We are minimizing the amount of people on any job site to maintain social distancing and much of our office staff is working from home.
Ryan Pirro - Ryan never lost his cool and was alway accommodating when things went wrong, or we changed our minds. He went out of his way to keep us happy. Kevin - who has been finishing up punch list items. He always prompt, cleans up, asks appropriate questions, listens and makes sure I'm happy before he leaves. Subcontractors: Luis x 2 the tile guys were great - meticulous in their work and considerate.
Overall, we are extremely pleased with the outcome of the project. We enjoyed working with Lori, Charlie and Luiz. They were a great team. We wished Charlie could have finished our project as he put his heart and soul into the project.
Everyone has been great- working very hard and have super pleasant dispositions. Lori has been great.
Finding a local company to support the community was one element of our choice. Experience with Historical district regulation in Lexington a close second and of course, the overall styles of prior projects published and on their website was a great match with our preferred overall style. Price was steep, but the overall professionalism did match it.
Yes, we have recommended Feinmann to several people already. One family has a project in the works with Feinmann.
We love the renovation.
Greg and Phil. They both very much respected our space and family which was so important to us because we lived through the renovation. Phil's carpentry work is beautiful and our home was left very clean every day. Phil also came up with creative solutions to solve problems and gave us options to choose from. Greg kept us on track, was always prepared for our meetings with an agenda and project details, had the difficult conversations with subs, and we felt he had our back throughout the process. He noticed when we were not thrilled with a particular element (e.g. our backsplash) and personally came with us to a tile store to help us make the right decision. Another example is when we felt our island was too long (a point that we questioned during the design phase). Thankfully, Greg and Phil responded and addressed this immediately. Kevin did a beautiful job on the stair railings. Tammy was not technically assigned to our project, but was always willing to help when we needed her to provide guidance on the finishing touches. We very much appreciated her time. Tiago (electrician) did great work, cared about the project, and was great with our kids.
Reputation in the community. We felt Feinmann understood our problem during our initial meeting. The initial meeting made a big difference for us and knowing that a solution could be achieved within our budget.
We’ve already done so.
Tammy was truly excellent. Kevin’s trim work was also great.
Hunter’s coworker John Strand recommended, and when we compared the designs of Feinmann and another option, Feinmann’s designs seemed more complete and thought out in all details.
Overall we’re very happy with the home. Feinmann helped us include lots of storage and almost no details are badly thought out. The master bedroom and bathroom are both truly impressive and Feinmann really did a great job of incorporating our ideas into an effective, beautiful design.
We have been very pleased with the construction progress and the care and attention that Andy, Greg and Tammy have taken to advance our project
Tammy aNd Greg have been very responsive and hands on in our absence. Their attention to detail has been invaluable
Tammy did a great job managing our project 90% of the time and AN D was fabulous as our in house carpenter and overall supervisor of the day to day work
Feinmann employees really cared about the quality of work and we very much appreciated the time and attention which they gave us. The team we had was great.
Thoughtfully iterated with us to identify practical sulutions to address the areas we wanted to enhance our home.
Professional and responsive team, particularly our project manager and lead carpenter.
We had very open dialogue as scope details were worked out in the field and throughout the job. We were on budget and I felt very clear regarding any change orders decisions.
Greg and Phil — PM and lead carpenter. They were a pleasure to work with. They were willing to listen, but were also honest (they didn’t just tell us what we wanted to hear). They helped us navigate the project, having never been through work of this magnitude.
Reputation, portfolio/experience. We felt confident that would do the job well and comprehensively after the on-site meetings.
This is the second time we've used Feinmann Inc., and we've always found the company and the work product to be of the highest quality!
4+The work was top quality and my wife, and I greatly appreciate the top quality craftsmanship that the Feinmann team brings to the job.
Ryan, our project manager was especially helpful setting up weekly meetings to review the project as well as being available by phone or text. Overall communication on the project was excellent!
We came across a couple of problems in the middle of the project that were unforeseen. The Feinmann team brought in other folks to propose workarounds which were successful.
I would like to recognize Ryan, Barney Maier, and Charlie for their exceptional service. Barney was really able to connect with my wife to envision what the end product would look like.
Continue to operate at this high level in future projects
Worked with them several times on major projects
Ryan Pirro was an excellent project manager who chased items down and made everything happen on time. Kevin, our carpenter, did an amazing job and gave us the kitchen I have always wanted. Barney, the architect, turned our house into exactly what we wanted. I cannot thank them enough for giving us the house we imagined when we bought a "house with good bones" 16 years ago. My husband and I were watching a show in which lottery winners find their dream home, and decided that even if we did win the lottery allowing us to buy a bigger house, we would want to stay in our current house because we now love it so much. Thank you!
We had worked with them 9 years ago for a second-floor renovation and been impressed with both the solution they came up with and the quality of their work. After hearing numerous horror stories of renovations delayed due to poor general contracting management, we decided to stay with them because we knew they would do their best to avoid situations resulting in significant delays and cost overruns.
Feinmann has done a tremendous job to date. The project is well managed and quality of the work is top notch. They have been a strong advocate with sub-contractors, keeping the costs within what we originally agreed to.
And we have done so already!
We love the function of our new home--fits what we wanted perfectly.
There were some challenges for us in managing the selections process around fixtures, as we felt there were very few options that fit within our allowances, and some hiccups in communication with the store that we were using for these. We appreciated the lengths that Feinmann went to however in mitigating some of these hiccups and working with us to make the process smoother.
We ended up over budget, but almost entirely from issues that arose during construction that would have been difficult to anticipate. We very much appreciated the way that these overages were managed by the Feinmann team, how issues were communicated, and in some cases how the expenses were shared. I felt that Ryan and others were managing the project as if it was their home, and this engendered a huge amount of trust when problems (rarely) arose.
a real area of strength of the Feinmann team, and this helped us have a high level of comfort and trust throughout the project.
When neighbors grab us to rave about the behavior of subcontractors, you know that you have picked a great company
At the end of the day, the process for a gut renovation of our home was smooth and as minimally stressful as possible
Ryan Pirro was a fantastic, professional and dedicated PM that we really can't say enough good things about. We had a great experience with conceptual design (John, Peter) and Kevin and Erin did a great job on our carpentry in the home that I know we will appreciate for years to come.
We really appreciate the professionalism and attention to detail that the entire team has shown as we have moved forward with our project. When small problems have surfaced on the project--which they always do on jobs like this--I've been impressed with how proactive that the team has been in addressing them and that gives us a lot of confidence and trust in the team.
Pleasure working with such a professional, accountable team. This process has been smooth and issues that have come up are taken care of in a fair, transparent way. Very happy with the progress on this project.
Our team of Tammy, Lori and Phil were phenomenal. They were attentive to details, listened to our needs, had great ideas and proactively resolved any issue or problem that came up. In particular:, Tammy has a great eye for detail and was always ready to step in and make things right where needed. Lori was a great collaborator, had great ideas, was very good at understanding and playing to our style and was willing to work within our work schedules. Phil is not only a great wood worker, but has a great sense of the possible and brought forward really good design refinements throughout the project. Overall, this team really worked as a team and we felt true collaboration and ownership in our project. We expect to do additional projects with Feinmann and will be asking to have the same team assigned to us.
We spoke to a number of design/build firms and liked Feinmann's approach and were reassured by the positive reviews that they had received.
We are very happy with the experience we had with Feinmann in what was a pretty extensive remodel. First of all, their design team - particularly Barney - truly developed a great vision for the house, beyond what we had imagined. Through the remodel, which by its nature is an arduous process (living without a kitchen for a while), the Feinmann team was very collaborative and supportive - and the results have truly transformed our house. We're extremely happy with the outcome.
We had expected it to be easy - as we viewed management as one of the key strengths Feinmann touts. And on a few occasions, it was not quite as easy as we expected - but the fair answer here is that in total, they were great to work with ...
We had used them for another project 20 years ago - at that time on the recommendation of a friend whose judgement we trusted... For that project, we didn't use the design services as much ... this time we decided to use both design and build - and we were happy with that coordinated effort.
Like any long project, there were some ups and downs, and some periods of frustration - but overall, given the complexity and scale of the job, it was well managed. We enjoyed interacting with all the people who came through our home on the project, so that helped. And when some initial plan ideas turned out not to work out as expected, Feinmann worked with us to adjust and make it right. We do feel that they stand by their word and resolved every issue that arose. We are very pleased with the outcome and are truly enjoying our "new" home.
We added a new room to our single-family home and remodeled another small room. Feinmann provided us with a variety of design options for a challenging space - an older, small home on a small lot, variances required, etc - as well as many potential construction schedule options, and were patient while we deliberated the options and worked out our financing in order to make the best decision. During the construction phase they took care to evaluate, accommodate, and where they could, remediate the construction work done before we owned the home. Our project schedule extended from fall through a very, very cold winter, but the dedicated crew worked through snow and freezing temperatures to stay on track. They did lots of little "extras" for us as well. I imagine we were a relatively small and less interesting project for Feinmann, given their portfolio - but even if that was true, you wouldn't have known it from the care and attention paid to our remodeling needs. Thanks for helping us make some very necessary changes and love our home even more!
Chris (lead carpenter) was amazing. He took time to explain everything he was finding & fixing & building and was extraordinarily courteous and respectful of us and everyone on the site. We learned a ton from him.
I think continuing some kind of regular status meeting through to the very end of the project would be a positive change. We had a decent punch list when our regular meetings stopped, albeit of small things, and it was not always clear when things would be completed or who owned the next step. Having a regular opportunity to meet for questions/clarifications/etc until the very end would take some of the angst out of getting those final final tasks completed, on all sides (Feinmann, contractors, clients).
Quality of work given projects represented on the website & reviews we found online, responsiveness to our initial inquiry, and feeling that Feinmann took our project seriously even though we weren't doing a major remodel.
I don't know how we lived comfortably without the new home office... boggles my mind every time I use it, and remember that it used to be in our bedroom...! Thank you very much for working with us.
Feinmann is a truly professional organization. From the first meeting to the final details, everyone was a pleasure to work with and did a thoroughly perfect job. I couldn't be happier!
Definitely. I have recommend Feinmann a number of times already to many others. Feinmann is a truly professional organization. From the first meeting to the final details, everyone was a pleasure to work with and did a thoroughly perfect job. I couldn't be happier!
Basically everyone! From meeting with Peter Feinmann initially to every subcontractor! But obviously I have to give the loudest shout out to An D as the most amazing head carpenter and Ryan Pirro as the best project manager!
Feinmann does an excellent job in every way. I have loved all the renderings and now that the room has begun to be built, the crew is very hard-working and cordial. My project manager is outstanding, going above and beyond his job and is responsive and well informed on every part of the process.
I couldn't possibly be any more satisfied with how Feinmann executed my project from beginning to end. They use top-notch folks for all aspects of the work from electrician to plumber, master carpenter to project manager. Everyone came when they said they would, did what they were supposed to and were delightful to deal with. The BEST!!
We had previously used Feinmann for a renovation of our 1st floor and kitchen. That was 5 years ago and we still are praising and enjoying the work every day. When we decided to redo our exterior deck, Feinmann was our first choice. The design was excellent as well as the execution. When we hit some design challenges along the way, Feinmann's lead carpenter solved them. We had a strict deadline for the project, since we had planned to celebrate our daughter's college graduation with a party that included the deck. Feinmann met that deadline and we had a memorable occasion! We now have had the deck for two months. We enjoy it for almost every meal over the weekend and often during the week. It adds an extra room to the house which we thoroughly enjoy.
Keeping to the agreed upon schedule was particularly important since we were planning on using our new expanded deck to host a college graduation party. Fienmann finished on time and we had a great event using the renovated porch.
Chris Gonzales as lead carpenter did a great job. His quality was top notch and when we had a few design issues to work through with the planters and the bench he came through.
Feinmann had done our kitchen and 1st floor and we are still enjoying that work 5 years later.
The design and execution was perfect. We had a strict deadline for a graduation party. They finished a week ahead of that.
we chose feinmann because of, well, peter feinmann. we loved having him, and his entire team in our home. which, they treated like their own, the entire time they were in it. the work they did is all over-the-top gorgeous. they coached us to select products and finishes that will last a life time (and through our toddler), and the craftsmanship with which it was all executed certainly will hold up to time, too. i admire daily the integration of existing and new, and regret only that in time i'll likely forget which is which. feinmann's team are masterful at what they do. and kind, and polite, and responsible, and responsive. i really can't say enough nice things about them, and their work.
super satisfied. you guys deliver amazing work, with a lot of really nice customer service. i was reflecting with a friend on the process so far and explaining that i'm so so so happy with the services you are providing, and how you're dealing with everything that has arisen (unexpectedly or not). i'm not sure if i've already written this, so apologies if it's a repeat, but: i also really like how aligned your team is. you all clearly respect each other's skills and expertise and work to highlight them with your customers.
Your collective attention to detail is mightily impressive. An example: the tiler finished adding a bit more tile over the weekend, and --if possible-- our bathroom looks even better! Your sub contractor was really patient and pleasant with each iteration, and he and Kris had a great working relationship. But, the reasoning and solutioning behind adding a bit more tile around the tub was brilliant, and something I never would've thought of (either the concern or the solution). A small example of your architecture/design/build brilliance!
Extremely impressed with the level of professionalism of Feinmann's staff. I highly recommend them!
I was very impressed with the Feinmann staff. Very high marks here.
Chris Gonzalez was amazing as the lead carpenter. He kept me informed on a daily basis, handled lots of repair/maintenance problems that had piled up at the house, and was a joy to work with. Chris went above-and-beyond both in communications and handling the details. My children and pets enjoyed getting to know him, too.Greg Lehman was calm and thoughtful as a project manager. Many thanks!
This is the 3rd project we've done with Feinmann Inc and we've gotten exceptional results each time.
We did a lot of research and went off customer reviews and recommendations originally. Plus, we've done work with them in the past. The key to success of working with them they are so flexible and they will in good faith make things work in the end even if they have to eat some costs.
Given I have an old house, everything felt like a new technology and an innovative technique. The work was solidly done.
Greg Lehman and Kris Beder were both responsive to our questions and concerns. Kris was kind enough to lock up our house after he finished up work while we took off for the holidays. Greg helped us figure out we had some room behind a wall to keep the TV and network cables and such hidden away, which gave us a much cleaner look around the TV. That was a great idea! We appreciated that Barney Maier and Elvin Zayas-Lai continued to provide some advice way after the design phase, even though we didn't always take their advice.
Wonderful team. Great attention to detail. Kris is very aware of the challenges of homeowners living through a renovation and goes out of his way to ensure our comfort and safety as well as keeping the project moving forward smoothly. Lori's attention to the multitude of finer details is both impressive and very much appreciated. The Masons did masterful work with the brick---they closed up a doorway. Anyone unfamiliar with the house would never notice a door had existed there---that said, we're thrilled that phase of the project is complete:)
Working with Feinmann made our renovation such a positive experience. Unforeseen issues were quickly and clearly communicated. Peter, Ryan, Kris and team were always cheerful and professional. We came up with great solutions to all the problems we wanted to solve with truly stunning results. I particularly appreciated having the time and space when needed to ensure the details were just right. The high quality workmanship and attention to detail by Feinmann and subs really shows. We are so happy in our significantly reconfigured home.
Feinmann does an amazing job! Our project was an almost full gut renovation plus addition and we lived in the house throughout. Everything came out beautifully, with some great ideas and suggestions along the way. We are really happy with the results! This is the third time we’ve worked with Feinmann and they never disappoint!!
Chris is great. So knowledgeable and great at explaining choices and issues. Tammy is making the wheels turn and helping sort options and tee up good solutions. Thank you!
From start to finish of the project our ideas were heard and creatively addressed. The quality of the final results are even better than we imagined it would be. Our home feels completely new and we are loving the improved living space.
Working with Tammy Russo was fantastic - she is personable, timely, has great ideas and always seem to stay calm and in charge, ready to problem solve.AnD was a delight to work with with the quality of his carpentry and building skills are impressive. Eric is was a pleasure too, always smiling with a "can do" attitude.
Thank you! Looking forward to being completely done with the job inside and out.We are loving our new inside space! Great design work and quality of workmanship for building. Thank you!
Excellent experience start to finish.
