The close relationship and integration with their subcontractors was clear from the start. We came to realize there is a level of quality consistently expected by HartmanBaldwin and the subcontractors were proud to deliver that quality. The craftsmanship throughout the home makes our house feel like a showcase. We like to say to our Project Forman Levi that we’d invite every potential client over to “kick the tires” so they could touch and feel the HartmanBaldwin difference!
Having gone through two previous remodels on our home and after attending one of their workshops we were committed to the team experience you get with the Design/Build model. Included in the team was their Interior Designer Myranda. Incredibly efficient and knowledgeable, Myranda also possessed valuable interpersonal skills. She would listen to my husband’s and my strong and sometimes opposing opinions and return the next meeting and perfectly articulate what she had heard from both of us and invariably present the perfect solution that satisfied both of our desires and complemented the design of the home. Another notable difference with Design/Build is that our Architect Ty stayed with the project from start to finish. He attended weekly meetings which was extremely helpful and allowed for making adjustments throughout the project. When construction began the communication amongst the team was obvious. For example, unforeseen circumstances arose during demolition and if I was talking to one person to update them about it they usually had already heard the news. A breath of fresh air considering the communication bumps we had experienced during previous remodels.
Not only did we get high quality design, workmanship and materials, we feel that choosing HartmanBaldwin over lesser bids ultimately saved us money overall due to the Design/Build model. Their many detailed and specific conversations with us early on saved us untold amounts of misunderstandings and rework. In addition, when problems arose HartmanBaldwin’s philosophy of getting it right probably saved us significant amounts of money relative to most other contractors.
We’d like to thank our Sales Consultant Jesse for thoroughly presenting the design and development stages and shepherding the project from start to finish. Our Architect Ty who thoughtfully listened and not only designed a gorgeous and functional kitchen and family room space but delighted us weekly with creative and artistic designs that solved all kinds of challenges and added beauty to every area of our home. Troy, as Senior Project Manager deftly guided the entire construction project. Project Foreman Levi was prompt, courteous, always reachable and a problem solver. He ran the weekly meetings with professionally presented Notes Summaries that covered topics like safety and security, schedule forecasting, and decisions and selections. Lead Carpenter Fernando was unfazed by any challenge and could do anything presented to him. Another example of a true professional.
I had a major kitchen renovation 25 yrs ago and a bathroom update 14 yrs ago, so I'm not a novice to major work and remodel. HOWEVER Hartman Baldwin has surprised me at every turn with their professionalism, follow through and expertise in every phase of the project. Starting with the planning, the design and now the construction... I am amazed every day at how efficient and well thought out the process has gone. Highly recommend them to anyone who considering major construction to their home. If you look at the website you might think they only do huge and expensive homes... but no my little project which added 200 sq feet to a 1926 house, got every bit of attention and priority from their team.
In addition to being prompt, courteous, neat, and skilled, they've clearly all earned A's at the HB Charm School.
Here's where the HB team really shines. Not only is the design ingenious, but the execution of the design is perfection and the team seems to spare no effort or expense to get to perfection.
The HB team worked within our weird and unpredictable schedules, kept us fully informed, came up with brilliant design ideas, and made the entire project, from design to completion, enjoyable.
We're happy. Our friends and neighbors are happy. We LOVE our new entry and are thrilled you figured out a way for us to keep the big oak tree we planted in the wrong place decades ago.
Well, since the early '90s. This was our fourth project with Hartman Baldwin and we are grateful that they were still willing to work with us on solving yet another very ugly problem.
We've learned that only those who provide exceptional service work for HB. And I don't think that's because we're such wonderful clients!
I would like to recognize my project manager Patrick, and also my architect Jeremiah Kimber, along with Jesse Emmert.
The entire team is excellent. phenomenal attention to details.
HB is definitely targeting those with the discerning eye for details. We were hesitant due to the initial price points but essentially decided to proceed from a friends recommendations. In retrospective it was a great decision as time lines were met and jobs were completed to perfection. We are happy with the project and will be planning for more with HB. Definitely worth it to go through the process hassle and aggrevation free.
We are a work in progress....so far our experience has been great
Bill did a great job helping us focus the scope of our project. We appreciated his excellent listening and communication skills!
Alan listened and worked very hard to give shape to our ideas. We really appreciated all the times he went back to the drawing board to get the concept just right
Reg runs a tight ship! He makes sure we know what to expect each week and the process has proceeded like clockwork. He has been extremely considerate of our needs and comfort in the midst of the controlled mayhem.
Top notch crew! Everyone is very polite, professional, and attentive to detail.
Levi and Alan were excellent partners throughout the process. Thank you!
Patrick Romero was outstanding from start to finish. We also loved working with Al Zepeda who convinced us that HB was an excellent contractor. Our architect, Alan Brookman, did an outstanding job on a challenging project.
Unfortunately, your surveys take up too much time and are intrusive, especially throughout the building process. This is the last survey that I shall do for your company. I do think you are terrific and have shared it with friends and family.
We have used them before and that is why we went back to them. They came up with great, unique ideas that exceeded our expectations. The contractors have done highly quality and exceptional work.
They have created some exceptional ideas for the remodeling of our house, that we would not have thought of. Those suggestions they made turned out to be pretty spectacular.
I very much appreciate the interaction between professionals when an issue comes up and needs to be addressed. I like being part of a collaborative process.
I would like to recognize Troy for his exceptional service.
This is our second project with HartmanBaldwin in the last three years. We are very happy to be working again with Project Manager Reg Abersek and our architect Jeremiah Kimber. What issues other construction companies might regard as trivial or unimportant, HB takes our concerns seriously and makes sure every request is promptly addressed and resolved. We know everything will turn out perfectly. The peace of mind we have when remodeling with Hartman Baldwin is priceless.
The restoration and remodel of my home (built in 1931) has spanned almost 8 years, and HB has been an amazing partner. The first compliment my home gets is how seamless the old and new wings are. The second is always about the quality of the design and construction, and attention to detail. Thank you, HB!
thank you, Alan Brookman, for the umpteen reworks through the planning stage and your meticulous attention to detail. and thank you, Troy Coats, for giving form to that vision.but really, everyone has been great to work with!
Ralph Castillo, Darin , Bill Judson. for delivering the quality that we expected from HB. Levi and Jason for being very willing to work through the day to day needs of the job.
As usual, we love working with Reg and Ty, although this time we are having material challenges with the schedule. The guys from Caulder are top notch and so are he cabinetry folks.
Our pre-design and design phases have exceeded our expectations. We feel prepared now that we are entering construction.
In addition to Bill Judson, Patrick Szurpicki and Reg Abersek, Patick Romero and Sonia Estrada have been terrific to work with. All around the HB team is professional, courteous and does high quality work.
We had exceptional service starting with bill Judson in the initial phase, then Patrick Szurpicki for architectural design and finally Reg Abersek and Sonia Estrada for construction .
We were very impressed with the professionalism and high quality service provided by all of the Hartman Baldwin staff. They made a complex process very easy to proceed through step by step. The craftsmanship of the kitchen cabinets and new staircase was exceptional. All work was very high quality.
Everyone we worked with at Hartman Baldwin was extremely knowledgeable, interested in our needs and available whenever we needed them. Extremely great people!

I cannot begin to say enough good things about HartmanBaldwin. I absolutely love my beautiful new kitchen they designed & built for me. They also put in lighting in the family room too. It’s such a pleasure to just sit & enjoy the lovely surroundings.Everyone that has seen the kitchen thinks it’s absolutely gorgeous.I would highly recommend this wonderful company to all my friend.Sincerely, Jeanne Bartel
Recently, I had additional work done since my kitchen remodel last year. I had lighting put in the living room & upper hallway. The ceilings had to be retexturized & I had several rooms repainted. Also, had the banister going up the stairs & front door restrained to match the wood floors. As usual, the workmanship of HartmanBaldwin is impeccable & everything turned out beautiful.I love having this company work on my home, because I know from past experience that I can totally trust them & everything will turn out very professional.
Very happy with Hartman Baldwin.
Everyone's been great. Jason the carpenter has been great.
"Team" is very much at the core of our experience with HartmanBaldwin. We appreciated that team dynamic as it was expressed in professional excellence and kind care.
Terrific team. Terrific experience. Terrific outcome.
HB has been the most informative, professional, responsible and time sensitive (so important for staying on schedule!!) contractors we've ever worked with. I highly recommend them to everyone especially if you have a lengthy project, HB will guide you through the entire process!
Bill, Ralph, and the onsite team, Reg and Leo have been exceptional. They are always informative, professional, and supportive of any questions or concerns we have. I believe the entire HB team goes above and beyond to make this project as smooth as possible. Thank you all so much!
The whole team was exceptional
Bill Baldwin and his team go way beyond the norm to insure that the process and the experience exceeds customer expections
Jesse Emmert is an impressive diplomat - he listens carefully, articulates issues clearly, and works to find solutions that work for both HB and the client.Alan Brookman is a very clever architect - he has both a design aesthetic and the sense of practicalities that create a beautiful space that actually works well.Myranda Snapp's taste combined with her patience, communication skills, and knowledge of area resources make the choice of fixtures, colors, etc. a very pleasant process. She knows how to lower the stress level with her good sense, interpersonal skills, and ability to find the products that work and look good within budget.
Not a single person who worked on our project was unprofessional or discourteous. They were all high quality individuals who did their jobs well and were pleasant to be around.
All increases in the original contract price were the result of our own change orders.
The materials and workmanship are top of the line -- works of art really.
We are very satisfied customers. Your company made a potentially overwhelming process much easier than expected. The weekly meetings and your availability played a big role in our satisfaction.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend your company to others and, in fact, have already done so.
Levi Losser has been an exceptional project manager who has gone way above and beyond. He has been prompt, courteous, helpful, patient and very resourceful. When it seems that something can't be done, he consistently finds a way to do it. Having him around has been a really great experience; our kids will even miss him. He should leave you with many satisfied customers. Working with Ty Otjen has also been a great experience. He has been very generous with his time and very patient in listening to our concerns and addressing them. Many thanks Ty for talking me into the island and out of the peninsula.
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of HartmanBaldwin Design/Build as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
