Recognized Excellence - Ryan was the greatest. Professional, always on time, no-nonsense, just gets the job done.
Areas Of Satisfaction - The communication throughout the whole project was wonderful. The project manager used tools to make the process really simple and easy. The quality of work and the team was amazing! Ryan was great as well. He was there each week with updates. Having a major project done in your house for months might seem like a huge disturbance, but it was actually pleasant having them here.

Remodeling Concerns - I had concerns that the budget would get out of control and that the end result wouldn't be what we had expected. All of my concerns were unfounded because of how Kevin presents all the budget scenarios upfront and keeps you updated. All of the visual tools used to show the project updates through the process were really wonderful!
Professional & Organized - The professionalism of Kevin and his team throughout the project was noteworthy. Even when things weren't going 100% as planned they were always pleasant to deal with and quick to answer questions or concerns.
Schedule - The project timeline went fairly far off track due to a tile quality issue that snowballed the timeline of subsequent sub-contractors. Kevin communicated effectively throughout.
Budget - There was a slight overage that was unexpected. Kevin was reasonable in coming to a fair resolution.
Construction Quality - Everything is beautiful and solid. My father and 3 brothers are all contractors or in the building trades. They were all impressed with the quality and are often not quick with a complement -- this says a lot!
Communication - This was pretty high on the list of most important qualities I wanted in a builder. Kevin and his team did not disappoint.
Problem Resolution - Quick to respond and resolve.
Trust - They have been nothing but responsive and professional. I do not have any concerns in this area.
Overall Experience - Customer service is clearly where BB&R excel. Kevin, Jane, Ryan and the rest of his team were a pleasure to work with. Kevin and Jane made the design process enjoyable. They came up with some elegant solutions and ideas that we definitely would not have come up with on our own. I am extremely detail oriented and it was great to work with a team that "got" this and went beyond my expectations. Kevin and Jane were both easy to reach and quick to respond -- always in a professional and pleasant manner.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Kevin and his team did a beautiful job with our project and were excellent with communication throughout the project. The schedule went pretty far off track at one point, which was disappointing, but I was pleased that we generally felt like we understood what hold-ups were and when we could expect things to move along. Additionally, Kevin and his team were very responsive, professional and fair when resolving issues as they arose.
Recognized Excellence - Kevin and Ryan were both pleasant and very easy to work with.
Remodeling Concerns - We had a couple of slightly odd issues to contend with, Kevin and his team sorted them out and communicated effectively through each step. We never felt like we didn't know what to expect or that our concerns would not be dealt with effectively.
Additional Comments - Overall, I would say despite a few setbacks, this was as painless an experience as one might expect for a project this size. We are extremely pleased with the final result and feel like Kevin, Jane and their team were the perfect choice for our addition. We'd use them again in a heart-beat!

Recognized Excellence - We loved Ryan, Kevin, Jane, and Steve! The guy that did our tile was really, really good! The person who did our counter was exceptional!
Remodeling Concerns - We were concerned about the amount of space and how to fit our personal style! They did a great job with the space and giving us our style! We were really happy about that.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Ease of access to Kevin and Jane. They were very accommodating and responsive to questions or concerns we had.
Recognized Excellence - Ryan (not sure of last name). Ryan was our on-site lead and did a fantastic job.
Remodeling Concerns - Disruption to our daily life. Not having a kitchen for a lengthy period of time can be challenging. BB&R presented a schedule to help set expectations and also gave us some tips for organizing the space we had to utilize for a makeshift kitchen.
Areas Of Satisfaction - I was most satisfied with the fact that they were easy to work with, extremely reliable, made the process so easy and simple, and we just love the kitchen!
Recognized Excellence - I would like to recognize everyone for their exceptional service. They all did a great job. I enjoyed working with Kevin and his wife Jane. I also really appreciated Ryan and all that he added to the job.
Remodeling Concerns - The concern was just that it was a big spend and they just made the process so easy. We didn't have to follow up with anything. We just talked to Kevin about what we needed and he and his team took control. We really didn't have to worry about it and I really appreciate that. I think my Moms biggest concern was the fact that you would have to try to manage the individual pieces and that really didn't occur at all.
Additional Comments - I found them exceptional and I would recommend them to anyone. I am very please to have found them and we are considering having them help with a bathroom project now.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Barnes Building & Remodeling (BBR) completely renovated our master bath: new toilets, shower, tub, sinks, cabinets. BBR also replaced the kitchen sink, and remodeled our laundry room. The quality of the work was outstanding, particularly the tiling and stonework. BBR also gave useful advice on design and function.
Additional Comments - Friends and family continue to comment on how open and welcoming the space now is. It was a total transformation.
Additional Comments - This is our third major project with Kevin. He is reliable, easy to work with and can be trusted to keep his word.

Overall Experience - It really was exceptional. Especially Kevin Barnes. He is personable, approachable, helpful, a good listener, and friendly. I felt confident with him. Dave Berard was also great, it's just the issues with the doors.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Joe handled items professionally. I had confidence in his work and suggestions. Kevin kept me updated on progress and resolved unexpected issues. Both listed to my questions and concerns. There were level and calm with my questions and did not display impatience.

Areas Of Satisfaction - I know this may sound crazy, but I really appreciated The project management/billing practices kevin uses. It was so easy to see where we were at, with the project status and budget allotment for each piece of the job. There would be little chance of a project getting out-of-control and over budget since every Friday you receive an update of a very detailed spreadsheet.Loved this!
Sales Knowledge - Kevin was extremely knowledgeable and thorough in the pre-project meetings we had. He explored all of our options, and made recommendations based on his experience. Throughout the project, he explained everything he and the crew did and made small recommendations along the way that made such a difference in the way our house turned out. Adding roof overhangs, wrapping our porch columns, etc. We couldn't have possibly managed our project without Kevin and his crew.
Professional & Organized - Completely. We chose Barnes because of Kevin's professionalism, his approach to project work, attention to detail and eye for design.
Communication - Kevin communicated with us throughout the entire project and was quick to respond when we reached out with questions. In addition to the up-front planning meetings, he came by in person to check in on the work many times throughout the project, and kept us up to date on materials delivery, staff schedules, etc. via phone and email.
Installation Crew - Our siding installation crew was great -- they gave us a daily recap of what they had done that day, and what they were tackling next, and when to expect them the following day. They were incredibly thorough, with an approach of "doing it right the first time."
Quality Of Materials - We LOVE the windows and siding recommended by Kevin. Our replacement windows look great, are easy to clean and are so much warmer than our previous windows. We ordered a custom vinyl shingle siding color and Kevin was able to get it for the same price as the standard siding. It looks like we have a new house, we are so incredibly happy with the product.
Quality Of Workmanship - I can't say enough about the quality of the workmanship on our house. The crew didn't cut any corners, they fixed anything they uncovered that wasn't up to par, and they took pride in every little detail, down to buying paint that matched the new siding to camouflage the wires and pipes on the side of the house so they didn't stand out. We used to be a little embarrassed of our old siding and windows, but now we're proud of the way our house looks, and we know the work was done right.
Recognized Excellence - Joe and Steve were awesome...they showed up every morning on time, explained what they were doing, and went about their work quietly and professionally, which was good since I work from home. They were great with our (overly) affectionate dog, and answered all of our questions thoroughly. Our siding installer (forget his name) was great -- he would give us a recap every day of what he & his crew had done and what was next. They cleaned the site thoroughly every day and did a beautiful job. Instead of re-installing the old doorbell and crappy outside lights with the new shingles, he told us if we got new ones he'd install those instead. This kind of attention to detail was much appreciated.
Additional Comments - We will definitely use Barnes Building & Remodeling again. We can't wait until we can call and tell you we're ready for our next project! Thanks Kevin and crew, we are so happy with our "new" house!
Areas Of Satisfaction - The entire process was handled very professionally. We are enjoying our new family room. Kevin and his team showed up when they said they would, the quality of workmanship was excellent and the guys on site were respectful of our existing living space as the walked through the house to access the work site. Very happy with Barnes Building and Remodeling.
Areas For Improvement - None, given that we engaged Barnes Building for a series of complex projects over several years so of course there were issues along the way. But for every problem encountered, Barnes solved it quickly, professionally and fairly.
Areas Of Satisfaction - The communication and billing transparency were exceptional. That helps us learn what we could do to help make our projects successful.
Lead Source - We attended a Home Fair in the Worcester Centrum during the spring of 2009, where we met and followed-up with several of the contractors represented there, including Kevin Barnes. It was an easy decision to hire Barnes Building and we never regretted that decision.
Customer Suggestion - We had a few snags. There was a slight miscommunication with the people who did the tile. It was done good in the end. The end result is beautiful. It wasn't Kevin's fault.

Excellent with respect to the details and follow up.
