that seems simple but for me as a teacher, it means a lot when someone is able to make you feel that you are the only one he cares about right now!!!! That takes a special person!

Safe

Safe - My husband and I were blown away by how clean they left our areas so neat and clean every single night before they left. Thanks so much guys for doing that! I have a 3 year old granddaughter that spends a great deal of time at our house. I didn't have to worry about her safety at all.

Respectful

Respectful - The entire team at Karin Ross Designs was respectful in every single way. They were so thoughtful and mindful of what we were doing and where we needed to go in our house. We live in a multi-level house with a ton of stairs everywhere it seems. We had to go up and down everyday as nothing is on the same level! Can't say enough about the professionalism of the entire team!

Communication - Communication is absolutely effective and efficient! My questions were answered in a timely manner every time. Karin checked in with me at least 2 times a week. Nick came by the house 1-2 times a week as well. The crew came every day on time and communicated what they were going to be working on that day. Awesome communication!

Problem Resolution - We really didn't have any "problems" at all, however there were times when items were delayed due to what was going on at the time of our remodel. The coronavirus was just starting to be recognized which contributed to some delays in materials being delivered. Karin and Nick felt horrible. They contacted us immediately and explained what was going on. They were both so respectful of our feelings and made us feel at ease,

He took pride in his work and was as excited as I was when he finished each piece of work! I cannot say enough about him!!! He was so professional, respectful and helpful through every stage of our remodel. Brad was the main person that worked on our project and I'm so blessed that he was given our project. By the end of our 2nd week I felt he was part of our family!!!! Jerry; he was our project manager and completed many aspects of our project. So many of those I have no idea, but a few to mention was the reconfiguration of our windows and taking out the wall. .was so helpful in answering all my questions and was extremely professional as well. Alex: completed all the painting. He did an excellent job of painting everything we needed painting. We have some extremely high ceilings and he did an excellent job with all the painting, Joel: put in the back splash tile. He was so precise and the tile is perfect. We love our back splash. Nick: was a part of our project every step of the way. He met with us prior to the project starting to get an understanding of what we wanted and carried through the entire length of the project. Karin: the entire project started with her. Without her this project would not have been what I wanted. From the first meeting to the end, Karin truly understood what I wanted!!! She is truly gifted and unbelievably knowledgeable in design!! She truly listened to what I wanted and gave me an amazing over the top kitchen that I could ever imagine. I love my new designer kitchen. I can't believe I get to come down every single morning to this elegant kitchen of my dreams.

It was time to remodel our kitchen and family room we were looking for design ideas. We came across Karen Ross Design we liked their work and decided to arrange an appointment with Karen and our family. On our very first appointment we knew we don't need to look any further. We explained Karen and Nick are requirements. She came up with ideas and we picked one that will work for our family. The kitchen and family room came out better than we could gave imagined.
